that's horrific, RFL. Your H will have his plate full transitioning the students to a "new normal" after this -- Im sorry. How heart wrenching for the students, to be so full of hope and promise and then to grapple with this. I have no good words, but my heart goes out to all of you.

I’m sorry @rocksforludo. What today taught me is that we have to all continue to amplify this issue. All of the stories just break your heart. It’s so fucked up that this keeps happening. Kids should get to enjoy their fucking childhoods. When did someone’s “right” become more important than a life?

Thanks all. I don’t know what else to say about it. It’s fucked up. And it’s not a new situation for most of these kids.

We had a great turnout at our local march. I've seen one report of "hundreds." It was so cool to watch the high schoolers give inspiring speeches. I really liked what one said, "it's not always the politicians not listening, it's also us not talking." There was so much emphasis on voting and calling elected officials and showing up to events and meetings.

Went to my local march which had about 7k in attendance. It was good to go with my 2yo, she was really great and it was a really positive day.

I don’t know if it’s the baby hormones but oh my god you guys I sobbed so much yesterday watching the march.
This...felt very different to me. Different from the women’s march and every other movement I’ve seen as of late. These kids get it. The march and movement are inclusive. Those who have been suffering from gun violence who weren’t extended the platform have been given it. And the media doesn’t get credit for that. The kids do. They just.....they get it. And they can vote soon.

Did anyone see Paul McCartney at the march in New York? CNN ran into him in the crowd. They asked him why he was marching. He pointed towards the Dakota and said “one of my best friends was killed from gun violence not too far from here. So it’s important to me.”

So it’s important to me.” Many of the parkland students on stage yesterday pointed out their privilege and they recognize it and will use that to lift up other voices. I think it was David Hogg who spoke about it the most.

And I just googled to mark sure it was David Hogg and some fox news/NRA stories about him came up. Tucker Carlson is calling him an extremist.

I have the rage...but on the other hand I think it means they have struck one hell of a nerve and the NRA is scared.

@brienne I agree that the NRA is probably nervous. A lot of the video montages yesterday in between speakers and singers were of the NRA and their bullshit. A lot of signs yesterday focused on the NRA. They are right to be scared.
I saw one counter protester. His sign said something like "NRA member since 1963 and have never broken the law". Way to miss the point dumbass.
