I used to run more regularly but haven't run since the winter after getting pregnant, a year and a half ago. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money on a jogging stroller since I'm not a serious runner, but I scored a Chariot bike trailer with the jogging stroller kit so now I am excited to give it a try. It doesn't have a hand brake though - is that a big deal? I would probably start by running up and down our street, which has wide shoulders and relatively low traffic (and drivers are generally really good about runners/cyclists) and it's not super hilly. I think there might be a handbrake kit but I'm not sure it's compatible with the model I have - plus it costs almost as much as what I paid for the Chariot so I don't know if it's worth it/necessary.

Does it have a wriststrap? My BOB didn't have a handbreak and it was never an issue. I felt ok with the strap.

Our single BOB has a hand break and I don't think I've ever used it. We opted to forgo it when we bought the double to save a few bucks because it hasn't been necessary.

I have a graco lynx and it doesn't have a handbrake. We spent over a year doing at least weekly runs (3-8 miles) and our main route has a couple of pretty steep hills. I never found a lack of handbrake to be an issue. I use the hand strap attached to the basket for the steepest hill, but that's been it.
