I can't wait for the weekend. It's going to be the first one in a while we don't have any commitments and the weather is supposed to be awesome. I'm hoping to set up the water table and let K go to town while i day drink on the patio. I'm doing water table fun all wrong.

We've had a pretty rough go of it the past few days. R has been coughing every night for probably two months, and though I brought it up with his pediatrician a couple of times, she didn't seem to be taking it very seriously, so I decided to seek a second opinion to make sure it wasn't something serious. As it turns out, after a chest x-ray, he's been diagnosed with something called reactive airway disease, which is basically pediatric asthma. He has to use a nebulizer twice a day now and I've been instructed to make an appointment with an allergist to determine if he has an allergic trigger. I'm glad that the second doctor took my concerns more seriously and that he has been diagnosed and therefore can be treated, but I have lots of feels about the fact that he has a chronic condition, and that inherited the asthma from me. :/ So yeah, it's been a long week. I'm sorry, that's rough. And glad you decided to get a 2nd opinion but wow, wish your pedi could have tried a little harder.

We have family parties scheduled each Saturday thru mid July. So far. I keep thinking I'll say no to one or the other. But then think, well if I throw my kids a party wouldn't I want them to show up to mine? I guilt trip myself. And this is just my side of the family. Happy that DH has a much smaller family.

Are there other kids there? Can you use "the village" to help parent? Drinks? But woof to 2+ hour drive each way. No other kids remotely close to his age, mostly tweens. Luckily DHs dad will be there to kind of help as well, but it always ends up me chasing him. No drinking for me. I agree that sucks.

It's hard, because I like the fact that she didn't overreact and jump straight to some sort of intervention right away; to be fair it probably was due to a cold at first – I just wish that she had taken the follow ups a little more seriously. But c'est la vie I suppose.

I had a half day at work due to appointment this afternoon. I actually got a lot done this morning.... amazing how that works when you don't get interrupted constantly. I think I got more done in this half day than the rest of the week.

But c'est la vie I suppose. Will it be awkward to do the follow up with your pedi? Yeah -- I'm trying to decide if I stick with the original pedi or switch to the second opinion one. I have issues with the latter for the opposite reason -- I mentioned R's not having hardly any words when we met and her response was OMG YOU NEED TO HAVE HIM EVALUATED RIGHT AWAY. So, she seems to be a bit of an alarmist. Not sure which extreme I prefer. Can't I mesh them together to get the ideal doctor?!

Hello everyone! I'm going to try posting more. 6 posts and still a noob over here. It's not like me!
I think we're planning on getting rid of DD's soother once and for all. She'll be 3 in August.
Sunday night we lost it so she had to go to bed without it. She slept all night with no issues. I ended up finding it on Monday and made the mistake of giving it to her. She woke up at 3am and completely freaked out because it fell out of her mouth and she couldn't find it. Same thing on Tuesday night, except at 1am.
So last night we "lost" it. She did fine but woke up at 5:30. Not really looking for it but didn't want to go back to bed. H caved and gave it to her. Not like it helped, she was up for the day at that point.

Thursday is over for us, but it was an exciting day. We signed a lease for a new place to live - wohoo! We move into the new place in mid-July, and fingers crossed we will be done with this bug infestation chapter for the rest of our lives. There are a lot of families in the building, so I am sure DS will be making lots of new friends. Can't wait to get settled and moved-in! Congratulations on getting a new place! Is it far from your current place? It's basically across the street from where we used to live, so same neighborhood and all that. We picked the first place for it's convenient location, so I'm glad we'll be staying in the same neighborhood!

Taitai you're in Bangkok, right? I love and miss it so much! Yep! We love it here. Once I'm off bedrest and the baby is old enough, we're hoping to do a trip to Hoi An/Danang. I will definitely be hitting you up for tips! I loooooove Vietnamese food.

littleliverpill So sorry to hear about R's diagnosis. It's really good you got a second opinion and figured out what was going on. I hope the nebulizer helps, but I understand how you'd be upset. 🙁

swim Good luck! I think the fact that she sleeps okay without it is a good sign in your favor.

Here's to life allowing me to catch up on them over the next few months.
