Squeeeee tinyjoys congrats!!! When DD1ms blood sugar had I checked on repeat there was one nice nurse that just would try to use the same poke multiple times - it sounds gross but it saved her from being covered in needle sticks and bruises. I hope you’re getting some rest now that the visitors are gone.

Stupid question alert: you’ve just gotten LO to sleep - fed, swaddled, clean diaper, butt covered in diaper cream, sound machine on, the works. Then you hear a massive fart/possible poop. What do you do?
A) pray it was just a fart and let the baby sleep B) change the diaper and pray you can get the baby back to sleep C) Other: ______________

I hope you’re getting some rest now that the visitors are gone. They tried, but couldn’t get a reading from the initial poke site. She tried that first before poking her the second time. She’s done super well since, though, so hopefully no more glucose pokes.

A little poop for a few hours on top of diaper cream isn't more important than sleep. Just clean it really well and put more cream on next change.

She’s beautiful tinyjoys! How were the older kids with her? Anyone else have a H that is soooooo tired ? He’s not getting up MOTN. I do all of the new babycare, making dinner etc. The toddler woke up, threw a fit, and he just continued to sleep. Her fit woke the baby - which took me an hour plus to settle, and I had to another tend to her while holding upset newborn. He still sleeps. I finally gave toddler her kindle - at 2:30am to stop the fit (you can mail me my MOTY award) and am trying to nurse baby back down. I come back to our room and he says: is she ok now? Me: yeah thanks for your help Look - I’m not sleep deprived much but being up MOTN now for 2 hours is not fun and IDC that he works bc in a few months I’ll be back to work still doing the wake ups while he sleeps EVEN THO he will be off for paternity leave.

Today was...something else. My toddler’s acting out for attention is getting exponentially worse, and he flat out refused to nap today for the first time ever. I was not happy with him. I don’t love one of my kids more than the other, but sometimes it’s awfully easier to like one of them more. tinyjoys Congratulations!! She’s absolutely beautiful and I love her name! I hope you’re getting some good rest. yianna My H is guilty, but at least he has the sense to be sheepish when he makes a comment about how he didn’t get enough sleep.

Oh man you guys. I told SO just the other day that in my next life I want to come back as a dad.
And he tried to tell me that he hears the baby crying too so he’s also up a bunch of times. To which I was like oh you do hear it! Then get up and do something about it. Andplusalso that’s not the fucking same. And nothing sends me into a rage quicker than having to deal with both kids in the MOTN. If I’m doing all the baby care, because you just default to the baby needing to be fed, then by god you can deal with the other one.
PHEW. That has been building.

yianna, they LOVED her. A didn’t want anyone else to hold her & got upset when my mom or Grandma would try 😂 Also, you have to act surprised tomorrow when I post her pictures & name to Facebook. Y’all saw her before our extended families & friends, plus know her name before them.

This kiddo has a distinct poop odor. OTOH, with the amount of sharts he puts out, I might wait for the next one.

yianna, if H was awake enough to ask, he can get out of the bed and help.

yianna I make him get up if the toddler wakes motn and he usually stumbles back to our room, looks at the clock before grumbling and deciding he's up for the day. He doesn't even try to go back to sleep. Then he MAKES AS MUCH NOISE AS POSSIBLE getting dressed. Then of course has the audacity to complain. He's usually up at 4 to go to work so if he doesn't get to "sleep in" on his days off he's grumpy then too. Like he literally thinks I should still be the one getting up with both kids at 6 while he stays in bed.

Did I tell you guys that SO came home at 2 one day after his shift and TURNED ON THE TV in our room. Which woke up me and the baby and we were both pissed. He was all, it wasn’t the TV thatbwoke you guys up. So I left him with the screaming baby and went to sleep with DS1.
Like clearly he had been abducted by aliens. And he has not done that again.

katietopaz, I hear you on the toddler acting out. We've had some loud screeching, whining (which she never used to do), striking us, and telling one parent that the other one "said it was OK" when clearly it was a fib.

Congrats tinyjoys, she is so adorable! Love the name! Hope you are recovering well. I’m totally there on being annoyed at the H bc of MOTN stuff. We made a “deal” a few weeks ago that anything after 5 am is him so I can get a few more hours of sleep. That was working well but DS1 has been rocking overnights with the potty training so that means he is up at 6-6:30 am because he needs to pee. And then he’s loud. So I’m up for the day. So I’m only getting around 5 hours per night with an hour wake up in the middle. I need more like 7+. I’m just so tired. All the time. I have no idea how I’ll cope once I go back to work. I’m terrible when I get no sleep.

On the positive side this kid is getting better at dream feeds. I just fed him and he was pretty much still asleep so I’ve only been up for 30 minutes. He goes down so much easier when he doesn’t fully wake up for his MOTN feeding.
(Of course as I type this he is in there grunting and thrashing about...go back to sleep kid!!!)

MH is a big whiny baby. He didn’t leave bed once last night but he is sooo tired from hearing the baby grunt for five seconds before I scoop her up and feed her for eleventy Hours. Today is his last day of leave so it’s going to get exponentially worse because he will cry about being so tired for work.
And I’ll try not to stab him.

tinyjoys she's gorgeous! Congrats again. Leaf 🌱 leave it unless it seems to be bugging them. I use Vaseline for nighttime diaper changes as a moisture barrier just in case. yianna wake him up!! Why don't men hear the babies??

He just fed the toddler and brought me coffee and a poptart while I nurse the baby. I guess he can stay. I wonder how I’m going to do this alone tomorrow.

Last night was another awful night of sleep with my 3 little ones. I was awake from midnight until 4:30 a.m. Ugh. Today is DD1's 4th birthday and she woke puking. Poor girl.
