Trump ended his infrastructure speech talking about Roseanne and ratings and taking credit of course.
Daniel Dale @ddale8
Trump Roseanne: "Over 18M people! And it was about US! They haven't figured it out! The fake news hasn't quite figured it out yet! They have not figured it out! So that was great. And they haven't figured it out. But they will. And when they do, they'll become much less fake."

McCabe raised over 100,000 in three hours for his defense fund. He's over 120,000 now
Edit: He's now almost at 240,000 in just a few more hours

Our defender of the common man doesn't know what a community college is, and how it differs from a vocational school.

It may be the 10 hour road trip with a three month old wearing on me, but this is what I thought of when I read the above tweet:

Apparently the WH is considering using the fact that an immigrant OR their family has used CHIP, Medicaid, subsidies for insurance on the exchange or a variety of other programs as reasons to deny immigrants permanent resident status or citizenship.

Commercials on my local radio have been really weird lately.
Scientology is launching a television channel. "The only thing more interesting than what you know, is what you don't." Barbara Comstock wants people to text to thank her for tax reform. And yesterday, PETA told me how smart pigs are and why you shouldn't eat ham on easter.

H discovered the Scientology channel yesterday. He's totally hooked and said it's great when you need something ridiculous to watch. I don't think that was what they were going for.

Pretty sure they última Just want more dollars, so they don't care if he watches because it's dumb or because he is interested in Scientology. Watching = monies.

I don't like the way they passed the bill at all, but, honestly, and no doubt UO, I think a lot of teachers/government employees really may want to figure out how to deal with fixed contribution retirement accounts and not being able to dump tons of days of unused vacation into a defined benefits plan moving forward. Moving new hires to a fixed contribution plan does not really make me want to take up arms. Most teachers do not pay into SS but rather into a pension fund, as far as I know. What, again IMO, is awful is when the pension plan is not appropriately funded. An actuarial analysis request is reasonable, I think - but, the results may not be what either side wants.

So cell phone that isn't a gun and having your back to the police means you deserve to be shot repeatedly if you're a black man.
That poor man and his poor family. There is a picture of him with his kids floating around that breaks my heart.

Can attest that most teachers do not pay into SS, are not eligible to collect SS when they hit retirement age unless they've paid in. Same goes for many federal employees, which is why state/federal pensions are important to keep well-funded. My parents are both recently retired teacher/federal employees. My mom worked a job when she was younger that paid into SS and I think she can collect a small, but definitely not livable amount, and my dad is starting a new FT job to build up his SS so he can collect SS eventually. Both have concerns about the limited COLAs and increasing health insurance costs for their pensions. My own pension plan (which recently froze defined benefits portion and added on a defined contribution pool) does not have a COLA. That's a pretty rare bird in many industries. My last Fidelity review posited I'd live to 96 (and I'm no spring chicken now) and the rep was talking about maybe we should push it up. The increasing life span is really playing hob with historic actuarial projections for pension plans. A lot of these traditional pension plans truly, with no malice inherent by the employers or designers, are not viable in the long run anymore. Also, too many plans (private or public) are not even close to be fully funded. And, yes, health insurance is a major issue for all, regardless of age, but for retirement planning is often underestimated. I was fortunate enough to be able to enroll in a group LTC plan many years ago at my employer, and will continue to have access after retirement. Even at the group rate, and starting young, I'm looking at over $300/month for decent, if not outstanding, coverage. And, that's incredibly better than if I started shopping at 65. And, honestly, can't even be too mad at the LTC underwriters - this was a heck of a product to try and underwrite, and pretty much everyone estimated wrongly.

I wish I had any confidence that the LEOs would be held responsible for his death. It is sickening. Between this and the Alton Sterling verdict, I just want to say fuck it to the world.
