My sister is due at the end of the month and they are having trouble finding names they like. She keeps asking me for suggestions but I don't have any more ideas. They like older names and they like girls names that don't sound very feminine. Can't be in the top 1000 in popularity. Can't start with a B, S, or W, or end in an 's' sound. They like Scottish/Irish names. Older son is Wallace. They like Walter for a boy but it's too similar. They liked Imogen for a girl but say it's too popular. They were going to use Ellory for a girl, but 'Ellie' type names have become too popular.

Ernest and Esme immediately popped into my head. I didn’t check if either were in the top 1000 though.

MH's top girls name is Helen, which I think fits with their rules and style.

Edmund was our boy name. It’s not in the top 1000.
For girls... I love Mairead (parade with an m) and Octavia.
