Now I want to know what happens to all the amniotic fluid during my c-section. Probably an Old Faithful geyser-type situation.

How do they break/empty it so you don’t just get it inside you or infection? I’m an ‘ignorance is bliss’ kinda gal so I won’t be asking Dr Google, but it is interesting...

I feel like I knew a lot of this stuff during my last pregnancy and then completely forgot/don't care this time around.

I feel like there's kind of suction for that because they also clean out a lot of the other stuff which ultimately leads to lighter bleeding than a vaginal birth. Or that's what I remember. Also not googling.

Suction was said a lot during my section today. I assume it’s vacuumed out.

I’m not due until late June, so I don’t *really* go here yet, but I did find out at a growth scan yesterday that baby is head down (I was under the impression that because of my unicornuate uterus and history of breech presentation that this was unlikely), so now I want to talk to my provider about whether I may be a good candidate for VBAC? Things are getting kinda real all of a sudden! You can sit on the "all these bitches are going to have babies before me" bench with me. That's great about the head down baby! My EDD is literally the last day of June XD

I know that some fluid comes out when the incision is made, but yeah, I'd definitely assume that a lot of it is suctioned out. I mean, they do have to remove the placenta as well.

Nooo. It’s hot here this week and my feet are starting to get the awful sloshing feeling when I walk that I remember with DD. It started right about a month before my EDD with her too.

Did you see the forecast for Thursday? I'm gonna be a sausage. With O I was already swelling a ton by now because, as you remember, it was the hottest May in history. My BIL got married when I was 33 weeks that time and I could only wear flip flops.

At least it’s supposed to cool off after that? That May was the worst! Such a brutal time to be pregnant. I had to stop going to work because I had to wear closed toed shoes there and I literally couldn’t get any on my feet.

I need everyone to start having their babies so I can talk sleep with people. E sleeps pretty much all day without much effort but getting her down for bedtime takes 1100 years it seems like.

My girl had her days and nights confused it seems. No issue all day, then she wants to be up and crying from like midnight to 4 AM. It’s killing me.

X-posted from May15. Okay. Our visitors are all gone & I’ve gotten up out of bed a few times. Right now, we’re doing skin to skin. We’re currently supplementing with formula, while offering breast, but she’s getting super frustrated at breast. She had some glucose issues at birth & they’ve had to poke her a few times 😞 We’re both doing well, though. OB talked to H while I was being wheeled into our room and said nope nope nope octopus to number 4. My uterus is dunzo (my words, not his). So much scar tissue. I guess I just shy of hemorrhaged while they were sewing me up. I’ve been extra sleepy throughout the afternoon. We named her Aud.rey Gra.ham and we’re completely smitten. She weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz at birth, so she seems so big & so Little all at once (she’s exactly two pounds bigger than the big kid & A was 3oz bigger than him). She’s perfect. I’m good. Hungry, but good. I’ve eaten two Jello cups, a veggie broth & a popsicle so far today. I’m ready for real food in the morning. H has been awesome at taking care of us. He offered me sushi tomorrow for lunch once I’m cleared to eat. And pictures!

Sorry she's had to get poked. It's the worst seeing our babies have to go through things like that. But, congratulations! tinyjoys, She is beautiful.

Every time I doze off, she makes a squeak. Annoying startle reflex.

Heading to L&D! My water broke a little more than hour ago and my mom and sister got to my house pretty fast. Contractions are every 3-4 minutes and getting stronger. I will update when I can. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Pizzaslut Yay, good luck! tinyjoys, adorable little babe and family! I am jealous of the little squeaks. Those sound much cuter than a foot in the ribs.

I had my 38 week appointment a few days early. I forgot how much it messes with you when you get checked. I have better fluid pockets and am 3 cm dilated. I feel like I still have a few days left at least. He seems content but now I am questioning everything and wondering if they are early signs.

While physically I’m ready to be on leave, I still have so much to do at the office before this baby comes. Baby isn’t due for another fiv-ish weeks so I’ve got time but at the same time it feels like I have no time at all. I’m hoping by the end of next week I’ll be in a good enough place that if the baby were to come early nothing major would be left and someone else could easily pick up the work.
