Parody front page winds up being frighteningly accurate. This is kind of creepy with how accurate it is

DHS is setting up fake universities in a honey pot scheme to lure foreigners to apply, send them THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, apply for visas, and then once they're here, deport them for visa fraud for trying to attend a school they thought was real and for trying to do immigration properly except DHS just ensnared them in an absurd scheme. AND OH YES, DHS KEEPS THEIR MONEY. HOOOOOOOOOW?!?!?!?!?!? I think we were fine before DHS. Can't we just, like, dissolve them? What the fuck is this fuckery?!?!?!?!!?!? Assholes. All of them. I wish I believed in hell because these motherfuckers would be sure to burn there when they die.

There is something really disturbing about seeing the IRL faces of people who believe that shit...between that and the ISIS article about them stealing all the worldly possessions of people of different sects/religions, I’m having a tough time with humanity today.

The amount of corruption surrounding Pruitt is actually kind of impressive. Just wow.

He is, but there is a very strong Dem candidate, and my good friend is running along side him as Lt. Gov. I am so excited to canvass and work to get Walker voted OUT. Do you mean the state superintendent? Soglin was the only name I recognized from the pack but I haven't lived in WI for almost 20 years. (My gosh, I'm old.) They say Paul Soglin is a candidate, but I will have a super hard time voting for him. Hes an old liberal - but old. Hes done a shitty job as mayor since hes "Back" and I do remember him from the 'day' but he is NOT what Wisconsin needs.

Just stopping by to say hey, I'm an Oklahoma teacher, and I've been protesting at the Capitol all week, so if you have any questions about what's going on, or what you can do to help, hit me up. I'd be happy to chat.
Also, thanks for the support. It's been a long, emotional ride these last few weeks, and the weather this last week was terrible at times for being outside (at least we missed the random snow this morning!). Activism is exhausting.

From an AP article I read: "Trump tweeted that the fire was “Very confined (well built building).” Asked if that assessment was accurate, Nigro said, “It’s a well built building. The upper floors, the residence floors, are not sprinklered.” Fire sprinklers were not required in New York City highrises when Trump Tower was completed in 1983. Subsequent updates to the building code required commercial skyscrapers to install the sprinklers retroactively, but owners of older residential highrises are not required to install sprinklers unless the building undergoes major renovations." link

Uncaripswife, <3 Also, don't skin-suit me, but I'm in a photo that has over 6K likes on FB about a teacher's van and Mary Fallin's (OK Governor) daughter So that's been fun lol. I'm also in the viral "walkout band" video. I'm everywhere.

Sadly not the only giant Confederate flag flying in the area. Saw one driving eastiyt of Richmond just two days ago. There is another when you exit the north side of the city too,on 95. Or at least there was last year. Didn't go that way this year, so not sure if it is still there.

Jaysus. DHS is compiling databases of journalists & "media influencers" to track public sentiment. Nothing about this screams fascist dictatorship at all. I literally gasped

It’s sad that a life was lost. I feel sorry for that man’s family. 45’s Twitter response was... something. Sexist, bragging and no acknowledgement of the person who died.

Residents are also reporting that they got no warning about the fire/need to leave. One woman found out about it from tv. Another resident is friends with Trump’s lawyer, who texted him telling him to get out. I understand that when it was built the building was up to code and was grandfathered in when they changed the code so it didn’t have to have sprinklers. I’m sad, but not shocked, that Trump chose not to add the sprinklers (apparently he said he “couldn’t afford them”). I’m horrified by the lack of warning to other residents though. This could have been so, so much worse.

Oh motherfucker. *poof* Reading the article, it was planned in response to the efforts to remove the statues, which means they have probably dotted every I and crossed every T and the damn thing can't be taken down. Assholes.

They also need another option in that poll. "I find it offensive, but recognize the right to fly it on private property and show that you're a hateful motherfucker."
Or something like that.

Uncaripswife, morale is all over the place, really. I think we are all still frustrated because while they are passing legislation to add some revenue, it's not earmarked in a way that is all that helpful to education. Plus, they will pass some, repeal others, and ultimately we're still in a hole! So Friday the chant in the capitol building was "See you Monday!" and I think we will. The "union" here thinks they are running the show, and some teachers are letting them. But they are the bandwagoners. Teachers started this grassroots movement on their own using social media, and the OEA came in and joined in. They act like it's a gift that they are providing porta-potties and shuttles. But honestly, what are the dues for other than being used for stuff like this? You can't show up to a party with the ice and then act like you are in charge You don't choose when this party ends. A couple of grocery store sackers, students, were talking about this and they wondered aloud if the teachers were bored lol. I told them that standing around all day is NOT exciting, but we were pretty darn mad, so I'm not sure how long this is going to go. We know the country is watching, and this is a tipping point for our state and country. I can't think of anything more important I could be doing right now. My senate district seat is open, since that guy was elected the city mayor recently, and I signed up for the lady Dem who's running. I haven't met her and I already love her. Arts/education/healthcare focused, around my age (young for politics), and she comes across as kind and willing to do what's needed for our state to grow. I might even sign up to knock doors for her. I'm feeling very politically motivated these days.

Also, thank you all for the kind, supportive words. I hesitate to use the word hero, as most of what I'm doing is sitting around a building all day. But it warms my heart to know that there are so many out there rooting for us.

We are fuzzylogic, we are. If I was closer, Id bring a pot of soup to your line. Is there a local pizza place that people can call in orders to? When we were all up at our state capital- many people called in for a local pizzeria to deliver to the line. Fight the power!

To give us all a small break from all the heavy news of the week, Deray has wandered into the great 2nd baby shower/Sprinkle etiquette debate on Twitter.
