Our birthday party is going to be mostly family (we invited two friends w/ kids but I'm not sure either are coming yet) - do I need favors for people/kids?? We didn't do favors for ds1's first birthday. I may do a small activity with a take home product at ds2's party just because there will be more older (3-5 year olds) cousins/neighbors. Ds2's bday is in October so I'm doing a Halloween theme.

Okay, this actually goes here. What kind of cake for the kiddos? Are you doing a healthy cake? Regular cake? Smash cake? A small cake just for him, so I guess I could call it a smash cake. Mil is making it. She wanted to make the bigger cake but Dh was hesitant. Plus we already ordered it from Costco.

piratecat also, what is a 'healthy cake'? Lol. There are some cake recipes out there specifically for babies, I think with applesauce or carrots, etc. but mostly lacking sugar I think.

I just buy a regular cake from our favorite bakery.
I am not a fan of smash cakes and I have no reason to feel so strongly against them but I am (for my kids obviously).

German chocolate cake for DS2 (I needed a cake that didn’t have dairy, so I made it). I did store bought chocolate cupcakes for DS1 on his first. He’s also had red velvet. DS2 prefers the chocolate though lol

I haven't done anything for this party aside from inviting people. I need to get on that I guess.
