I've sorta been MIA with C's surgery but still reading and LTing. C has been acting like nothing ever happened. Completely normal and no signs of pain. He gets really confused when I show up in the middle of the night with meds and a new diaper but luckily goes back to sleep again. I'm exhausted on the other hand. And now I'm trying to figure out how to keep him entertained all day without his jumper.

Hey hey. My mom is having surgery today so I'll be spending most of the weekend keeping het company (surgery is on her foot so she'll be laid up a bit). Right now we're just relaxing watching Cat In The Hat.

goldenlove, so glad C seems to be doing well! Sorry for how exhausted you are but hopefully you can get some rest this weekend. I'm sure it's a relief to have the surgery behind you! danib best wishes for your mom's surgery.

Morning! Glad C seems to be recovering well goldenlove! danib is this the same foot/ankle your mom broke a while back? Just got home from camp drop-off. If I can get some laundry and housework done I'm going to reward myself with a trip to Ballard Designs to look at a couple potential items for the new house. I need C's cooperation, so we shall see how this goes...

I woke up today with a clogged duct on my left side. I did some massage and hand expression in the shower but was still in pain when I got to work. So right now I'm pumping just that side so I can do some serious massaging. I think I got it finally. Not sure how else I'd be getting 4+ oz out of one side in only 9 minutes haha!
I'm putting this one all one D. She had been sleeping beautifully for weeks but the past 4 nights has started waking up. The wake up is happening on the early side (between 1 and 2:30) so I don't think she's hungry, and when I pick her up to nurse her she isn't nursing vigorously, so I know she isn't hungry. Sure enough, the side she "fed" on at 2:00 this morning is the side with a clog. It's time to sleep train her but I can't take that on until this trial is over, so I guess I'm just going to have to be extra vigilant with my pump until then.

Yes it is flamingo. It's been roughly a year now and she's still having pain and her foot doesn't have full range of movement. They're going to go in and clean up some of the fragments. It's 50/50 whether or not it will help, but with her lifestyle (nurse, soon her feet for 12 hour shifts, plus her physical activity and body building) she has to try.

Best wishes for your mom's surgery danib! Ouch dashook. I'm glad you got it worked out! flamingo I think that's how you know we must be getting old, furniture and house shopping is exciting! I LOVE Home Goods and would rather shop there then for clothes most times! goldenlove I'm so glad the surgery went well! And I knew he'd be his normal self! B was so happy and smiley after. You would have never known he ever had surgery! He didn't even need pain meds.

J woke up nice and early today so he is he currently taking a nice long nap. That's nice and all but that usually means his afternoon nap will be crap.
It's another beautiful day. We are having a stretch of awesome weather so we will get outside again this afternoon. I will probably fill up the kiddie pool and the water table and let the kids splash around. I really wish we had a splash pad/spray park nearby but the closest one is not really close.

waitwhat yes! DH and I have said the same thing about getting old and fixing up the house...even my H has gotten more into furniture/design. We also love a good Home Depot run, lol. @goldenlove3 we'll need some odds and ends for the living room, and a media console for the family room TV. Our last house had built-ins flanking the fireplace (our TV was over the mantle) so we could keep all the components in there and out of sight.

waitwhat I was going to stop pain meds after this mornings dose but MIL told H we should keep doing it for pain management so now H wants to keep it up until tomorrow. But he's not acting like he's in pain at all so *shrug*.

My sister's bridezilla just demoted her from MOH to "you're welcome as a guest" because she said she might not be able to make the rehearsal that's on a Thursday. She lives 2 hours away and has a new job. Apparently the bride has another friend who isn't working and would be happy to take over. Wtf?? The wedding is in a month.

I really love the fact that winter is over and we don't have to bundle kids up in coats, hats, boots etc. BUT I'm so over having to lather kids up with sunscreen every time we go outside. #fwp I know.

I guess she was offering to step down from MOH because she could tell the bride wasn't happy about things but she didn't expect to get kicked out of the wedding party.

Tgif! Hope the surgery goes well danibIt's a gorgeous day here and my boss is hosting a BBQ at her house at 4, so I will leave around 3 to go get the kids and schlep to her house. Since it's pretty far, mh isn't coming...my work friend is excited to hold N and my boss has kids, so hopefully everything will go smoothly 😬. MH got mad at me last night bc apparently I give non answers to questions.. he asked if my aunt knows my second cousin well (he's a professional baseball player) and I said "eh, she's close with his uncle and grandfather". Apparently I do this all the time and should just say "i don't know" rather than implying it. So we didn't talk most of the night, so that was fun. I was tempted to sleep on the couch just to see what he'd do when N woke up multiple times, but didn't, but kind of regret it since I'm pooped now.

Wowww goldenlove that is super petty. Next level shitty friend. What is it about weddings that brings out the terrible in people?! I know you didn't ask for advice, but before stopping the pain meds cold turkey can I suggest just starting off my lengthening the time in between doses first? That way if the meds are covering the pain and he does still need them it won't take as long for them to relieve any discomfort. Where as if you just stop them and his pain level increases you'll be starting at the bottom and it will take longer for the pain level to come down. It's easier to keep pain under control than it is to bring a 10 back to a 2. KWIM? Now, he is a baby and kids do ridiculously well so it's very possible he's not bothered at all...that's just my 2 cents that may only be worth a penny at this point.

Ohh hugs tallb I hate fights like that. So not worth arguing over, and yet it happens anyway. I hope it's easily resolved and you have a great time at your BBQ.

And then add sand stuck to the sunscreen. Awful. Prekids Vino was all 'yay sandbox for my kids, it's so great and they'll love it'' Post kids Vino is all 'what park has no sand, we're going there kids'

Like did your sister already buy a bridesmaid dress? Our Best Man wasn't able to make it to the rehersal due to work. It's not the end of the world. We just told him what he needed to know (stand here, walk there, give the Priest the rings when he asks for them).

Thanks, we acted mostly normal this morning. Just annoys me that he likes to point out my bad habits and I never do his (minus his inability to open frozen vegetable bags properly). And his version of a "discussion" seems more like a fight or him picking on me, so he never sees why he should apologize. Blerg.

This sounds like a lucky break to me. I feel bad for the dingbat maid that volunteered to be the new MOH. Good luck and Godspeed, girlfriend...you're gonna need it. ETA: on a serious note, I'm sorry that your sister is hurt. And I'm sure she's out money for dress, etc? (I'm guessing Bridezilla isn't jumping in to reimburse her for the expenses she's incurred). What a hag.

So, I ran out of size 4 diapers earlier this week so I've been sticking J in B's size 5's. And they fit. Like, better than the size 4's. This is mind boggling to me because B just went up to size 5 maybe two months ago? At 21 months. So how is it that my 7 month old can wear size 5's?! I'm debating just buying one size from now on. Makes the most sense to me.
