calendula I think EFF is easier from the start - weaning off pump or breast can cause some pain... if you don’t nurse at all - then you won’t be as engorged AND if you do you can take sudafed to help. And no flames - happy mom = happy baby.

Can you tell me a little more about eff from the start? What to expect in the hospital, what the first feeds look like, what to bring and how to prepare, that sort of thing? At my hospital they give you the nursettes of formula so after I delivered Thursday they brought in 2 bottles and i fed her while doing ski in to skin. After we got to the Pp room they gave us another 30 nursettes to cover more than our stay. It's really NBD and I was at a baby friendly pro BF hospital. They have you track ml eaten and poos/pees. That's good to know. I wasn't sure how to really go about this either since my experience will hopefully be a little different this time.

calendula be prepared for your milk to at least start to come in. I wasn't able to avoid it either time. Tight bras, cabbage and Sudafed help.

leatherpants now you have my mind going... I just nursed DD for 20 minutes but feel like I could get a good pump in and then hoping DH can put her down for her 5 hour stretch. Now might actually be a perfect timeeeee. Lol

calendula, I didn't breastfeed my son and won't be breastfeeding this baby, and my experience at the hospital was exactly like cornpop's. I think my breasts were quite tender and swollen for about 4-5 days but I didn't get any leaking.

I think he has other ideas and I had to remind him I still have a week til I am cleared to go. Lol.

I LOVE THIS! Did you see that Tessa and Scott were on Ellen last week? And they played the “Definetly Not Dating Game”. I did see it! I’ve definitely seen them answer some of those same questions before...so I wasn’t as impressed as I could have been. Lol Still love them though.

calendula - I didn’t plan to EFF DS from the start but it basically ended up that way when he wouldn’t latch. We had the same situation though where the hospital provided the small bottles - enough for our stay and to get us started at home. This time I went in expecting that could happen again and brought some with me just in case (I was sent free samples).

Well, I can't fall asleep because I think I'm having contractions. I won't get my hopes up but I would love for this to turn into something. Preferably after I get a little sleep though?

I did semi chug the wine and it was lovely but definitely can tell I have not had a drink in a while because it just made me so much sleepier. Which was probably not a bad thing. Especially because baby was not nice to me this last wake up.

They fizzled out a bit, since I did get some (restless) sleep. Hopefully they come back and things pick up today. I really, really want this baby out.

I’m literally counting down the hours until nap time. DD is being wonderful but I didn’t sleep well and completely over did it yesterday. I really need to empty the fridge and go grocery shopping but I think I’ll just get a grocery pick up order and wait until DH is Home tonight for the clean out.
Is anyone overdue? Was anyone overdue for very long? I feel like this is tricking me into thinking I’m due wayyy sooner than I actually am LOL.

Baby was on the boob all night last night. And it hurt. Midwife confirmed today that she has a tongue tie so we'll be getting that clipped this week.

DH put together the crib and noticed a big crack in the headboard. I called the company and they are going to send a replacement one and we have to send it back. Now he's a little annoyed at me because he got it completely put together before I got on the phone with the company. He did also take the ceiling fan down, put the new one we got up, and move all the furniture back into the nursery. I hope it doesn't take too long to get the new headboard in...I was planning on using it when my sister comes to visit with my 6 month old niece.

I’m pretty sure L has a tongue tie and a lip tie (the latter for sure). I’m kind of annoyed the no one at the hospital, including the LC we saw, nor my pediatrician noticed and/or mentioned it. It’s definitely causing him to improperly latch and it hurts a lot. Who did they tell you to go to to have it clipped? Not sure if it’s worth going back to my pediatrician or just making an appointment elsewhere.

sunshinedaisies the hospital and LC missed DS1’s tongue tie, they said “oh maybe but he seems to be nursing ok...” but no actually he was not. If he had have been under 6 months when I got it confirmed, the doctor would have just snipped it in her office but as he was 8 months, I had to get a paediatric surgeon to snip it (with surgical scissors) in his office. It was quick, easy and he only cried for a second. Nursed him straight away and we never looked back. ETA: it’s not common practice to see a paediatrician here unless there are issues, so I found a GP that specialised in tongue ties (friend reccomended)

They do it through the hospital here but I'm not sure how it works elsewhere.

nevertoomanyshoes snowmoon, thanks! Seems to be based on location on who to contact. I will probably reach out to my pediatrician this week and ask. I’m frustrated because we JUST had an appointment with her a few days ago but we didn’t notice it until yesterday and now we aren’t scheduled to go back until 2 months. I did wonder earlier because his latch is so shallow but I just thought it was laziness and sleepiness. But the last few days I’ve been actively trying to make him latch better without much success.

I think if this LO has a lip or tongue tie I’ll look for a pediatric dentist who uses a laser.
