I'm doing better with breakfasts...more oatmeal, less bagels. I did eat a ton o' jelly beans yesterday. I'm going to throw the rest of the bag in the trash today. I just can't handle having them around.
We're having some yummy healthy meals this week! Meal plan: M-pasta with eggplant, plus simple green salad T-chick pea curry with brown rice, Naan W-veggie/turkey sausage sheet pan meal and quinoa Th-Thai curry butternut squash soup and bread (need to add a protein...I might roast some chick peas to add to soup!) F-leftovers
Obviously, we love chick peas. Well, DS and I definitely do and DH hasn't complained yet.
Question...I'm very sensitive to onions since giving birth (aka-it makes me super gassy). I've been trying to use shallots, which allegedly are more gentle in the GI tract. Anyone else deal with this or have any tips?

Exercise-wise, all is good. (usually my strength anyway! I love working out) I've been building my mileage back up conservatively, so I'm up to running 3 miles at a time now, about 3 times a week I guess. It's way harder when I'm pushing the toddler in the BOB, but a good workout! My double stroller will be my best friend this summer when I'm home all the time with both kids. I think I'm up to day 7 of True with Adriene for yoga. Not doing that daily, but more like 3 times a week also. I've also been doing some nice long walks with a mom friend that is also on maternity leave right now with her twins.

I just emotionally ate three Girl Scout cookies. So that about sums up where I’m at.
I did a lot of emotional eating this past week and I’m letting lack of movement on the scale dictate my mood. That and I’m sick of choosing between cold and dark outdoor runs or boring treadmill runs. I need some warmer weather bad. I think it will help improve my outlook on everything.

I'm going to join in finally here. This week marks my first stroller bootcamp class on Thursday morning. I never did anything like this with DS, but I'm excited to try it with DD.
I've been eating lots of candy this weekend, and I don't see that changing much in the short term, but I'm trying to have healthier snacks. I know what I should be eating, but honestly with a 17 week old that is adjusted to 7 weeks I'm just trying to make sure I eat in between her fussing and eating, and if that means a quick granola bar so be it.

Prior to getting pregnant with J, I was going to the gym 3-5 times a week. At 6 weeks pregnant, constant nausea hit and I didn’t renew my membership.
Once I go back to work and we figure out a routine, I plan to join a gym again. That was my “me” time and I felt good!
Now I feel like a blob and still eating semi-crappy.

Easter was definitely a disaster in terms of eating healthy. But I’m tracking WW points consistently now, so that should help me start holding myself more accountable. My biggest challenge right now is cooking healthy food. I’m alone with the kids most evenings and I’m not a particularly talented cook, so I find myself struggling to find good options in the pantry. I’m getting my first delivery of Blue Apron since I got pregnant. It’s not particularly low fat food, but it’s at least “real” food that requires more than just microwaving. Hopefully that gets me back in the habit of cooking meals.

I still have yet to figure out a good workout schedule but have been eating decently. We just signed up for a local csa and got our first box last week. I'm pretty excited because we love going to the farmers market here but DD1 has gymnastics on saturday mornings so we haven't been for a while.
I think I'm just going to have to skip the gym and start walking outside and take the girls with me. That way I can catch up on what DD1 did at school and not feel like I'm neglecting her in the two hours I see her between getting home from work and bedtime. The gym I go to has a bunch of yoga classes but I need to get in a little better shape before I even attempt that.

easternshoregirl , how do you make the veggie/turkey sausage sheet pan meal and quinoa? It's one of these. I just make plain quinoa on the side. I'm just doing bell pepper and zucchini for the veggies.

I would like to join in here. The last time I checked my weight I had lost all of my baby weight from DD plus a few pounds. The gd really helped with keeping my weight down. But when when I got pregnant I was up at least 20 pounds from what I was before i got pregnant with DS. So I would like to lose some more weight and start eating healthier.
We’ve been doing hellofresh three meals a week and then we usually have whole grain pasta two nights a week. Then order out or go out to eat for the other two. Not really looking to change meals, but need to start eating healthier for snacks. I have my diabetes six week postpartum test next week so hopefully that’s fine. I’ve never really been one to do a lot of exercise and have always been pretty lucky weight wise. We have a treadmill now, so I should be either walking on that or walking outside. It’s hard to find time and get motivated. Don’t know how you ladies do it!

tiffbabey How are the Hello Fresh meals in terms of healthy eating? We do Blue Apron and I like the meals, but the calorie counts are high and I end up using half my WW points on their dinner (more than half when I don’t have extra points for breastfeeding).

Last month some local friends started up a healthy living Facebook page to use as accountability or meal sharing or whatever your goal is to be there. So the one admin of the page makes a monthly workout calendar. I followed along for the first couple weeks, and had to take a break when illness took me and my kids out for a couple weeks, but I got started up on April’s workout schedule now. So that feels good! We did this on a smaller scale just through Facebook chat last winter and it was just nice to have the daily check in with friends for accountability and support.

I’m not sure what the points would be for WW. Some of the meals are definitely high in calories, but have a good mix of veggies and meat. When I was watching carbs for my GD, most of them would be good to keep my number low.

Doing well so far this week after not doing well last weekend. I'm on the "no wine until the weekend" train again. Taught barre and then took the class after yesterday, and then took the kiddos on a walk today. Tomorrow and Thursday will be barre again. I'm at 15 lbs to go to my goal weight.

It's 9am and almost 60 degrees outside already! We'll go out for a short run once V wakes from nap #1. We are all suffering from a little cold but I have high hopes it passes quickly. DS was the first to get it and I think he is already better so it was pretty short lived. I'm also excited about our sausage veggie bake for tonight. I just did the prep for it so I can throw it in the oven after I pick up DS from daycare. The sausage definitely is NOT all that healthy but there are way more veggies than meat so I feel good about the ratio. I think my mom is picking up lunch for me today, if we do Panera I can pick a salad or something pretty healthy. Their site is good for keeping an eye on calorie counts and I found a resource online also for knowing which items are dairy free so that is helpful.

Also I lost 2 lbs last week! I've been mostly just losing 1 lb a week (which is fine, just slow!) so I was excited to see it was down 2 lbs this time. I cut back dramatically on candy last week, so I'm sure that is why.

If my house could get healthy I’d be starting a workout routjne. I’m frustrated because I’m gravitating towards junk food too.

I don't know what it is about breastfeeding but I cannot consume enough sugar. That is all that I crave. Anybody else experience this? Send some willpower my way...I will be in the corner eating brownies.

stephne I crave sugar all the time as it is, but nursing makes it worse. There is some science to it since you’re spilling a fair amount of sugar into your milk. Bananas and fruit in general help, but I’ll Bring my own pan of brownies and join you. 😜
