We’re using condoms for now. My body does not like the pill or mini pill. I hated the mirena. I don’t want the Paraguuard because I don’t want heavier periods than I already have. The implant freaks me out. DNW injections or the implant. I’m open to the nuvaring, My OB also said that since I had the mirena before kids last time, my body might react totally different to it this time now after Kids. I didn’t realize there were others on the market with less hormone. I might ask her about the kyleena or skyla. If we have anymore kids, it wouldn’t be before 3 years but I definitely would be before 5 years. So I might ask about the skyla since that has the fewest amount of hormone in it. I just got the Kyleena put in today. I’m super crampy, plus I’m going on day 7 of my period. My GYN said if I wanted it out before 5 years, it was fine to do and there isn’t anything wrong with getting it out sooner. If MH agrees to a V, I’ll be getting it out.

I was also able to get pregnant right after it was taken out. I had it taken out March 24th last year and had a positive pregnancy test by the end of April.

Since no hormonal bcp has worked well for me other than generic ortho - which would kill my supply - I'm anxious about getting an IUD with hormones. Kwim?

Nexplanon implant for now. I don't think I want anymore kids but I am not ready to make it permanent yet. H is sure he is done. We (more like I) will re-evaluate in 3 years.

Went back and read more...why does the copper iud scare you sunfrogger? IUD insertion terrifies me. My labor with DD1 needed a Foley and the insertion was awful. With DD2 I also needed a Foley but I insisted on pain meds thru IV to manage.

Went back and read more...why does the copper iud scare you sunfrogger? IUD insertion terrifies me. My labor with DD1 needed a Foley and the insertion was awful. With DD2 I also needed a Foley but I insisted on pain meds thru IV to manage. I had a foley bulb inserted during labor with DD2 and it was by far way worse than actually pushing a baby out. I was terrified of the IUD insertion, but it literally took like 10-15 min from start to finish. I imagine all IUD insertions are the same, but my GYN told me to cough so I wouldn’t feel it as bad when he inserted it. I felt a pinch and a couple of cramps and they immediately went away. I did have cramps a bit last night and took some Motrin to help it, but today I feel great. I know your experience won’t necessarily be the same, but I thought I’d share my experience.
