bosco do you mean in their own room? I think it’s totally up to you. We had DD1 sleeping in our room in a pnp until she was 9 months. This baby is in a halo bassinet in our room until she outgrows that then we will put her in the pnp in our room until probably 6 months when we move her into her crib in her room.

STUCK IN BOX: I just meant when do I have to start putting him to sleep while we go downstairs vs. snuggling on the couch until we all go to bed together? haha

We had a terrible night last night (LO seemed to be super gassy), but I got a good nap in so I’m feeling decent. Can someone with a little bit older baby remind me when you start putting them down in their own spot for naps/bed? Right now after the toddler goes to bed I have snuggle time with the baby and it seems so scary to put him upstairs alone! But I know at some point I’ll have to. Like 6w? I started at around 7 or 8 weeks. I usually only do it at night. That’s mainly because his crib is up two flights of stairs and I am too lazy to do that for naps that are like 20 minutes long. I know with my DD at a certain point she would stop falling asleep with me on the couch while we were up watching TV or whatever...I'm guessing it was around that age.

bosco I'm wondering that too. J is 5 weeks and he is so far past the sleepy newborn stage. I should really try to get him sleeping in his own room for naps soon. But it's so hard. It takes longer to get him to sleep then the nap is. Plus it's hard with toddler.

So I think my milk is in but it's still super yellow like colostrum. Normal? My boobs are rocks.
Also they will eventually not be rocks right? Like she didn't even make a dent in it and wasn't interested on the other side despite active nursing for 15min.

Ps-I would hand express or manual pump a small amount for comfort but don't do too much!

On night 3 I got engored and had to work to get it down without it becoming a thing for about a week. Glad your milk is coming in!

OK cool. Hakka is upstairs in the nursery. I'm also dealing with a spinal headache as fall out so I'm doing a lot of side lying nursing... So I haven't even thought about the hakka yet. Thankfully the LC suggested side lie esp since I'm not new and it's been the biggest blessing bc this spinal headache shit sucks.

bosco oh haha. We usually watch tv in our room after DD1 goes to bed at 8 so I’m not sure we will do that until she’s in her crib.

Sorry to stick this in here, we’re going to try and give baby a bottle. I just pumped and got 3.5oz. She’s 7 weeks, nurses about 7 times a day. How much would you offer her? All 3.5oz?

DS2 is 3 weeks old and gets 3 oz of pumped milk every 3-4 hours. Once in awhile he’ll only drink 2.5 oz of it but most times finishes 3 oz without issue.

It’s H’s last day of leave and I’m more sad than I thought I would be. I feel like I’m going to be bored with no one to talk to.
DS1 and h are painting his bedroom today. I’m scared to go see the mess.

That reminds me I need to give DS a bottle today. He took it last weekend when the ILs watched him but I want to keep it up till he starts daycare in another week.

We went to target, Panera and babies r us. I forgot one of the things I needed from target but I am sure I will be back there soon so it’s no big deal. I bought a box of size 2 diapers because the size 1s are getting too small for my little meatball. I can’t wait to hear how big he has gotten at his dr appointment tomorrow.

Day 2 of solo parenting. Yesterday was a breeze but today is a shit show. Thankfully I went to the grocery store and got beers. I will have one as soon as I put L down. I really need to clean up my house but I think I will nap when the boys nap.

I was just thinking that we will buy 2’s when we run out of 1s. Tomorrow is L’s 4 month appointment, hopefully he’ll be okay after his shots. I am solo until Friday. 😳

Hi! After a little blizzard rolled through yesterday morning, it stopped in the afternoon in time for a few friends to drive out for a mini bday celebration for my H. Nothing big, supper, our kids played for awhile, and when they crashed we played cards till midnight and had a lot of fun! marygracerich annnd bassa (? I think? I’m trying to remember who’s H’s are also dnders haha)..this is the cake the kids and I made lol! Nothing fancy but he loved it It’s his actual birthday tomorrow so we saved gifts for then. Today I’ve been browsing the internet for kids spring jackets/rubber boots and having fun looking at it all. I’m not in a huge rush because we still have no temps above freezing in the 2 week forecast, so the snow isn’t going anywhere for awhile. Speaking of, still under a snowfall warning for round 2 supposedly starting later today. Our perma snow has been on the ground since November 1... the more kids I add to the family the more ready I am for spring by this point, despite my patience and some appreciation for winter at the beginning haha!

sunfrogger don’t put her down!! Enjoy the snuggles! Baby already doesn’t nap well for me if I’m holding her and that started at 6 weeks. Snuggle till you can’t snuggle anymore.

We went to eat and it was a success followed by BRU for a toddler bed and then the Park. DS is outside in the backyard with DH and I'm inside with the sleeping baby. A good day!

We had another pretty quiet day today. My mom and her SO visited for a few hours, he is like a grandfather to DS and he absolutely loves when they visit. We didn’t do much the rest of the day, a little more organizing and figuring out where to put all the baby stuff. DS had way too many toys and I’m going to start going through them when he’s at school Tuesday, I can’t take it anymore! DH goes back to work tomorrow, I’m kinda sad about it. I know I will be fine and figure out a new normal with the two kids by myself, but I’m going to miss him and his help.

I read to take 25-30 oz and divide by how often they feed & that’s how much to put in the bottle. For DS it’s 4 oz.

First ped appt is tomorrow!
O is starting her night time cluster feeding already I think. But she's tinier and I assume will eat more often and just less than dd1 did.
I had 2 coffees today and they basically kept my spinal headache at bay. Hopefully that does the trick until it resolves itself.
Have to finish school work and fold wash tonight. I'm hoping tomorrow we can test out how loud crying is from Os room so maybe I can try to sleep in a real bed and not the couch. 🙌🏻

sunfrogger did you have the spinal headache at the hospital? I thought there was an antidote to that now?
