Also, maybe I'm late to the party on this, but I was at Target yesterday and picked up a swimsuit for C from the Cat and Jack line. It's cute enough, but what really sold me are the snaps down below, which make diaper changes, etc. so. much. Easier. I have never seen this feature on a baby bathing suit before and had been wondering why it wasn't done. So sadly, there goes my million-dollar idea, but I am glad to know this product exists! The one with popsicles?? I died when I saw it and then loved the snaps too! Genius. I'm supposed to send her in a swimsuit twice a week for water play, so now need to find a few more suits. They had some cute ones! And yes, the snaps are brilliant. The one I got is navy/white stripes with red trim and a little skirt. I thought it would be perfect for the 4th of July. I bought it in 18 months-size (:sob:) I had two for each kid, but we've been swimming so much that I thought I needed to add a couple. Gymboree has some cute ones and they're all on sale, but alas, no snaps!

sing2phins I was thinking of you. I wanted to say while every age has it's own challenges, overall behavior wise it gets so much better. With my girls now five is light-years beyond 3. I no longer worry if I'm going to perpetually have an out-of-control kid who never listens. Cass is a turd and won't stay in time-out like she's supposed to. She has massive fits and hits and screams. I've locked her in her room when she's gone nuclear. Maddie often tries to help her calm down, but that was her 2 years ago. Madison put gouges in the walls many times during her temper tantrums that would sometimes last over an hour. Every parent loses their cool now and then. My kids have definitely brought out both the best and worst in me. Maggie will learn to deal with her emotions better as she gets older.

nam2013, yep, that resonates with me. Overall I've done pretty good with milestones, but kindergarten has done me in. I'm officially going mommy crazy and feel like I'm having a breakdown. So.many.emotions.

guster, I'm kind of jealous that you'll get to experience 24 all fresh and shiny. It's a great show. It's all on Amazon. I rewatched the first couple of seasons a few years and there were parts that were definitely cheesier than I remembered/dated, but overall so good. Keeps you on your toes until the last minute. Kiefer Sutherland either whispers or growls most of his lines and half of them are "dammit!" It's the best.

inthekitty , did you finish designated survivor? I have an episode and a half left and it's just so boring that I don't know if I can finish. I'm keeping it on in the background right now so in case anything interesting or exciting happens I can pay attention, but otherwise snooze fest. We watched. It was... Odd? Disappointing? Clear evidence they're expecting a 2nd season? It definitely left me less than satisfied, though I was finding myself less interested by the week instead of MORE.

So.many.emotions. I cry about the weirdest things... nursing dd for the final time as before she turned one. The smile on ds his face when my parents came home from vacation. Or seeing kids being extremely happy, nervous and exited when Sinterklaas (our santa) arrives in holland on his boat for example.

I was just thinking back to my nursing days and I hope she didn't notice me and think I was a creeper.
P.S. The stethoscope part of that video reminded me of one of my children's greatest moments the other day. They brought over the toy stethoscope and seemed really proud to show me their new game. Cassie got rolled up in fetal position on the ground and Maddie put the stethoscope to her butt as I tried really hard not to laugh/smirk as I told them that was inappropriate.

It ebbed and flowed for me...some weeks really held my attention and then others I couldn't remember anything meaningful from the episode. inthekitty I'm with you, 24 (the KS version) was the best. He was such a badass. Maybe I should go back and re-watch. We actually saw Keifer at a famous breakfast place in Carmel as the show was beginning to take off. He was literally 5' from us, wearing aviators, and we all ate French toast together. Highlight of my existence at that point. Still a top-5 contender a husband and 2 kids later

I've been working from home today because it's Olympics day at daycare for the kids taking gymnastics. Col's group is the last one to perform, they start at 4:30. I cannot wait to see what kind of insanity ensues, him and his friends are nuts.

KS regularly came to the pool hall he used to play in in L.A. back in the late 80s. He said he was a really nice guy.

tgrimes You're showing your age. You guys do realize raccoons in the wild carry dangerous diseases? They're like 1 or 2 steps above a mouse? The duplex we rented when we first moved in together had a raccoon in the attic. Hearing that thing run through there all the time freaked me the fuck out. No one wants to know the ending of this story.

jewels I can email you the link to the 'party' for you to browse through. Except she now wants me to FB message 20 of my friends and let them know I'll be inviting them and have them confirm before she creates the event. I have no idea when I will have time to do that.

The runner is back from taking boxes. He only took 10, so his wall is now 3x5. He says he'll do the rest tomorrow. He smells like sweaty ass now. Ugh.

Help me with this you guys, we have all discussed in length getting invited to FB events, direct sales, etc. This is her request to me:
"Remember the 'Rule of Half'- Say you send 200 messages: 100 will respond, 50 will say "Yes!", 25 will RSVP, 10-12 will participate, and maybe 6-8 will order. This is why it is so important to invite EVERYONE on your friends list with ties to children (Grandparents, aunts, babysitters etc), and don't leave anyone out! My best customer is someone I went to high school with and haven't talked to in a long time!"
I feel like I'd be less likely to respond to the message and participate in the event if I got her pre-worded message. I get invites to stuff all the time, if it interests me, I say I will 'attend' if it doesn't I say no or ignore the notifications from it. Does she really expect me to send 200 messages? Cause no. I've participated in 2 of these book parties on FB and neither time did I get a message from the host.
I'm thinking about just telling her I've had positive feedback from the friends I discussed it with, but will not be sending messages to everyone I want to invite. If she wants to move forward with the party, great. If not, that's fine too. Or am I being bitchy?

mwhip, can you just say you sent some messages and not give her an exact number? Or does she want to be included in the invite list so she can see how many people you actually attempt to invite?

mwhip. Um no. I would not send messages. I mean, I get it's more personal but I don't think anyone cares if they get a message before an invite. I'm like you, I usually ignore invites unless it interests me but a personal message isn't going to change my mind

No, she doesn't need to be included in the private messages I send, which is why I'm thinking if I just tell her I'm getting good feedback so far, that would be enough for her. I want to know the person who physically sends 200 private messages. I wouldn't even be able to keep up with them!

My child is on fire with the shit he's saying today.
Me: "Why are you naked." V: "Because I want to fart on mommy."
And then he's flatulent.
