My kids looks when he stands up and if he sees a drop hanging on, he rips off a square to dab it. Sometimes.

I am just glad I am not alone, I thought for sure I was about to teach this kid wrong.
I will make sure to let my H know I still support his non wiping ways.

He also sits to pee.
I was just winging it teaching a boy to pee, clearly. But there isn’t a lot of pee mess in my bathroom so it works.

It seems like there's always more pee mess when my son sits down to pee. Like it somehow sneaks out of the space between the toilet base and the seat.

It seems like there's always more pee mess when my son sits down to pee. Like it somehow sneaks out of the space between the toilet base and the seat. It goes out the crack between the seat and the toilet unless they hold it down far enough. But the force of the stream will usually try to push it back up straighter. Pushing it down far enough into the toilet to pee can be like there is a kink in the hose. Also many boys have dual streams that go in two different directions especially noticeable when they have to pee a lot wjich also makes it easier to have pee go out the crack. Instead of Clorox wipes we kept baby wipes on the back if the toilet so they could clean up the seat or floor without using the 'harsh' chemical wipes. That worked well for years til we switched to disinfectant wipes. But make sure there is a trash can next to the toilet and no wipes flushed! No wipe of penis when peeing just shake a bit and go.

We use a square to dab the end. Well, this is what I do, I don't actually know what my H is showing him to do when he takes him potty. Hmm.

Uhhh...I think MH may sometimes dab the end with a piece of tp, but not always. I'm not looking forward to PTing this fetus in 4ish years 😬 when he's ready. Wait. Did I know you were having a boy????

I had a K student years ago that had a huge melt down day 1 of k because he needed to “wipe it” after using the urinal and there was no tp. It has stuck with me so no won’t be teaching DS to wipe for pee.

why is someone posting about that on FB? good lord. She babysits, so the worst part is she was calling out another mom 😬 I’m still stuck on this. Wut?! Calling out another mother on Facebook because her newly potty training son doesn’t wipe his penis is a level of judgy bullshit I can’t even comprehend. Also that would be that last time pee judger would ever be watching my kid.

Nope to pee wiping.
Currently working on poop wiping. It's not going well. My four year old has never been super independent. Ugh.

I just need to speak honestly and openly here for a minute. I am tired of censoring myself. This has got to be one of the silliest questions I have ever seen asked here. I use silly loosely.
I am also annoyed by those chiming in that have never potty trained a boy yet or that don't own a penis anatomically.

No wiping. Both boys will shake a little if some pee is remaining. It also makes me mentally sing Taylor Swift when they do it 😂
“Shake it off. Shake it off.”

Apparently he didn’t flush (fine remind him too) she then realized he didn’t use TP, then posted about it saying it so basic hygiene. So I was like damn, I don’t think my 8 he old SS wipes and I had no intention of teaching the LO.

So she’s shaming a 7 year old child on Facebook...we would be collectively losing our minds if this were a teacher doing this. I know she’s not a teacher but serious WTF to this lady. ETA even if was something he had done “wrong” I’m still WTF to her posting about it on Facebook. Talk to the child and/or the parents and keep it moving lady.

My SS was not happy when he started to enforce wiping his own butt, he is not independent and it was a challenge. I think it was right around 4/5 that he mastered it. It was before kindergarten that I know.

I've read some about teaching boys to pee in the potty sitting down. Maybe you'd need to wipe then? I'm not sure. My boys pee sitting down, they don't need to wipe and don't generally get it on the seat either. Peeing sitting down is so much cleaner. I haven't taught him to wipe after peeing, just poop.

I'm not teaching that to my DS but I would have just asked his dad and went with it. Assumed he knew as much, if not more, about how boys pee than me or judgy moms on facebook.
