I'm embarrassed to say how much time I spend trying to figure out what George Conway's tweets mean.

I'm reading Madeleine Albright's Fascism and
1) I highly recommend. It is easy to read. She writes well (with help from Bob Woodward), and
2) when Mussolini first came to power, he had a campaign to "drenare la palude." Drain the swamp.

I will seriously start flipping tables if there is any serious talk of a Nobel Peace Prize. Maybe I'm late to this party, but I had to say something before reading the rest of the thread. Trump supporters have absolutely positively NOTHING to say about who gets the Nobel Peace Prize. A Republican MOC or professor could nominate him, but I'm guessing the Norwegian selection committee would laugh and immediately dump it in the trash. Considering how the rest of the democratic world views him with disgusted horror, I feel very confident in saying that he will not be winning the Nobel Peace Prize. There are many things to worry about with his presidency, but this is not one of them.

Kelly has a savior complex - he alone stands between us and catastrophe, has called Trump an idiot multiple times, and sources say he's leaving in July. Oh and he talked Trump out of withdrawing from Korea completely pre-Olympics. Ugh. This line: If anything, they said during meetings Kelly is the "bigger gentleman" who steps in when aides use foul language to note "a lady is present" and similarly says he shouldn't use foul language in front of a lady if he's used an expletive. That doesn't make him a gentleman, it makes him a sexist piece of shit. It assumes women are too frail to hear those rough "man" words. Fuck that patriarchal bullshit. I'm a lady, and I curse like one too.

Marco Rubio says that the "tax cuts" for corporations have not been reinvesting the money they saved in the American Worker with "bonuses". Hmmm almost like we all knew that would happen. Company CEOs would be greedy and keep the money for them selves and prop up their board members with more shares than to give any of it to the people who actually make them money. Because corporate America is a "swamp" if you will that they are doing nothing to "drain" if you will. Its funny to see how conservative values based in Christian support of those who need help was, as we constantly see with republican priorities, see month and like sharks jump on it for themselves and turn their original points into complete and utter bullshit. Hands down they promised that the money would help the average working person, the company saw how much they got, said fuck that, turned around and kept it for the top 1%. But conservative talking points and values are correct guys, they have the moral high group. Also he hints that even if they did bring back manufacturing jobs those who are hoping that it will be like the 50s or 60s are sadly mistaken and should look elsewhere. Buts according to this quote, him and his family are ok guys so don't worry. Source: Rubio Admits the Depressing Truth About Republicans' Tax Cut Bill

Broken clock, and all. I mean, economists SAID all this when the tax cut bill was being considered and he still voted for it anyway. Call me cynical but I think he's seeing reports of how the tax cuts are affecting Florida and is trying to get out in front of it to help keep the other senate seat red in November. And better position himself for 2020?

Don't complain about not getting a HIPPA release form when you discussed medical information publicly about your patient before the "raid".

Or what did they think the former doctor would do with the files? The article says Bornstein told the press he had been prescribing Trump hair growth stuff for years. So I guess they were worried he’d release other stuff. But if that’s true, why isn’t anyone going after Bornstein for a HIPAA violation?

But if that’s true, why isn’t anyone going after Bornstein for a HIPAA violation? Part of me thinks it's coming. Part of me also thinks that suing him for HIPAA violations means admitting he's not lying about the medications, and I don't think Trump wants people to know he's been taking propecia and being treated for rosacea etc.

I’m also not super well versed on the legalities here of whether they can actually take Trump’s files. I mean, obviously they did, and things could obviously be different in NY, but here you can get a copy of your records but the physician/facility retains a copy as well.

Anyone want to talk about the #RedforEd teacher walk out? It's on day 4 today. Expected thru at least tomorrow. There has been a LOT of support for the teachers doing this, way more than I expected in AZ.
BUT it's likely to start to get ugly, as in AZ we don't have very many extra days or hours built into our school year, so going to school in AZ after Memorial day for another week+ is going to piss off so many people, impacting summer camps, summer jobs. Not sure how many schools will end up having to postpone high school graduations or keep them as planned since announcements have been printed but somehow try to get those graduating seniors to come back and put in their missing seat hours in June?
Legislature and governor keeps talking giving the teachers a 20% pay raise over next few years, which sounds great. but often still taking it from other places that need all the money they can get like highways and police. And not adding any more money for the school support staff, or the building funds. We have schools that need to be completely rebuilt, but hey $100k will certainly cover that, right? what are they smoking? They've stolen money allocated for teachers/schools as well as wildlife to use for highways and police and other issues for years. There appears to be a lot of mismanagement of funds.
They have passed I believe an additional car registration fee estimated to be $18-24 per year, with the idea of fixing the highways and paying the police--but if there is extra it could go to teachers. But with the roads in such poor shape in some areas of the state, how would there ever be extra?
I know teachers who at 15 years of teachers with a masters are making less than they did when they stared teaching as a first year teacher, since pay has gone down, not up.

From what I've read, its not just pay as you've said. But also buildings and supplies like current textbooks. I think I saw that first quarter corp tax savings was in the area of 3.5 BILLION, imagine how many schools could be built, or new books or paying teachers their worth.
