I'm feeling major mom guilt, and can't remember if we talked about this before, but just curious how many people have had their LO's eyes checked. The recommendation in my area is at 6 months. I know this, but still haven't taken M to be tested. I feel like he might have a slight lazy eye, and need to schedule an appointment for him.

No. They didn’t test dd’s (basic vision test of saying what shapes/picture you see on a chart) until her 3 (maybe 4??) year well visit.

They've done it at least twice at the ped during well visits, maybe 3 times. I didn't have to seek out anything extra so I can't claim MOTY or anything!

They do it in a dark room, with electrodes on his head and a freaky flashing sequence on a screen.

No testing for us here. But just to make you feel a bit better, DS was tested because the pediatrician recommended it. They do check for that on well-checks and if they see something concerning they mention it! So try not to feel too much guilt!
DS had a lazy eye and they said that most kids do outgrow it without intervention.

We tested both kids eyes around 2, just a basic pupil response, monocular/binocular tracking and eye exam not vision per se.

it's offered but we decline. DD did have her completed at her 4yo wellness visit.

Yes, but it is because of the CMV exposure at birth. He has repeat exams just to ensure no issues. I also have really shitty eye sight, so I'm all for testing his. Next check up is actually at the end of this month. Before they basically just looked at his eyes with a few different instruments, curious if it will be more this time.

Late to the game.
Isaac has had the tests at tgexwell visits which they started doing at 3.
Ethan has had his checked because he has that genetic disorder that I have. When he did his check this last time they put a bunch of pictures up and asked him what he saw. First they showed him the pictures close up and had him name them. Then they put them n the wall in various sizes. They were things like a car, a duck, a birthday cake.
