I’m flying next week and taking my progesterone, in an insulted bag with a cold pack. The last several times I’ve flown, I’ve been “randomly chosen” for extra screening with TSA and it has been less than pleasant, so to speak, so I’m a bit nervous.
Has anyone traveled with cold packs/meds before? Any tips? Was it it an easy process?

I've flown with cold injections before and it was never a problem. They would just swipe the bag with the wand and then put the white thing in the machine. I think it's detecting explosive material but I'm not really sure. However RTF formula caused a shit show so I think it largly depends on the TSA agent you get.

I assumed it probably wouldn’t be an issue, but wanted to make sure. And we’ve had problems with formula before as well.

I've traveled with breastmilk on ice and DD's medication (not iced). Be prepared for extra screening time. Keep it in a bag that can be easily pulled out from your other stuff and just be prepared for them to examine it. I think they swabbed her container but didn't open it. It's really NBD.

If you can, keep it in the prescription packaging. I flew with IVF meds and was fine.

I've traveled with breastmilk and injectable medication that needed ice (I've used ice packs and also zipper cooler bags). I just tell the screeners before the bag goes through, and yes, keep it handy to take out. I've usually had my hands swabbed, but it was really no big deal and really didn't add extra time. When I traveled with the injectable meds that needed to be kept cold, my biggest challenge was keeping them cold long enough- it was a 10 hour non stop flight, with travel time before and after.

I flew with Progesterone in oil (and it's huge ass needles) as well as progesterone suppositories my last pregnancy and had no issues. I just put it in my carry on and sent it through. I had a tougher time with formula after my daughter was born.
