I stayed up way to late messing around on my phone. Then K was up at 2am for some reason that only makes sense to toddlers. I made a promise to myself to go to bed early tonight, but ill probably do the same thing again because I secretly hate myself. Please send coffee.

Sometimes I feel like I'm part of a secret government experiment to determine how little sleep a person can function on for extended periods of time.

I have so much invoicing to do today at work-didn't help last week's credit card tie out took forever so didn't get it all done last week so it carries over into this week....
And I'm only working a half day tomorrow due to an appointment we have in the afternoon.

I didn't get to bed until 11:30-12 and DS2 was up at 6:30. Ugh. I still have a crap ton to do before DS1's bday. My house is not company clean.

I managed to paint my nails last night. I should do a pedicure but I'm happy my hands are done!

DS was whining this morning this morning so it took me a lot longer to get him ready than usual. I can't wait until he can get himself completely ready in the mornings.

And I'm only working a half day tomorrow due to an appointment we have in the afternoon. I feel your pain. We have a random charge on our card so I have to call a billion fucking numbers to track this down. Oh and the company the charge is from doesn't have a phone number. Just how i wanted to spend my afternoon.

DS was whining this morning this morning so it took me a lot longer to get him ready than usual. I can't wait until he can get himself completely ready in the mornings. This is the bulk of my morning routine. Chasing the toddler down and bribing him all sorts of ways, before I tackle him and get him dressed. Not fun to do before I even get some coffee in me.

DH regretted keeping L home yesterday. He wanted a father and son day. Nice sentiment but it's a lot of work too. PLus he aggravated his foot and was worse off when I got home. I also got a picture of my son half naked, sprawled face down on the floor refusing to get his diaper on. LOL. I got a little pleasure on hearing how "rough" it was catering to a 2 yo. DH is gonna have to man up cause I plan on leaving both boys with him this Saturday evening and having a girls night out.

We're going to a concert in July. Our regular babysitter can't watch the boys, so now I have to decide between my other options:
*Mom - who lives 90 minutes away and will not spend the night away from home, so I feel bad making her be at our house until 10/11.
*Cousin 1 - 30 years old, lives 20 minutes away, but has no experience with trying to get my toddler to go to sleep.
*Cousin 2 + his girlfriend - 24 years old, lives 20 minutes away, were our full time babysitters before BH was born, have a proven track record of letting LBB stay up past his bedtime. Which I don't care too much about, but he's older. I feel like there could be a total and complete meltdown by BH if he's up too late and overtired.

Present. DS decided that 5:15 in the morning is a great time to start singing the finger song to himself. He fell back asleep by 6ish and woke up for the day around 7:30, but I never fell back asleep.
I just had to tell DS to stop licking the door. Time to add that to the list of things I never thought I'd have to say.

It's interesting that toddlers (mine included) will lick or put random things in their mouths, but won't eat proper food put in front of them because it's "gross."

Last time this happened his DC teacher said he kept falling asleep at lunch, face fwd into his pasta.

I would emphasis bedtime and hope for the best. You have a 50/50 shot that it will go the way you want. With cousin 2 you're almost guaranteed that they will stay up late. Can you do a trial run before then so they can at least observe your bedtime routine?

The child who woke me up at 6 FREAKING 30 decided it would be fun to spit his apple juice in Momma's coffee.

Went to bed around 10 but took awhile to fall asleep. E got up at 11:30 and struggled to go back to bed until 12:30. Up at 5:30.
When school is in session, I get up at the same time but am ready for bed earlier, so I'm getting more sleep at the front of the night. But my body hates itself and thinks "hey, it's summer! I can stay up a little bit later!" even though she's still waking up and is getting up EARLIER than I even get up for work.
I don't know if any of that makes sense. tl;dr I'm getting less sleep now than when school is in session.

sheilathetank, probably. I usually have both guys (and their girlfriends) over for dinner fairly frequently. I've been feeding them since they've been in college.

Oh hey, here too. Sleep training does not help with MOTN wakings, though I'm sure everyone knows that. I also decided to go to the gym before taking the kids to a birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese, which was a huge mistake to do without extra caffeine. I always get a burst of energy at 9pm and then take forever to go to sleep, so I'm sure we will be here again tomorrow 😢

I'm here too. V and I are both sick, so between a rough bedtime for him (which meant late bedtime for me), all of the MOTN wakeups for both of us and just crappy quality of sleep, I was pretty cranky today. My kids at school are just falling apart in anticipation of the end of the school year, so it feels like crying, whining and behaviors 24/7. I'm also having a fibro flareup, so I am just a complete and total mess.
On a more positive note, I decided to take a sick day tomorrow and stay home to rest and recuperate. I am really looking forward to having the house to myself and napping and watching TV whenever I want.
