O. M. G. Is this a thing? From my local mom's group: "Any of my mommy friends make their own breast milk jewelry without ordering a kit? I am 3 months away from expecting my second and never used my saved milk from Olivia to do it 😂. I found a lot of mixtures and instructions online on boiling then grinding it into a powder but for a resin to make the jewelry I have no clue." Whaaaat!?!?

I have never heard of this. Just saw something very similar earlier in the week in the crunchy crazy moms group I'm in. I didn't understand it. I mean, who has this kind of time? I can think of approximately 17,000 things I would rather do. I just do not understand wanting to preserve what is essentially a bodily fluid to make jewelry. Bleh. eta: or for that matter, pay someone else to preserve it for me. Just give me precious jewels, k thanks.

guster wineallthetime - I like both of those ideas. I dunno if I’ll be able to find a nice throw tomorrow but I am going to try.

Oh, totally random, my friend had brain surgery to remove a large tumor this week (non cancerous thank goodness). She is home now and I am going to visit her tomorrow. She requested headbands (large scar and they had to shave a lot of her head) but what else can I bring? She said she’s not really up for reading yet so my go to (trashy magazines) won’t work. She’s staying at her parents while she recovers (she’s a single mom) so I don’t really want to bring food since they are taking care of all that Thoughts? Maybe just a nice plant or flowers. Maybe headwraps or scarves. Something sweet? Little candies or chocolates?

Blueberry, blackberry, strawberries and 2 other plants are now planted, 4 blisters, aching back and 10,000 steps later. Now I'm resting on the couch taking sips of mh's beer when he first opens a new one and watching spring baking championship.
Cadence rode her bike all the way around the block with minimal help pedaling. I'm just glad she got back on after her last fall.

I’m trying to stay away from sweets bc she’s worried about gaining weight while she’s not able to do much (she’s normally very active) I think I’m definitely going to get the blanket/throw along with the headbands & wraps already purchased. Thanks guys!!

DH called as the boys were finishing dinner. FIL had a massive heart attack, apparently there was a 95% blockage. He's out of surgery and they were going to visit him shortly.
It happened while they were at Costco. They were already there when he called me earlier. So this was quite the shock. I mean he's 70 (or 71?) but he's always working and keeping busy. DH sounded like he was in shock.

M had a blast at the carnival. They had a farm walk through where you had to plant vegetables and pick cotton, play in the corn, etc. then you had to turn in all of your stuff you accumulated into the correct baskets. You received 2 dollars in return. 1 went to purchase a treat aka granola bar/rice Kris OU treat and the other went in the bank.
Her favorite rides were the obstacle course fun houses. I made the mistake of going into the first one with her. I had to mission impossible it through ropes and shit. I learned my lesson and let her go by herself after that.

joelies did they do stents or a bypass? I don't know. DH and his Mom didn't even know they were operating? It sounds like everything happened really fast and no one really explained how serious it was until after the fact.

Good evening. I had to work for a roll out this morning, so we lounged around until that was done. We then went to look at a house and it had potential, but was freaking tiny/poor use of space. I think we ruled out that part of town, it's basically the Portland/Berkeley of the area and I think I'm just too much of a yuppy to really fit in. There was another agent looking with an older couple who had their adult kids on FaceTime in Botswana, since they were shopping from overseas. Had to chuckle, like wth?
And my MIL is here. Mh invited her over yesterday am over text and we didn't hear from her until 2 today saying she'd see us soon. Um, confirm if you got that text and/or are deciding to come next time please! It's good she's here since N has no idea who she is and she's watching the kids next month.

The birthday party was good and C was generally well behaved until it was time to leave and he threw a tantrum then hit me. It’s always fun trying to carry a 46# child to the car while he screams at you. Too much sugar and not enough nap. wineallthetime thanks for thinking of me. I’m not really thinking about surgery and am looking forward to a week off. Haha! My only real anxiety about it is that the Dr won’t give me pain meds or something since he’s been withholding them lately. I can’t imagine they wouldn’t give me pain meds but there’s also not much I can do about it at this point so I’m trying to avoid thinking about it.

I'm so bad at pumping. It's 8pm and I have pumped 4 times today. It's hard to get back into the swing of things again. When I was pumping for LO I ended up setting up meetings in my phone calendar to remind me to. If not I would forget until my boobs started to hurt.

jewels One more idea if you haven't gotten anything for your friend yet, some type of pj/lounge clothes that button up the front, vs. pulling on overhead. I'd imagine that would be easier to wear as long as she has bandages/stitches/etc on her head?
