I've been trying to get the baby to sleep for the past hour and a half. Nothing is working. She's not too fussy but will not sleep. The last time she napped was over 5 hours ago. I just want to sleep. 😴 Weve been having issues with this too and it’s the worst. A right swaddle, loud white noise, and a little bit of nursing or laying on my chest has seemed to work - especially if I let her lay down and stretch/fuss for a few minutes first

Someone hit a pole down the road from us and power has been out for3 ish hours. The girls are not liking it. DD1 just woke up and realized it’s dark. Then we had to move DD2 and I upstairs because it’s getting cold. I give it 30 min before DD2 wakes the whole house up. Yikes. Hopefully that got fixed quickly and you guys are all warm now. Luckily the upstairs stayed pretty warm. Took a few hours to get the power back but we have it now.

4am feeding is lasting two hours today, including an almost poop-splosian diaper change which resulted in a wide awake baby needing to be nursed again and spit up on me and my tank top, requiring a change for me.

DS just projectile vomited what looks like everything he’s nursed the past few hours. Poor guy. Now he’s acting ravenous but I’m nervous he’ll get sick again.
Also who knows what this means for the night sleep-wise 😩

Holee shit. B just slept 5 hours. I slept for 3. I know this means the rest of night is likely fucked but it’s 140am and I feel like I’m ready to get up for the day.

Kid was like velcro every 1.5 hours yesterday. I've gotten a couple of hours out of him tonight. I was hoping for a quick 4am feeding but just heard him pooping.

My first day back at the gym is tomorrow (today) at 7 am. I have been so so excited about it all week. And of course this has to be the night that my normally good sleeper is a mess. I'm so bummed. She's been up since before 2. She ate a lot (both formula and nursing), pooped, etc but just won't settle. The birds are already going outside. Ugh. This stinks.

I'm less than thrilled with my H and my baby.
H takes the first MOTN feeding because he's still awake. The past 3 nights he's given me back a fussy baby that wakes me up for an hour or so anyway.
Tonight she's still being fussy after the second feeding. I'm basically up for the day at this point.
Ugh.

I wish my 2 girls would sleep better. Last night and tonight have been brutal. With the newborn up every hour, the 2 year old is now up for the 3rd time tonight (and she's been awake for over an hour) and my 3 year old climbing into my bed at 2 a.m., I've gotten hardly any sleep. It's 4:20 a.m. and I'm sitting here bawling. I'm so tired.
Did I mention we have family coming in about 8 hours to stay the rest of the weekend and I have half of my house to clean still and have to somehow get myself and my kids ready, loaded up, and to the store grocery store today before they get here. DH is of course gone. I hate his job and how often I'm alone doing it all.
ETA: I feel like all I do is come here and complain. I'm sorry. Just a bit overwhelmed and so exhausted right now.

Don't worry about cleaning the house. Your sanity and sleep is more important than that. When your family gets there can you leave your two oldest girls with them so you can run to the store? Family will understand.

But stardust84 our right your sanity is more important. Thinking of you and hoping you have a good day.

Are we back to the brand new newborn days where L can’t stay awake long enough to eat? I’ve been having to wake him for his MOTN feedings and he is impossible to keep awake long enough to get a good feeding in. Clothes off, diaper change, the works. I feel like we went from this issue, to up all night, to a good balance, now back to this. Kid is keeping me on my toes.

I thought once baby is over birth weight and gaining, that we didn't have to wake MOTN? Speaking from one whose little guy always wakes himself so far every 2-2.5 hours. Yawn.

Yawn. clementine if there’s no issues with weight gain and your pedi *hasn’t said otherwise, you can definitely let him sleep. The only reason I’d really fight for a good feed MOTN is if he’s waking up within the next hour to finish eating.

Leaf 🌱 gldnbearz I’m really not sure how long he’d go before waking up to eat. The LC I spoke with recently said we shouldn’t let him go for longer than 5-6 hours between feedings in the night, and if we do that we’d need to adjust his daytime feedings closer together so we can still get 8 in 24 hours. This was until he’s 3 months I think, and we’re 3 weeks from there. Weight gain is good so I think I’ll call again and see what she recommends at this point. I’m just so paranoid about him not eating enough, especially since he’s nursing for so few minutes each time during the day.

If he’s gaining weight, transferring milk well, and seems content - let it ride and release it to the lord a bit. You’re doing GREAT and can let yourself relax. I don’t wake a sleeping baby to eat assuming everything else is going well - they adjust their daytime feeds as needed and don’t really need a schedule.

So gets these episodes where he does this high pitched screaming in his sleep. Not only is it loud and terrifying, sometimes it’s hard to snap him out of it. He just had one and it always unnerves me.
