I think, in Trump's mind, "I didn't spend the night there" means, "I didn't sleep there "
Doesn't make it ok. But I think *he thinks* he's telling the truth.

Have we discussed the "sleepy eyes" nickname and anti-Semitism? Trump loves to call Chuck Todd "sleepy eyes" which (and I honestly had no idea about this) is an anti-Semitic slur. This has been brought to the attention of his handlers, and he's still saying it.

Huh. WaPo reporting that Ronny Jackson's confirmation hearing (to be VA Secretary) is being pushed back due to ongoing investigation into his qualifications. Republican lawmakers would have had to trigger this delay. I'm surprised.

I think some Senate GOPers know it's a bridge too far and they're buying time to find a way for him to back out of the nomination instead of voting against him/Trump.

I'm honestly not surprised. I think he was hanging on for Babs. That poor family I hope he recovers. I'm also not surprised. It's suprisingly common for spouses to die within weeks of each other when they've been together that long. I do hope he recovers too.

ETA: And that is the end of my random trivia about Bush 41. I read a book about his squadron of pilots. He was one of the only ones (maybe the only one) to survive that mission. So many were captured by the Japanese. Some were tortured to death. The rest (almost all?) died in captivity. He was shot down, but rescued by the Allies. He was really only a small part of the book, because it was more about how POW were treated by the Japanese.

Keith testified that Trump was in his room for several hours with and without his bodyguard outside Using a room to"shower and change" takes maybe an hour and that still leaves several hours unaccounted for. I'm skeptical about the existence of the pee tape, but, "I didn't sleep over" =\= I didn't spend time alone behind closed doors with prostitutes

dc2london I wish I could remember the title of the book, but I read a lot of WWII history, so it's hard to recall. ETA: And of course you quoted before I finished making changes.

I just assumed that Dr. Ronny didn't have enough ties to corporate interests and/or Russia to allow for the GOP looking the other way. They let a lot of people slide through confirmations, I can't buy that he is someone they suddenly care about confirming.
Although it does sound like he has more to him than just lying on a physical or lack of management experience.

Just sayin'.

And I highly doubt he would go to bed if Trump isn't in his room for the night.

I don’t know what to make of the allegations against Jackson. I don’t think he’s qualified to be in charge of the VA but I’m a bit surprised by what’s being said. I wonder if the stuff like inappropriate prescribing was missed because I think at least our last two presidents were sort of known for not taking a lot of medicine?

This is so depressing and not at all surprising. My heart goes out for this young man. And I don't for a second believe that they don't have a record of his arrest and deportation from Cali. They are suppressing it and trying to frame it differently.
