Okay, so my old list of "yeses"
Boy: Desmond Dominic Griffin
Girl: Cecelia Iris Louisa
These are all most likely for sure no's now. Dominic, Cecelia, and iris are too popular. Griffin and Desmond are more popular than I'd like (I'd prefer 400 or higher on SSA). Louisa was never a yes for MH and he has now said he doesn't like it at all.
My taste and my husband's are so different. He doesn't like any names that he knows someone by. But it can't be too unknown or he thinks it's weird.
We keep finding names we like but are too popular for me. Popularity is a HUGE deal breaker for me. I've nixed names we both love because it's popular. I just cant.

MH would choose vivian/Vivienne for a girl. I love it too. But *TW* it was the name we chose for the pregnancy we lost and it feels wrong to use it now. *End TW* and it's popular.

okay, please don't quote the below section bc i will delete personal info later.
-------------------------------- poof
---------------------------------- so yeah, we're not really crazy about any of these. i want it to flow with the other two names.
for a girl we may use a family name, but even if we don't we have way more options to pick from.
boy suggestions, please!!!

vvvvvfee I think Enzo and Leo are both fine as is. They're both acceptable names without being short for anything IMO. I like Evander, I don't think I've ever heard that. Leander made me think of Leland. I love Leland but MH vetoed because its a common name where he's from. 🙄

vvvvvfee Here's some similar to the ones you posted: Arno Aldo Laszlo Matteo Nico Theo Cyrus Alaric Reuben Anders Oscar Otto Otis Gideon Archer Jasper Julian Arthur Simon *These are all names I found by looking up names you listed/your boys names. And I didn't check popularity, so I'm unsure where they all fall.

notmoose , some of the name on my list might be your style (I like names that aren't popular too) Genevieve Lorelei Liliana Analise Gwendolyn Seraphine Marguerite Aveline (too close to DD's name, but I love it) For a boy, we loved Alistair, Rylen, and Rowan (Rowan was a girl name contender too).

Almost all your girl names were on my list but MH vetoed. I tried hard for Lorelei and Genevieve! Rowan is on our maybe list for a boy, but MH doesn't love it. I've tried to get him on board with Ronan, but that didn't happen.

This was our short list of boy names and includes the FN/MN we ended up using for DS1 and also our leading contender FN/MN for DS2. I found out I was having boys very early both times (thanks to being AMA and qualifying for cfDNA testing) so we never really thought much about girl names. Some of these are family names and some are names DH and I just liked and/or discussed.
Charles Nathaniel Ian Arthur Colin Felix Reid Paul Raymond Mark or Marcus Owen Theodore
Alice Gwendolyn Sarah Ruth

It's down between Rosel.yn Yu.na and Jos.ephine Yu.na. *insert harsh sounding german name with lots of consonants* H is good with both. Only thing is I'm not fond of Rosie (H loves it), but I love Josie (go figure). Or Jo.
DD is Evel.ine So.ra. (pronounced eh-vah-leen). Finding middle names that are actual names in both Korean and Japanese is harder than it sounds.

The name we picked is popular but I just really love this name. I honestly had no idea that it was popular until I read the names list. I thought about changing it but it's the only name that I felt a connection to with the baby so I think we are set on using it.

FX my cousin doesn't use Connor in any capacity because MH made a list of names he likes, and I didn't like any of them. At all. 😂
MH's name starts with a C, and for a minute I wasn't sure I wanted a C name. But I'll have to get over it because we have not one other name we both like.

So here's where we're at: DD is Amelia Louise. (Short, generic last name) We loved her FN before we were even TTC, plus being big fans of the 11th Doctor (aka nerds), it was an easy choice. MN is same as me, my mom, both of my grandmas, as well as my great great aunt's FN, and I inherited her wedding rings. All obvious choices. She self nicknamed as Mia before she could say her whole name correctly, but prefers to be called Amelia now. We liked Amy, Millie, and Mia as NNs.
When we were naming DD, our boy name was Oliver Thomas. That has since gotten EVEN MORE popular, and my (close) cousin used Thomas as a MN for her boy (it's my only boy cousin's FN). I absoluely LOVE Ollie as a NN, I think it's adorable. We also like the idea of giving DS a name with a vowel, since we all have vowel names (H is AMR, I am ELR, DD is ALR, for reference), but I'd settle for a name we actually like! Here's my short list, is there anything we're missing? Somehow I don't like all the "old-man" names as much as I love the "old-lady" names for girls. If this baby was a girl, her name would be Eleanor or Alice (H doesn't vote in this imaginary world). I don't mind popular (H and I have permanent top 10-20 names), but would like it to not be top 5. Issac (NN Ike) Theodore (Theo) Oliver (Ollie) Peter Ethan (close friends just named their boy this, plus popular, so I think it's out) John Wayne (H's pick - my dad's FN and his dad's MN) Philip (I really like this, but I know one in real life who is just lame) Titus (family name, my side)
Anything I'm missing?

potatocakes, Evan (Evander), Alexander, Elliot? I love Oliver. And tbh, shared middle names wouldn't be a big deal for me, as MNs rarely get used anyways. Or maybe use Theodore or Titus as a MN instead?

My DS1 and my nephew share the same MN and I don’t think it’s a big deal. And his FN is the same as one of DH’s cousins’ kids. But she has 8 kids so taking all those names off the table is impossible...

I’m really anxious about what William and Kate are going to name the new royal baby. They better not use our preferred name because you KNOW it’s going to get super-popular.

Boy names are hard. With DS1, we just knew. He's James Matthew. Matthew after dad and James, just because we love it. He goes by James. No nicknames unless he decides on something once he's old enough to have a preference.
This one is going to be Zachary Michael. Michael after DH's late grandpa. I don't feel as connected to it, but I still really like it. I'm ok with Zach for him.

We are so behind on this naming game....
I thought we were set on the middle name. DH likes matchy names, I don’t at all. Compromised to agree that our middles can sound somewhat similar. DD’s is Danielle, DS’s is Nathaniel, and DH agreed to Gabrielle for the baby (one of my favorite names he vetoed as a first name option).
First names: DD is Jocelyn, DS is Isaac, don’t want matchy so no names starting with J or I and no names ending with N or C. We both agreed months ago that we liked Cecilia, but now neither one of us thinks it’s the one. After I threw out about 50 possible names, DH finally approved 2 names; of those we have different favorites. I won’t mention my concerns, looking for open feedback and other, similar suggestions? And we’ll probably need to revisit the middle name since it doesn’t go well with all of these.
Cecilia Delilah Eleanor

tarheelmom I’ve always loved Eleanor, after the First Lady. She’s an amazing namesake and I would have loved to have a daughter to name her after. Delilah is one of those names I also loved, but was never a realistic choice for us since were both from the PNW, and that name feels like it’s more Southern.
