Anyone up for discussing healthy eating, exercise, etc? ETA...here's some questions to get us started:
Short term goals*?
Long term goals*?
Healthy recipes to share?
Current favorite workouts?
BONUS: who is a healthy person you admire?
*Goals do NOT have to be about lbs lost

Short term goals*? For diet: More fruits/veggies, less processed sugar For exercise: get into a routine. My current plan is going to be an 8-day rotation day 1:yoga; day 2: run; day 3:yoga; day 4:rest; day 5:run; day 6:yoga; day 7:run; day 8: rest (repeat) Yoga is very short sessions right now and running is more of a jog/walk (usually with the BOB). I didn't exercise at all while pregnant and I ate like crap. Long term goals*? Back to pre-preg clothing size, regain muscle tone, run a 5K in April and a 10K in November Healthy recipes to share? I'll add some later as I make them! Current favorite workouts? this is the yoga workout I'm doing www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRRiwnlPKfDep2aglpPpvJXv3ZIT4nrE4 BONUS: who is a healthy person you admire? My sister does a good job with activity and a mostly healthy diet...with 3 kids!

I'll play.. My basic long term goal is to not hate myself in the summer. Ultimately I'd like to drop all my pg weight and then a couple more.. It's about 25lbs when it's all said and done.
Ultimately tho I do have my schoolwork to do in my free time so it'll be mostly making good food choices for now.

I am currently working on my weight. I want my clothes to fit better and to not feel like a blob. This was my last baby for sure so it’s my time to get my act together. In the last week or so I have been making healthy lunches for MH and my sil. I also leave the rest of it for myself. My short term goal: lose 17lbs which will put me at pp weight. My long term goal: lose 45lbs or be a size 8. I make grilled chicken and then eat black beans, peppers and some brown rice on the side. It’s my favorite. I haven’t started working out yet.

I have just let my eating get out of control. I need to choose healthier foods. For a while DD was struggling with constipation and flaxseed oil was helping. So I started making Belgian waffles in the morning to hide the flaxseed oil in. Then of course I ate them too. So I have to stop having homemade waffles every morning, lol. This morning I had grapefruit. I have also been hungry motn and eating a granola bar. (But like not a healthy one). I need to cut out motn eating. And replace the snacking with nuts or cheese sticks. Then there is the ice cream. That's got to stop. MH has been working out a lot lately and he looks great. We have a pool and host a lot of summer parties. So my goal is to look as good as MH this summer. Luckily he started off much heavier than me I would like to find an exercise class for Saturday mornings and I'm thinking about walking to DDs school for pickup when the weather gets better. That would be a 2.5-3 mile walk round trip 3x per week. I guess if that goes well once J is 6 mos we could try jogging some. ETA: I have 10 lbs to get back to PP weight. I am going to see my family and friends for the first time PP around Easter and it would be cool if I fit in my old clothes.

Ultimately tho I do have my schoolwork to do in my free time so it'll be mostly making good food choices for now. They say weight loss is 90% in the kitchen and 10% in the gym, so that should work. I believe it...some of my highest (post-college) weights were during high mileage marathon training!

Following for motivation. I need to start meal planning. We joined a new gym but things keep coming up as we I get settled back in at work and with new childcare. Ultimate goal is to get back to or under pre preg weight by June/July. I turn 39 in June and we decided we want to try for another baby so I’m starting femara again around then so would love to lose as much as possible before that time. I write this as I’m finishing up my valentines gobstoppers so obviously i need to get serious

Short term goals*? I set my goals in 5 pounds increments but another overall goal of mine is to step away from the scale. I am pound obsessed when logically and scientifically I know that it's not a great indicator of health and fat loss. Long term goals*? I want to get back into my pre baby clothes that I had to put into storage. I am already 15 pounds below this pregnancy's weight but the problem for me started before i got pregnant with my first. I curse my husband for getting me into some really bad habits when we first started dating lol Healthy recipes to share? I try to follow a paleo diet style 80/20 of the time. We don't follow recipes too much since meals are mostly just protein and veggies. Current favorite workouts? not a favourite, but right now im just doing 25 minutes at least of cardio and then free weight training afterwards. Anywhere from 4-10 exercises. Spin class is my favourite and i plan on starting it up again this week BONUS: who is a healthy person you admire? I follow SO MANY healthy weight lifting and weight loss accounts on social media: -Katy Hearn -CHristina Capron -molsinspire -fatgirlfedup -gracies journey -morganlosing -losinggravity Again my major goal is to just finally give up the notion that I have to weigh a certain number or wear specific size jeans to go back to being my old confident self. I would never think that about anyone else so need to stop thinking it about me *Goals do NOT have to be about lbs lost

This thread is already having a good influence on me...I got fish tacos at lunch (grilled fish, pico de gallo, salsa verde on corn tortillas) instead of a torta and fries! Just because I'm thinking more about my decisions.
I'll probably start weekly threads for health/fitness too now that I see some people are interested.

Short term goals*? Get to pre-preg weight or close to it by summer (20lb to go). Try to eat healthier by reducing my carb and sugar intake. Instead of reaching for a bag of cheezits, Get a piece of fruit or cut up some cucumbers, etc. AND drink more water.
Long term goals*? Tone up my body to something that resembles my pre-baby body!! If we have any more kids, it won’t be for another 3-4 years, so I’d like to tone up my body and gain some more strength. I’m sick if not being able to keep up with my toddler! That’s honestly the biggest motivator for me.
Healthy recipes to share? My new favorite are those no-bake energy bites someone posted the other day. I made them and both MH and I loved them!! Those will be a frequent snack in this house.
Current favorite workouts? Nothing yet. Haven’t gotten to working out yet. I just had my 6w checkup a couple days ago so my mind is starting to get there!
Anyone have a favorite nursing friendly sports bra they love?? The ones I have are super fitted and are a workout just getting in and out of them!! So there’s no way to nurse in it if need be.

Short term goals*? To get to pre-pregnancy weight (8 pounds to go). To workout daily between strength, running and walking. To not jump straight back to eating sugar
Long term goals*? To get to 24-26% body fat. Tone my muscles. Run a half marathon in the fall.
Healthy recipes to share? I made an egg bake yesterday that was so good. I put in Italian sausage, mushrooms, spinach, and a jar of sun dried tomatoes (chopped). Whisked 2tsp of Italian seasoning and a tsp of onion powder with 9 eggs. Put it all in a 9x13 and baked it for 25ish minutes. Yummmmmmmmm.
Current favorite workouts? I’m running three days a week and doing 21day fix workouts the other days. I have a beach body on demand account and enjoy the variety. I really like core de force too.

I gained about 42 pounds during pregnancy, but had really really extreme swelling. I lost 36 pounds in the first week after delivery which felt so crazy- and I think it played a big part in why I felt so terrible that week! My body was in shock almost I think and it didn't feel healthy to lose that way.
Now, I'm 4 weeks post partum and I haven't lost anymore. I think I have gained 2 or 3 pounds back because of how much I've been eating. I have been letting myself eat whatever I want and I really need to get back to healthier eating. I can't wait until I can start working out again as I really need to tone up and get some of my muscle back!
My short term goal is to clean up my eating and get back on a healthier approach to meals, and start some light exercise.
My long term goal is to lose about 12-15 pounds- the weight I have left from pregnancy, and the weight I gained during IVF. Also, I want to fit back into all of my jeans- I tried some on last week and they were definitely still too tight!

Today is Whole30 day 20, and I went for a 4 mile run this morning. Boom. My goal today? Not eat multiple handfuls of raisins. 🤦🏼♀️ I’ve been doing it when I’m craving sugar. Not helping me not crave sugar. And full of carbs and calories!
When I’m really missing my nightly bowl of ice cream I put a little frozen mango and bananas in the food processor and turn it on until it’s creamy (sometimes letting it sit for just a bit before you mix helps). And then I top with cashews and unsweetened shredded coconut.

I meant to start a weekly thread yesterday but I forgot! I'll do it next week instead. Yesterday was a day off exercise, and I did some yoga today. Tomorrow a short run! I pushed the 2.5 year old on Sunday in the Bob and that was quite the effort, I hadn't done that in months!
Doing well with food choices this week (so far)! I did get some ice cream/sorbets but I'm considering it a win that I bought 2 pints on Saturday and I didn't eat all of them yet. I did eat a ton of gummies/jelly beans at my mom's house on Sunday but that's par for the course. When I get serious about focusing in on weight loss, those things will get mostly cut out. I'm just 5w pp and the weight is still coming off with what I'm doing now so I will keep things like that until I need to get rid of them.

Short term goals*? I’d like to get back to pre-pregnancy weight by the summer. I have about 15 lbs to go. I’d also like to start introducing exercise. I haven’t done any real exercise in years, just a bit of aquafit here and there. So I need to start out slow. I’m about 3 weeks in with eating healthy. I’m already feeling less tired and this may be tmi, but I’m back to regular bm, no more constipation!! I feel so much better. Long term goals*? Add on some weights to tone up. And lose an additional 10lbs above and beyond what I wrote above. This may not be a typical healthy living thing, but I want to cut down on screen time. I watch too much tv and am on my phone a lot. I would like to get out more often with my husband and the baby. Healthy recipes to share? I love pretty much anything from Skinny Taste. I have both of her cookbooks and lots of recipes from her blog that I make all the time. Current favorite workouts? I’m not currently doing anything... so walking? Lol BONUS: who is a healthy person you admire? My brother just lost 30lbs. I think he’s doing a great job! I also actually admire myself when it comes to healthy eating. When I put my mind to it, I think I do a great job of keeping a balance. *Goals do NOT have to be about lbs lost Read more: howeverithappened.proboards.com/thread/13266/march-healthy-living-thread#ixzz59dmcwhRA

My DH doesn't know it yet, but I plan on making this a goal for our family too. Over the winter and with the pregnancy, we've had the TV on an awful lot. And I completely understand with the bms and constipation...that was a huge struggle for me during the pregnancy too so I'm relieved to be back to normal!

My hips grew a bit and never went back down. My body changed, and it wasn’t due to weight gain. So don’t feel bad if you never fit back in those jeans again!

Not as much anymore. I did when we lived in KC and had fewer children. Lol. But I’m signed up for a 10k on April 21st, and hopefully going to do a half in October.

You guys need to run out and get this stuff immediately I It’s 35 calories per serving (and lactose free for those mamas trying to avoid cows milk)... I got this kind and the chocolate PB cup which isn’t as good. But the salted caramel is fantastic and totally fixed my ice cream craving

I’ve tried only 1 halo kind before. It was the peanut butter one and it tasted a lot like protein powder. Let me know what you think of it and what flavor you try!! I’m definitely willing to try other flavors before I give up on it, especially since there was a drastic difference between flavors of the one above
