I think I told y'all when I was younger I had to have all of my teeth pulled by the dentist because they'd never become loose in order for my adult teeth to drop down. They pulled them all except one because I dug it out myself the night before my appointment. Those shots hurt like a bitch and I did not want to get another one.
My mother never came back with us anytime we went to the dentist, until the end of the appt when the dentist would speak to her. I was several years older than M though. I just don't want her to be scared.
My sister told me today that they have a numbing cream that they can put on the gums before getting the shots, like a topical anesthetic. I wonder if our pediatric dentist has it. I'm going to ask about it when he calls me tomorrow night. The last time I had a cavity filled I did not get any sort of numbing cream. Granted it was a while ago but I doubt this is a new thing.

tallb Where in Mexico are you going? I’m also going on Thursday to Playa del Carmen. Speaking of going to Mexico, i need to pack some loose Miralax without looking like im smuggling drugs. Any ideas? My miralax is from Costco so there’s no way I’m bringing that giant tub. I don’t want to be without though in case O won’t poop there.

My dentist here is the first that I've known to use the numbing gel. Those shots hurt like a bitch, but the gel is magical and makes it so easy. I wonder why every dentist doesn't use it?

Don't open it until you get there! Lol. I was just going to Cali and they took everything out of my bag. I had a bunch of snacks in ziploc baggies in my carry on. I had the miralax in there too because we didn't check any bags. They did some sort of testing on it. They do the same testing when i'd bring formula on the plane. Even if it's unopened.

Awww I feel bad for all these kiddos needing dental work! They checked Gunners teeth last week when G got hers cleaned to see how he would do.... he did fine then but I don’t actually see it going well next time.
Remember getting dental work done when I was a kid. I didn’t know it involved shots- the dentist just told me I was going to feel him pinch me and I actually thought he was just pinching me. It hurt but it never scared me because I didn’t know it was a shot, just thought he was pinching me with his fingers. Lol

They let me go today, I told the hygenist she wasn't ready to go back by herself. I did notice when our hygenist left us while waiting for the dentist, another one told her she needed to sit with us, although I'm not sure why. The flyer they gave me said they prefer for parents to not come back with them during procedures. Like tgrimes, I get it, they want the children to ask them questions and not the parent, but I just want to be there to comfort her when (because she will) she cries.

Destination wedding so I barely know anything except flight times. Are you at a resort? I don't plan on leaving the resort, last time we went to playa for a night, but we are only there for 3 nights, so just staying put.

I had one of those "appliances" when I was 5 or so that you had to tighten with with the little key daily--I guess it expanded my upper teeth/palette b/c I had an underbite. I HATED that thing, used to just dread my mom bringing the key out. Really hoping my kids won't need anything like that!
I think I had one or two little cavities filled at some point, but I have no recollection. I've only had one done in my adult teeth and it was more preventative--filling a natural groove in the tooth or some such. I have no memory of that either, so obviously it didn't make much of an impression!

Signed Cadence up for her new dance school. It will start this summer.
Her first swim class in the lower level was Saturday. She was the only kid there, so she got a private lesson.

I've also been racking my brain about what we could differently. This time around his problem areas are between teeth, too. They say he is doing good with the surfaces. They recommended a paste we could put on his teeth after he brushes to help fight decay. I'll probably try it out because too much of my money is being spent at the dentist. We have a kids fluoride rinse. It comes in a nemo bottle and is self pump. Might be worth a try. I got it at Walmart in the teeth section We use one, too. As soon as he became good at spitting we started it.

I had blocked out the fact that it's entirely possible for a two - three week-old baby to stay awake for 90 minutes to four hours. But Poppy is reminding me. YAY!

I'm sorry for your loss, guster. Hope you have a nice visit with the family, all things considered. Hope your week starts to improve vastly, tallb. You guys are making me nervous about our next trip to the dentist. Dude hasn't let them do x-rays. Is everyone getting the fluoride varnish each visit? I swear that must be our saving grace.

We finally got an architect to help us with our addition so we should have some plans in the next couple weeks.
X has his 18 month visit (two months late) this afternoon. Not sure if he needs any shots. I need to ask her what she wants to do about the fact that he still only eats pouches. You'd never know it to look at him though. He's only a head shorter than Atticus and 32 pounds.

Or, they also make single serve pouches, that are easy to throw in a purse or something. You can buy a box of them, then just take what you need.

I’m jealous of our Mexico bound ladies!
We had no internet or phones at the office this morning so I packed up my laptop and came home to work. But it’s so hard to work without my 2 monitors. They have spoiled me! But I’m also watching tv while working, and doing laundry, and packing for STL. And my cleaning lady is here. I love cleaning lady day!!!

I hope the doctor gives you some extra time off wineallthetime! Hospital time should not count! ☺️ Snip Over here it doesn’t, I found out last year! You have the right to be home with your baby for at least 10 weeks. So if the first 5 weeks are spend in the hospital, you get and additional 5 weeks of leave. I wasn’t familiar with this arrangement and I think it’s really neat. Keeping everything crossed for you wineallthetime.
