For the purposes of this check-in, we will define extended breastfeeding as breastfeeding beyond 1 year. Questions are repeated and suggestions are appreciated! 1. How old is your LO? 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3. What's the strangest place you've BF your LO? 4. What is your favorite online breastfeeding resource? Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? 1. 18 mo/16 adjusted. 2. Many, although we have been working on night weaning. So far we have two nights 9pm-4am with no boob. 3. Hiking at 10K feet. Otherwise, pretty much anywhere I've ever been since he was alive.
4. kellymom and milkmeg.com
I have no idea about woodworking. Maybe a bedframe since our bed is still just on a box spring on the floor. We have bedshared with both kids, so it hasn't been a priority to raise the bed.

I'm late to this, I didn't see the thread posted yet when I checked last Thurs. and then the weekend got away from me. Anyway, hi!
1. How old is your LO? 18.5 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3ish (first thing in the morning & right before bed, and then either when we got home on daycare days or before his nap on days I'm off). That's holding steady, but the time per session is way down - a few minutes tops most times. 3. What's the strangest place you've BF your LO? I haven't NIP much at all, but I did nurse in the basement of my elementary school when we were there for pre-Baptism classes for our LO. 4. What is your favorite online breastfeeding resource? You ladies!
Non-BFing question of the week: If you suddenly became a master at woodworking, what would you make? One of those safe toddler stool things for the kitchen.

I just now found my way here... 1. How old is your LO? 2 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? Most days its 4 times: morning, after daycare, bedtime, and one motn. On the weekends she asks constantly. 3. What's the strangest place you've BF your LO? No where strange that I can think of... I nursed her this morning while she sat on the bathroom counter while I brushed my teeth but that's become sort of a weekly occurrence. 4. What is your favorite online breastfeeding resource? Kellymom
Non-BFing question: patio furniture

Hi! I haven't been active on the BF before, so I hope you don't mind me joining the check-in and asking a question!
1. How old is your LO? 22 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? usually 2 3. What's the strangest place you've BF your LO? In the bar at a resort in Cuba. I wanted to hang out with my family and she wanted to sleep on the boob so that was our compromise lol 4. What is your favorite online breastfeeding resource? this board/my BMB
Non-BF question: it's more construction than woodwoorking, but I have always dreamed of building a beautiful deck in the backyard
My BF Related Question:
I am going on vacation next week and will be away from my LO for 7 days. I don't want to pump or anything while I'm away, other than a bit to relive discomfort. I don't mind if we wean during this time, and would be very happy if she just no longer wanted to nurse when I got back, but I have a feeling that she will probably want the boob the second she sees me. So what I am wondering is - if I don't nurse/pump for a week will I have any supply left? If E asks to nurse when I return, should I offer it to her? Will she lose interest if I offer but am dried up?
I would love to know your experiences of leaving your older LO's for extended periods of time while nursing.

zyna at that age I honestly wouldn't do anything other than pump for relie did you want to. If you come back and she still wants to nurse then ok, if not well that's ok too. I would enjoy your vacation and not even think about it too much.

zyna when I dried up, my first LO lost interest pretty quickly and it was a pretty easy weaning experience. I would just roll with it if she still wants to nurse when you get back.

lolacachia maplebaconbar thanks I figured I was probably overthinking this. I'm just going to try not to miss her too much, enjoy myself, and see what happens when we get back.

zyna, even if you want to wean, i would bring your pump. you will probably be uncomfortable without it and risk blocked ducts/mastitis. if you are trying to work towards weaning, i would just pump enough to remain comfortable. if you don't want to wean, i'd pump once per day. if your LO is really into nursing, i wouldn't count on her losing interest while you are away. but of course you can set more limits to gently nudge her towards weaning- either dropping back to once per day, limiting the length of one or both of your nursing sessions, or a combination of both. even with toddlers, IMO it's best/easiest to wean gradually for both mom and LO. GL!
