Annoying neighbor is back at it. He wanted to split our kids so we could take turns working since both home with kids. Um no, I'd like to neglect my kids and work in peace. 1 year olds aren't ready for dropoff playdates. So now somehow I'm watching his kids while he has a call at 3. I turned down his invitation for lunch. I also had to vacuum and now must tidy up the kitchen before they come over. Whyyyy this is so weird to me! I can't imagine my H ever attempting a conversation like this. I agree with kim22, time to get on the house hunting!

tallb I think you got an unexpected call and will need to be out of the house for the next several hours.

We ended up at a trampoline park. I want to get the boys one this summer. But there was this 2 year old boy that kept coming up and hugging A. It was so sweet.

H is on the ground, thankfully. The wind is crazy, 2 of my friends are without power so far. I just charged several thousand dollars in medical bills to my Amex. Bye money.

It's not like their older girl gets along with j! I don't know how to pronounce her name and I don't even 100% know the baby's name🤦

My mom's powers been out all day and a huge tree fell in her neighbors yard... thankfully away from the houses or it could have been a direct hit on her room😬. If it doesn't come back for her tonight I may go fetch her.

It's odd to me that he is the one doing all the reaching out. Maybe I'm sexist or old-school or generalizing but I can't imagine my DH trying to arrange playdates with a mom.

I guess he's their social coordinator? kim22 Maybe this will convince mh to stop dilly dallying about houses! I found one that meets all of our needs yesterday and in budget/good schools and I asked him to look at it and his response was "meh", not doing much for me🤷.

He probably called her bitching about having to be home with the kids all day, so she told him to nicely ask the neighbor for help, to which he finagled free babysitting.

jewels how did the allergy appt go? Did you know there are 4 allergy friendly girl scout cookies? Thin mints included. He tested really low for chick peas and lentils so he wants me to slowly start introducing them. He won’t retest him for peanuts till he’s 2 but he said based on how low he scored he thinks he’ll outgrow it! He also gave me a prescription for his excema since he believes it’s allergy related. Thanks for asking!!

MH would arrange a play date with a mom... if the mom was one of our friends in our neighborhood or something. And it'd be a meet up to play outside or something because C asked to play with her kid. And MH would be there too, he wouldn't ask to drop our kids off with her! One time last summer I was walking with C and we stopped so he could play with one of his neighborhood friends outside. The dad (who at that time I didn't know very well) was like, "You don't have to stay, I can just bring him home in a little bit". Nice, but no. I don't really know you and I'm not just leaving my kid at your house.

wedding, mostly I'm disappointed in C for having such crappy taste in treats. Oreos? Dude at least save it for Milanos to throw fits. nam2013 glad it works out you still get some solo time. kim22 wahoo your husband is in flight! Stay safe eastcoasters. tallb et. al, I'd be annoyed but not weirded out. To me it makes no difference that it's a man asking rather than a woman. He's the one home with the kids so of course he is asking? But still it seems like he wanted free babysitting for an important phone call and was just using the kid swap thing as a way to finagle that. Meh. I'd just make damn sure there's a clear pick up time after that phone call. Like you're pounding on his door with his mystery-named baby if he's not there that very minute. I don't like watching other people's kids because my days of babysitting ended like 2 decades ago.

So I finished LaLa Land. It was just okay to me. I really like Emma Stone (one of my girl crushes) but it didn't do it for me. My husband on the other hand was hushing the children and tearing up. Don't tell him I told you.

From what I remember, tallb doesn't even really know them and they've never spent time together. If he was saying the kids were going stir-crazy and asking for a play date to break up the day, sure. But to basically just want to drop off your kids at a strangers house is odd to me.

But to basically just want to drop off your kids at a strangers house is odd to me. I don't disagree, but a lot of other people did seem a bit freaked out that it was a man. That part has me very whatever about the whole thing. It's definitely an annoyance but it seems like there's always at least one BS neighbor who pulls that shit. We had one, who thankfully moved away, that always managed to be on the receiving end of needing someone to watch her kids for a couple hours. My husband usually did it. Once when 2 other girls from Maddie's school were going to have a playdate the mom of one of them peaced out ASAP. MH, the other mom, and me were like "Um...did she not get that it wasn't babysitting and she was expected to stick around?" We all shared the same asshole opinion though that we didn't want to have to make awkward conversation with her so whatever, just get your kid on time. I guess I've just seen this kind of a-holery a lot and am not phased.

It's not that he's a man, he's just kind of a weird man. There is another family on our floor and our boys are friendly and I would be fine coordinating with him.. especially since our kids are buddies.
Yes we will be returning the kids once they are done. J is quite excited though and drew a picture for the girl, so it's fine. Hopefully the baby doesn't choke on a toy since I'm kind of a crappy babyproofer and N is relatively good at note eating stuff these days.
EtA: he just texted this at 2:50 Thanks. How do you feel about us coming at 4? I'm a bit worried about the girls not taking to a new space well as I think I might need to be there for comfort
Now HE is going to be coming over too. For f's sake. I want to say no but j is asking me every 5 minutes if she's coming over yet

I'd just respond, "why don't you just take them home at that time and we'll keep the visit short? We'll need to be getting ready for dinner." I mean, it was supposed to be for a phone call--how long can a phone call be? Make your call and get your kids. The end.

Hiii! How is it the middle of the afternoon already? I’ve been consumed by raffle prize organizing all day. I’m too type a for this... I want everything to be perfect and all of the prizes to have a theme. But we have some random donations that don’t fit in. But I get to go shopping tomorrow to by filler items and I’m overly excited.

Do you guys let your N13’ers at anyone’s house unsupervised? I had a mom ask me last weekend if i could drop O off. I “know” her because we’ve met at playgrounds a few times for play dates and I’ve been to her house twice. Also her son is in pre-k with O. BUT her son is almost a year older than O and doesn’t listen to his mom at all. DH thinks this kid is a turd (to put it nicely) and doesn’t want O to be friends with him because he always bosses O around. Also the boy has a brother that is 3 years older than him. The mom also has a 1 year old girl. Anyway, when she asked me i just pictured in my head the two boys tying O up and putting him in a closet or something and him in tears. I don’t think I’d ever let him go to this particular family’s house without me. Mainly because the two brothers do not listen and are kinda rough. However, if O gets closer with some of my other friend’s kids that are his age (like my Vegan P&P friend cagoldi), i might let him go unsupervised if he felt comfortable.
