help! i need a dress for a wedding i'm attending in 2 weeks. it's in nyc and it's still cold here (it will likely be in the 40s).
can anyone recommend a particular maternity dress that's still available that they bought and liked? or a regular dress that works as a maternity dress?
i just ordered several from target and they are all awful. i've been looking in tj maxx/marshall's, but it's a crapshoot that i'll find anything that will work as a pregnant person.
i'm trying to spend less than $50, and i'm short (5'2"), so anything that's maxi-length will not work for me. wedding has no real dress code, so it doesn't have to be super-fancy.

Have you looked at rent the runway? I think they have maternity dresses.

thanks, kaeguri, but i don't think RTR will work for me. it doesn't look like there's a way to try multiple things without actually renting all of them. the odds that i would pick something that i actually liked and fit me on the first try are like nil.

I am no help when it comes to anything fashion. My sister also passed down a crazy number of maternity dresses to me so just make those work for me. Most of them came from Motherhood and Loft years ago.
Like I said, I'm no help. Good news is you still have plenty of time to find something that'll work for you.

I have a weird body, and have had really good luck with reading reviews/help from their stylists. My biggest issue is that their stuff skews pretty dressy, so sometimes I have issues finding things for more casual occasions. I got a really cute dress in my maternity stitch fix box, too.

I have a wedding in June so I might be coming back to this question. Let us know what dress you end up picking.

I just ordered three from Pink Bush that I really like. All of them can be used as nursing dresses and don't really look maternity so I'm hoping I can wear them well past pregnancy. And all of them were under $50 but two were on clearance.

I think I only need a couple of dresses. One for a memorial service, so not super bright, and one for my shower. If I end up having two I'll just rewear since my mom would be the only person attending both. It's hard not to go nuts though because I have seen some super cute ones.

I second the pink blush recommendation. They have lots of choices and some are on the more formal side.

believe it or not, i found a dress at marshall's on sunday! it's ralph lauren and it is nice stretchy jersey material with ruching on one side so it has room for a bump. and it was $40! this is a crappy pic at a weird angle, but {deleted pic} here is a link to the actual dress... clearly i need to get my eyes checked because i really thought that the dress was shades of black and gray, even though it's described as navy. i have to take it out in the sunlight and look at it.

I'm not much for dresses most of the time, but by the end of my last pregnancy sometimes I just needed to let everything hang out (under a dress!) so I was really glad I had a couple casual cotton/jersey dresses.
