Is it too early to wash baby clothes? I made myself a really overwhelming to do list. Alot of it involves moving heavy boxes, and furniture to get the rooms ready. But I feel like I need to do something!! I have newborn and 3 month clothes from DS washed and hung up already.

PennyCandy I feel the same way about work. I really don't want to go back after the baby. But I feel stuck because who would hire me now knowing that I will be taking 10-12 weeks off in August. I've heard so many stories about other ladies in this situation. And I've found that if they truly want to hire you, they will work with your maternity leave. If your unhappy, it's worth it to try. Thanks! That's what H said. I have been looking so we'll see what happens

Does anyone have any support belt recs? I did see some on Amazon. My job is standing/walking/bending for a total of usually 6ish hours a day. I would also wear it while doing housework sometimes. I wear jeans and a uniform shirt so it doesn't matter what it looks like. Other people wear them so it won't look super out of the ordinary. My PT recommended a serola belt. It's for sacroiliac support though so it may not be exactly what your looking for. I have more hip pain than back pain.

No furniture yet since we still need to get the room cleaned out. They are in storage totes right now so maybe I'll just rinse the totes and put then back in there? Or I could put them in my closet

But I feel like I need to do something!! I don't think so. I already started washing her things. They are locked away in the closet so it's not like they are getting dusty. I'm also a big planner who hates leaving things to the last minute so I like to stay on top of my to do list.

notmoose Yay! I'm glad the transition has gone well. I just turned DS's crib into a toddler bed in the hopes of moving him into his big boy bed and room soon. So far, so good. ETA: My DS is not quite 2 yet, so I'm nervous for the room transition. If I recall, your DS is a little older? Any tips? Not notmoose but we just moved DS from a crib to a queen almost 2 weeks ago. He's turning 3 on the 27th so he's a little bit older than your DS. I would suggest talking it up a lot to get him excited about it. We were working on his room for over a month so he was ready and excited for it. We didn't use a rail but one side of the bed is pushed back against the wall and I have my old body pillow on the floor just in case. We also have carpeting and a rug so there's extra cushion if he falls.

goldenbird, I got this belt during my first pregnancy and liked it. I did quite a bit of research before purchasing this one, as I wanted it for jogging and hiking during third trimester when I definitely needed a lot of support. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0113WE0QS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 pbandjelly, our DS's are the same age and I'm also having bed transition dilemmas. He sleeps in a pack'n'play right now (we never got a crib) and I want to move him out of it soon so that we can move the PNP to our bedroom for the baby because it also doubles as a changing table and a bassinet. I'm a minimalist and the idea of getting either a toddler bed or another PNP for such a short period of time kills me, so I'm thinking of just putting DS1 directly into a twin bed with a guard rail.

goldenbird I have the same belt freckles mentioned. It works well for me and doesn't show under my shirt. frecklesnbrains We plan to move him into a full size bed in his new room, so I don't have to buy another crib or a bigger bed when he gets older. I feel you on the not wanting more than is necessary.

frecklesnbrains we just transitioned my DD (2.5) to a toddler bed (ikea bed with a rail). It took about 3-4 weeks for her to get used to it. She's still pretty nonverbal, so explaining things to her didn't work. She finally started climbing out of her crib, so we figured it was time. She sleeps fine in it now, but that first month, I was exhausted. She often sneaks out of her bed to climb into ours. I found if I lock her in there while she's falling asleep, she tries to escape, realizes she can't, then just gives up and goes to bed lol. She does still come into our room in the morning a lot, so I'm not sure how that's going to work out with a newborn in the bed too. I plan on putting the pnp in our room, but I nurse cosleeping a lot. I wanted a twin sized bed, but the room they'll be sharing isn't big enough. So hopefully by the time DD outgrows her toddler bed, she'll be big enough for the top bunk and we can get bunk beds. Or move, so they can have their own rooms.

Or I could put them in my closet I just pulled all of DD's old clothes out last night and am wondering if I should wash them. I'm probably going to hold out until we get the furniture out. Just because they'll probably get wrinkly in the bags if I put them back in and I can't deal with wrinkles lol.

Team washed baby clothes here. Most were bought used at a consignment sale and I just washed them when I briught them home. I've done absolutely nothing else for baby prep though.

DD1 really wants to share with the baby, so our plan is to get a trundle bed once DD2 is old enough. We may even get it before she is born, if we find what we want, lol. That way, the little one will be really close to the floor and we don’t need to worry about either of the younger two trying to climb to a top bunk. DS’s new bed is a bunk bed, but we won’t put the ladder on until we are comfortable with the youngest being safe with it. We really debated having DD1 on a top bunk once she’s old enough (6+ is the recommended age), but worry about having it with the littler kids.

kaeguri, my DS is not verbal enough yet to understand if I explain to him transitioning beds also. He certainly doesn't have any idea what's about to upend his life entirely! Fortunately he hasn't figured out doorknobs yet so I'm hoping I can just shut him in his room and he won't wander out to find us. He almost never comes into our bed currently, so I'm hoping this won't be a problem.

tarheelmom, that's so cute she wants to share with the baby!! My DD is on the small side, so I think she should fit into her kid's bed til she's 6 or so. If not, I guess we'll figure it out then lol. She's part raccoon, including grabby hands and climbing skills, so I wonder if the new baby will be similar. They're behaving almost identical in utero, except this kid is so much more active than DD was, which terrifies me lol. frecklesnbrains, our kids are in for a shock when the end of summer comes hahahaha. I've tried explaining there's a baby in there, and she pats my belly and says baby sometimes, but I know she doesn't really get it yet. She has little interest in real life babies or dolls either (she's a truck kid). He might just stay in there! We have those stupid lever style door knobs, so DD figured them out early.

Our house was built in the 1920s and has old-school doorknobs that even I have difficulty opening sometimes! They’re a pain but great for toddler containment.
I bought my DS a doll recently. He took one look at then dumped it on the floor and hasn’t picked it up since. I also got a couple books about babies but he doesn’t want to read them. But anything related to trucks, construction, or barn animals he’s alllll over. Oh well, at least I can say I tried.

Has anyone done an elective 3D/4D ultrasound? I'm interested in doing one at one of the places near us since they have packages that seem well priced. There's one office in my practice that does them but since it's not covered by insurance this seems like a better deal.
I'm up to 85% sure we are going to be OAD so I want to do something cool like that.

With DD1 she was 32 weeks I think.

notmoose was this a transition from toddler bed to big boy bed? Congrats! Although we bedshare, we will eventually start the transition from toddler bed to full size bed hopefully before the next one comes. Crib to twin bed! He's been happy in his crib and I honestly would have left him longer, but I figured it would be better to move him before baby comes so he doesn't feel like baby kicked him out.

We built the new room, so it was like a 6 month process. When he finally slept in there I just gave him his 3 stuffed animals, tucked him in, did our usual routine and we made sure he knew he was supposed to stay in bed until we came to got him.

And his room is baby proofed with nothing in there he could get hurt with. So, that would be another suggestion.

I want to do something similar with this one, but my OB does 3D pics too, and they usually give me copies when I go for my u/s.

That's the biggest thing holding me back. And, some 3d ultrasounds are creepy... I'm afraid it'll cause me anxiety or something.
