Welcome to the IVF check-in for April 24! Check-ins will be every Monday (jacks) and Thursday (bonzo). If we've left you off the check-in, or if you'd like to be added or removed, please let us know! This is a check-in for those who are doing IVF or FET. Please don’t hesitate to use this check-in for IVF/FET info and support even if you’re not currently cycling. If you are interested in joining, please fill us in on your cycle. Everyone is welcome. Also, please update us along the way! Asterisks will appear by your name if you do not update us in a check-in. After four consecutive asterisks (2 weeks), you will be removed from the list. Don’t fret if you are removed from the list, check in again and we will add you back. Once you get a strong repeat beta, congrats! We eagerly await your 3TIF Grad Check-In posts! We encourage you to intro on PAIF, and while here in the meantime, please consistently use warning tags in posts and siggies, and be mindful of your status, especially on 3TIF outside this check-in. I attempted this on mobile, so hopefully I didn’t miss any updates from anyone!
I took a little break to mope, but now I’m back! I still haven’t spoken to my doctor about the plan, but I did call my nurse last week about my progesterone shots. She mentioned that the doctor had mentioned doing a uterine lining biopsy. Has anyone done this? You basically do a whole prep cycle but they take a biopsy instead of transferring. I just don’t know if I have it in me to waste a whole prep cycle.
I’ll wait until I hear what he says, but I’d like to just push the transfer back a few days. My cycle tends to be about 35 days, so I feel like they just didn’t give my body enough time.

Thanks for the check in, jacks. I'm so sorry about your BFN. Do you have a follow up with the RE before you plan next steps? My diet changes are mostly going ok. This week I'm in rehearsals every night, and packing both a lunch and a dinner is proving to be a bit tricky. I did a lot of meal prep last week, but this weekend my schedule got thrown off due to a major power outage at work, so I worked on Sunday instead of meal prepping. And H tries, but it's not his strong suit. So I'm scrambling a bit this week, but I'll get back on track once this show opens.

jacks I have heard of that. I definitely hear you on wasting a cycle. Time slips away from you so fast in IF land. When do you meet with your RE? My betas are looking good this time around. Went from 116 to 311 to 782. I have an US on the 30th to make sure all looks okay. I just wanted to say...I know its a small group these days but honestly it has been so helpful to have a place and people to vent to who truly understand what you are going through. I am so thankful for that. [\Spoiler]

jacks, thanks for the check-in. I did a biopsy to check to see if my lining was receptive. Is this the kid of biopsy your RE was taking about? Apparently some women's linings are not ready/receptive when you would typically do a transfer, so no matter how good the embryo is it won't work because your body isn't receptive to it. Apparently the timeframe that your body is receptive is actually quite small. I know all about not wanting to wait, but it is useful information to have. Let me know if you'd like more info about it! bonzo, I think you're doing great with your meal planning and prepping considering you didn't get to do it in the weekend. Giving up and saying "oh well, the week is a wash" would be so tempting. Way to go! jense927 everything crossed for continued great news! AFM, AF showed so I'm hoping my body cooperates and I have a normalish cycle so we can transfer next cycle and I don't have to wait forever. My body almost never cooperates though so I'm guessing it'll be a long wait.

jacks, I haven't done an ERA, but I know some grads have. It sounds like it can give valuable information for timing transfers. jense927, yay for good beta rises! FX all looks great st ultrasound! sally, FX your body cooperates and you can start transfer prep!

I finally spoke to my doctor yesterday and sounds like we’ll be doing the biopsy. He said we’d be able to go right in to the next cycle after the biopsy, so probably next transfer will be late June or early July.
I think I’ve been mourning losing out on my “ideal” age spacing for kids, and just accepting that nothing is perfect and it will be ok. Having that realization yesterday has kind of helped ease my anxiety about how long this process will take.

bonzo I’m also terrible at meal prep. If I don’t have dinner leftovers, I struggle to make smart choices. My doctor also mentioned increasing uterine blood flow, so I guess I should look more in to what I can do. jense927 I have everything crossed for a great u/s next week! sally Hopefully your body cooperates and you can start your prep soon!

Hi everyone this is my first post over here, hopefully this is the right place for me I don't think I have a signature? If I do, please let me know and I will get on my desktop to hide it. ***TW, children mentioned and I don't know how to spoiler** I'm getting ready to do my first IVF cycle next month as a gestational carrier for my sister. She had cervical cancer and due to radiation she is unable to carry a baby or have biological children. I have two children of my own and since I know how important having a family is to them I wanted to do this for them. We're using donor eggs and BIL sperm. I have orders ready to go, just need to call CD1 to finalize details. I'm feeling a bit nervous about it, mostly the unknowns since the doctor really hasn't given me any details. I feel a bit in the dark and I'm afraid to google because that always turns out badly. My sister is feeling the same way, just poor communication from the clinic all around. Anyways, if I don't belong please tell me to leave, I won't be offended.

Welcome, wineandcake! I don't think we've had someone in your situation come into the check in while I've been here, but I don't see any reason why this wouldn't be the right place for you while you prep for your transfer. You'll be going through the same transfer prep as the rest of us, so while the exact situation is different I think this is the perfect place for you right now!

Hi ladies, I’d love to join in! I was pretty active on TTC on the other board before the move but haven’t really got back into the swing of things over here. I look forward to getting to know you and miss having my internet people!
I’m excited and nervous to start my first IVF cycle. Started birth control Tuesday and will go for sonogram Monday with the hope of starting shots the following Sunday.
Our diagnosis is MFI with very low morphology.

Knee surgery went perfectly this morning - other than the anesthesia making me puke afterwards!
Curled (...sort of) up with a blanket, netflix, and I will shortly be having a Vicodin and sprite cocktail with a cracker chaser.
