alwayscheese they had to run things through insurance first to see what was covered and order the actual device. I don't think they keep them on hand. It took less than a week to get it approved and scheduled but I am not having it placed til next Monday.

We're finally doing newborn pictures today and my newborn is being the most non-sleepy baby so it's taking forever. It wouldn't be so bad but Em is devolving and my H wants to get back to work so I'm getting stressed.

dizzycooks you’re making me feel bad...pbs is currently parenting and that’s about all i have planned other than coloring, painting, and duplos cornpop yea the day we had photos was the day she decided to “wake up”...i thought the 2 yo would be the limiting factor but it took 45 min to get dd2 in a deep sleep. good luck!

I'm in l&d getting an nst and checking to see if I'm leaking amniotic fluid! I was having really watery discharge yesterday and overnight but it didn't feel like a definitive trickle and wasn't enough to wet a pad. I asked about it at my appointment this morning and the preliminary test suggests it is fluid, so here I am! Still 4cm dilated but no contractions.

My baby doesn't believe in napping during the day anymore. She has been up for 6.5 hours. I was nursing her when DH got home and then he took over so I could get some sleep. When I got out of bed again she was still wide awake. And he had already tried all of the things to get her back to sleep. Including feeding her which means I need to pump, bleh. Which is something I still haven't done because I took over for DH because he really needs to get to sleep. Its a never ending cycle.
I gave her a bath because she loves them... Did lotion. Now we are swaddled and rocking and her little eyes are closed. DH just came back to the nursery and started coughing, which she kept reacting to. I told him very nicely I would murder him if he disrupts her slumber 😙😚

yianna so sorry for your family’s loss. cornpop, this was us for newborn photos too. DS2 was so sleepy st the beginning we couldn’t keep him awake...except the day of the photos. Hope the pictures go well! So many potential babies today!! I love it - can’t wait for everyone’s updates.

I’m currently hiding in my bedroom feeding L despite the fact that he’s not really nursing. I already made DH take his parents and leave this morning because I’m so stressed with them here. They are being perfectly lovely and nice - I don’t know what my problem is. But being around people right now just seems really hard.
L actually had a great night last night so I’m feeling grateful for that. He slept for 5 hours, nursed, and went right back down for another 3. It’s the best night we’ve had since a while.

polson, don't feel bad. My neighbor took my girls now that it's naptime and I'm letting the big two skip nap in the name of quiet time for me. My toddler is sleeping and I slept with her for almost an hour. Now I'm listening to a podcast, eating jelly beans and running the dishwasher and washing machine so dh can empty them when he gets home. Leftovers are our dinner tonight. This snow does not appear so hard they couldn't have gotten the kids to and from school. Anyway, what are you all reading/listening to lately? I just started Say Goodbye to Survival Mode by Crystal Paine. It's not new to me, but it's good. I like it so far. It feels good to read/listen to something other than school work.

nuggetrn, I would kill dh if he did that. I hope baby got some sleep and you were able to relax or get something done that you needed. snowmoon, this is the first baby we haven't had a dog for and I still jump and anticipate the dog freaking out. I have a sign on my door about not knocking/ringing the bell and people still ring the bell. For us, the bell rings in the master bedroom and that is our girls' room so it's still important, but do not miss the howling dog to go with the bell. mintyblueair, I hope they get some answers and you're ready to go! 4cm without being in labor is crazy to me you lucky duck. Hang in there.

sunshinedaisies being around people is really hard right after having a baby. It’s exhausting to even have to have a conversation. And then all the hormones. Don’t feel bad about how you feel. snowmoon no admittance for that Aunt. Call ahead or be turned away.

Took my dd to the trampoline park this morning and now I’m reveling in an early nap time. I should be doing stuff around the house but instead I’m on the couch in the quiet. We’ll do chores later💁🏼♀️
I have Korean bbq beef in the crockpot and the house smells amazing, too.

The baby had her two weeek appt this morning. She was up another 5 ounces from Friday. Still only in the 10th percentile for weight but at least she's gaining. She grew an inch and a half since birth though so it looks like she might be a long skinny girl like her sister.

Baby girl is still BREECH.
NST BPP next week - seeing Webster chiro this week, inversions on deck too. If still head up on Tuesday - we will do ECV next Friday and if successful they will put a belly binder on me and start pitocin.
So that being said - we didn’t discuss if she has turned or resists the ECV... so I guess more next week.
Also I don’t know what to do if I go in to labor with a breech baby...

Well, it was a false alarm after all! Their test was negative for amniotic fluid. I'm so anxious for this baby to come out that I really got my hopes up lol. Sorry to sound the alarm when it's all amounting to nothing! dizzycooks, I'm also so surprised to be at 4cm for over a week and still nothing! Having sex is doing nothing, and I had a second membrane sweep today, still nothing... Baby must be resigned to making it until her due date 🤷

dizzycooks, I've been trying to read as much as possible lately. My favourite recent read was The Wonder by Emma donoghue. It's about an English nurse who is called to Ireland in the 1860s (I think) to investigate a little girl who claims not to have eaten any food for months. I couldn't put it down. I'm currently reading The Unconsoled by Ishiguro. I don't love it, but I'm sticking with it. If you like the absurd and a very dreamy feel, you might like it.

dizzycooks this isn't something I have read recently but it was so good and I will always recommend. The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton I just had to look it up because I couldn't remember the author and I think I must have lent the book to my mom. Amazon showed me a few other titles by the same author that now I think I need to check out.
