Morning. I'm having the upholstered pieces in the family room cleaned this morning so that has been going on; I think he's about finished, though. Not sure what is on our agenda the rest of the day; it's chilly here but at least the sun is back out. I might try and sneak out to get my nails done once my H gets home this afternoon, since tomorrow is t-ball practice and I leave for FL on Thursday

We skipped nap yesterday and Letty fell asleep while we were watching a movie at 6:55 last night.... so no nap might be our new thing if it’s going to make bed time that easy 👌🏼

Geez, what is with this age and the dentist?
B went for a cleaning when we were home in FL and has a couple spots that need to be filled, on back teeth almost in-between them or something. We are religious about teeth brushing, we floss his teeth at night, and he really doesn't eat a ton of junk, drinks mostly water or milk...I just don't know what we could have been doing differently.
MH and I both have really good teeth so I'm hoping we won't have issues with his adult teeth if we establish good habits now.

Cadence currently has a cavity that her dentist is just watching. She says it is still just surface and isn't worth drilling and filling. It seems like a lot of other dentists are straight to the drill and fill, though.

I don't think ours is overly aggressive, he had an eye on these spots at his check-up 6 months ago so it wasn't a shock...it's just like, geez!

Did I tell you M went last week and now we have more work in his future that will take more than one visit?? 🙁 Thanks - she has Parkinsons and it's been a sad and long decline. Our wedding was her last trip over 7 years ago. My heart is just so heavy for my cousins who all live on the west coast, but thankfully all 3 have seen her in the past month.

guster, I'm sorry for your loss. tallb, it's so hard to see people go through illness for so long. It sounds like she felt loved and I'm glad her kids were able to see her recently. I hope you have a better day today and am glad you have a trip to look forward to.

Morning. At the office. The sun is shining so hopefully all of this snow will melt fast.
I’ve been coming in at 9 (instead of 8:30) on Tuesdays since N started school last September because i have to drop her off. The last 3 Tuesday’s that my boss has been in the office he asks my coworkers where I’m at and they have to remind him I have preschool drop off. After the last time, I even talked to him about it to make sure there were no issues and he apologized saying he just forgets. Then he asked again today and my coworker said he acted like he had no idea this was a thing. I’m so annoyed by this!
And just yesterday he was saying we should catch up on things since he’s been gone so much and he was trying to get reassurance that I like my job. Well, I don’t and would love to quit. Someday...

I taught the kids a silly song I learned in elementary school called "Found a Peanut" sung to the tune of My Darlin' Clementine. Of course Maddie started singing "Found a Penis" and thought that was hysterical. Yesterday in taekwondo an older boy was giving her a shoulder massage when they were waiting in line. I thought this is a window into my future. On a lark I bought myself a membership to a massage a month plan at a local spa. I treat myself to something nice for just me maybe once every other year. Getting my teeth cleaned was seriously one of my personal times to myself. It was getting pathetic. I'm excited for it and it wasn't too expensive.

At Toddler Time at the trampoline place. Which means they have the whole place to themselves and not just a little tiny toddler area. Super nice to not have to try to Corral them to one tiny area. I'm hoping this results in good naps after all the fighting this morning.

This is my husband -- so over-the-top about brushing/flossing/rinising his teeth, and constantly has a new cavity almost every time he has to go to the dentist. It must be something about genes and not all hygiene. Although, I'm sure his meticulous hygienic ways keep him from having multiple cavities in every tooth Unfortunately, I think Charlie is taking after him as they've already seen a spot they need to keep an eye on.

M will do awesome, but it seems like a lot of work for teeth just to fall out. Grrrr They have estimated for B’s work is aprox two hours, so I’ve booked two appointments, but it may be more. The other option was to put him under and it would all be done in an hour without him knowing, but I prefer the laughing gas and I think he’ll he fine.

This time around his problem areas are between teeth, too. They say he is doing good with the surfaces. They recommended a paste we could put on his teeth after he brushes to help fight decay. I'll probably try it out because too much of my money is being spent at the dentist.

We took him in February for that. At his check up last week, he has areas of decay between his teeth. His teeth aren't even that close together. When we floss, it's not even hard to get between them. She basically said we should brush after he has any type of milk, juice, or sweets. It's on both sides. They don't recommend having to numb both sides at the same time on younger kids, so we have to go twice.

It’s genetics and I’ve had a couple people look at B’s and done a few x rays.. The cavities between the teeth are hard to prevent and if they aren’t filled it’s two teeth that are in jeopardy, so I would actually prefer them to be filled than worry about a deeper cavity forming and a possible infection.

I got it at Walmart in the teeth section

Don't think I ever said good morning! I'm back to work today. Nothing much happening, though. I do have to report that we ditched the night time pullups this weekend and so far so good. No accidents, yet. Every night we go over what he has to do if he has to go potty at night. Let's hope he keeps this up and we can be done for good.

It was really cheap, comes in a tube like toothpaste and is clear. We've been using it every night but they can't have any water for 30 min afterwards, so make sure if he wants a drink to do it before you put it on.

I hope the appt goes well today for B vino! We were just at the dentist yday. My B did fine and teeth look to be in good shape but we did get the thumb sucking lecture. I don’t really know what to say about that. She doesn’t want to quit yet so I don’t really feel that I can make her.

Just got back from the dentist here. They found a 'soft spot' on her back tooth, so we have an appointment later this month to take care of that. Dentist said she has really high ridges on top of her teeth, so we just need to hit them really good, because otherwise, everything looks fine.
So many tears shed taking xrays, to the point they got a plastic bag to put over her in case she threw up. But she let them get both sides, so hopefully next time won't be as traumatizing. I'm not looking forward to the filling though. They don't want the parents in the room while they do the filling, which I understand, but she's going to lose her shit and I'd like to be there to calm her down. I didn't ask about laughing gas...I hope that's what they use. I may call and ask, to put my mind at ease.

They wouldn't allow me in the room with M the first time they did the fillings because I was pregnant. MH went back there with her and they asked him to leave when they got started. They did end up using the laughing gas on her, which was pretty hilarious when they brought her out to us. This dentist asked me how M did the last 2 times. If you recall the last time when I took her to my dentist I ended up having to hold her down at the end until he finished. He'd prefer this to not happen this time. He said they'd rather not have me back there because it could make her more wound up, as she'd look for me to help her/remove her from a scary situation. I get it, but it still sucks.
