I definitely should have a plan for if my water breaks at work. Last time, it all happened in the toilet in the middle of the night so I forgot it could make a big mess. Oops.
DS came ten days early, plus had his due date moved up because he measured big so I'm not used to being this pregnant. I am due Friday but I'm hoping it's today or tomorrow. There is going to be major road construction near my parents' and sister's houses on Thursday and they will have to rush to get to DS. Plus none of them know back roads or use their damn map function on their phones so it may not be pretty. Ideally it will happen when DS is at daycare or something.

Hey I'm going to try to post pictures and a birth story later today. I had an emergency c-section that I apparently snored through because my husband and nurse friends had me sedated. But we had a beautiful baby boy born on Friday. Otherwise, we keep getting bad news and I miss DS1. I haven't been in a very good place mentally. Hugs to you. Congrats on your boy! But I’m so sorry things are tough.

My water broke at home, while I was laying in bed. It was a huge mess but not as bad as movies/tv sometimes make it out to be. I recommend a couple huge pads (like the ones we probably all have for PP anyways) in your work bag just in case. Those kept my car and me totally dry on the way to the hospital.

I'm mostly in denial about the actual going into labor part.
My cousin's wife who was due 3 days before me had her baby yesterday.
And I could barely get out of bed my ribs hurt so bad this morning. If the baby continues to be breech, do they just schedule the c-section or do they wait for labor to start naturally and then do a c-section?

With DS at I think 37 weeks if he was still breech they went ahead and scheduled the c/s. And then kept checking his position at weekly appts til the c/s.

E slept in her dockatot all night instead of in our arms so that’s a plus. She still woke about every 1-1.5 hours to eat but went back down pretty easily. Her last stretch was the best and longest, I actually had to wake her to eat.

Trying to be active in the randoms thread 😉
We had our first night at home with the twins, and they did great! We have to wake them up every 3 hours to eat, but I’ve gotten the hang of nursing them both at the same time with a nursing pillow. Other than that, they are very chill, love to eat, love to sleep.
I have a nurse that comes to the house every other day to weigh them and check on them and myself. All looks good!

I guess I hadn’t put much thought into my water breaking at work. I should throw some pants in my bag I guess. I have pads and towels in my car just in case but forgot about the actual clothing part.

My water didn’t break on its own last time (OB broke it when progression stalled out around 7cm) so I hadn’t thought about contingency plans.
I am so hormonally cranky/ragey/short tempered and I hate it. 😔 I was hoping it would just be a bad day and then pass but no such luck.
DS (3) told me when he’s cranky he likes to blow bubbles, so we’ve been on the back patio while he blows bubbles and I fold laundry.

I got to have a lovely Hollywood movie style scene when my water broke last week. It was all over my bed, my bathroom, my stairs, my car, and still gushing when I got to the hospital. I soaked through 4 hospital gowns and left trails. The big pads the hospital gives you helped some. The always overnight pads I had at my house did nothing for me, so I arrived at the hospital in a nightgown, a robe, and a makeshift diaper out of a beach towel. It was so glamorous.
I also had polyhydraminos though, so too much amniotic fluid. I was warned but not prepared. I wish I had bought some depends to have on hand.
Speaking of depends—-I found the always discreet brand disposable underwear helpful for nighttime and the first few days home postpartum. So much easier to deal with for me than the mesh undies and huge diaper pads.

My OB broke my water last time when I was 9.5cm and I remember it being a lot. Then when I was pushing later a whole new round of it came out. My friend at work told me the towel/garbage bag method is the way to go because she soaked straight through the depends she tried to use. fatpony, my RCS got scheduled because the baby has been breech. They're keeping it scheduled because she keeps flipping between head down and transverse now. They'll check again when I go in for it, then induce me if I'm in an inducable state (dilated, effaced, baby head down). If I'm not then I'm sticking with the RCS since they won't let me go past my EDD because of my emergency c/s last time. Talk through all the options with your OB.

I’m not due until late June, so I don’t *really* go here yet, but I did find out at a growth scan yesterday that baby is head down (I was under the impression that because of my unicornuate uterus and history of breech presentation that this was unlikely), so now I want to talk to my provider about whether I may be a good candidate for VBAC? Things are getting kinda real all of a sudden! You can sit on the "all these bitches are going to have babies before me" bench with me. That's great about the head down baby!

Now I want to know what happens to all the amniotic fluid during my c-section.

I've had a bunch of Braxton Hicks and crampiness today. Now my low back and hips are killing me. Friday cannot come soon enough... I need to not be stuck at a desk anymore.
