For us too! I would have 100 percent preferred no snow and to continue with our recent spring weather. But such is life in the northeast. yeah I work at a school and we used all of our snow days so this will be taken out of our April break

We're having a Vacation day, Texas style at work today and I absolutely love it!! It's so freaking cute seeing all the little old ladies in their duds with cowboy hats on their heads :-D I did my hair up in French braids and I'm wearing jeans and a plaid shirt. Any excuse for me to get dressed up lol

We're trying to decide if H is going to go to work Thursday and Friday after F is born and take the next week off, or if he's just going to take Wednesday through Friday and then have Saturday through Monday off. If he goes to work, I'll have to find someone to come stay with me for a few hours since my parents won't be there until the next week. My BFF is heading out of town on Thursday so that's a no go.
What would you do?

We were able to petition the state last year and get it waived, but not likely to happen again this year.

What would you do? I think Canada might be different, but here in the US I had to take V to his initial ped appt the first day after our discharge. We ended up having high bilirubin levels and feeding issues that required a lot of follow up stuff and I was a mess. I really needed H there to help me handle that. Plus, with extreme exhaustion and not being able to drive for that first week, it was much easier having H home than coordinating help from others. I don't know how postnatal care for you and baby works in Canada, so it may be an easier situation for you to navigate. ETA: When is your c-section? The way you wrote I assumed you'd be home on the two days in question, but if it's right after he's born you may still be in the hospital.

Having him at home with me the next week was much more helpful.

We also have a snow day. It's more like an ice day, since the snow is on top of many hours of rain before it switched to snow. Main roads are fine, the dirt roads in our area are complete shit, though, so no complaints. We went to get coffee (for me) & donuts (for all of us) and now we're watching a movie.

We have a wind day? There were quite a few trees down in my 8 minute drive to the OB. I did my GD test this morning. They stopped making the lemon-lime one I had with my son so I had to settle for orange. I'm glad they keep it cold. The OB confirmed that I can pick any day between 39 and 40 weeks for my RCS if I go that route. I've already picked my last day of work and let my admin know. I'm guessing that after my growth scan at 32 weeks that the call will be made if I need to have an RCS.

Wind day here. Power outages and trees down. DH is working from home so I’m going to take DD out to a gymnastics class to get her out of his hair so he can get some work done.

With the c-section, having someone with you is more helpful in the beginning and as was mentioned before, you won’t be able to drive so you’ll have to have him or someone there to drive you to the pedi appointments.

budders jessila yes, the doctor who does them does them on Wednesday mornings. He'd take that day for sure. I'm not sure about the after care, I know that my family doctor wants to see him at about 2 weeks, but my mom will be here for that. I know I have to have someone there with me pretty much at all times, so I'll put a call out to my friends and see if anyone would be able to help out. The promise of squishy baby cuddles will probably draw them in lol

He can come in after work and you'll have nurses there to help you. I'd rather him be there the whole next week at home when you don't have nurses around anymore.

You won't need as much help there as you will once you're home.

Big NOPE to being in the hospital for 5 days. I've had two sections now and I'm dying to get home after 24 hours and ready first thing in the morning and all packed up & ready to peace out as soon as they'll let us after 48.

Yeah my OB said with subsequent c/s they usually let us go home after 2 nights versus the usual 3. With the big kid's unplanned, I checked into the hospital around midnight on Saturday. He was born at 1:47PM Saturday afternoon. We were home Monday around 4pm. A's Tuesday section was an 8AM start time and we were released around noon on Thursday. Neither had major complications, but the nurses didn't add my headache to my chart, which pissed my OB off, since I ended up in the ER on Friday with a spinal headache. It would have been taken care of on Thursday had the nurses added it to my chart and would have delayed our release, but I would have rathered that in the grand scheme of things than having to get into the car & drive there again three days post op. Mostly, though, I'd rather my general life interruptions as opposed to all the annoying hospital ones. The blood pressure checks, and loud people in the hallway, etc. Plus the beds are so uncomfortable.

XD she wasn't too happy either. She was only supposed to be there for 2 nights, but her son lost too much weight because she wasn't producing enough milk, so they had to keep them until he leveled out. I was there to visit with her for every one of those 5 days :-)

Big fat nope to that! That would suck. With DD, I was in the hospital from Friday evening until Tuesday afternoon thanks to being induced. And that took forever.

Lol My hospital made it a bit too cushy and I did not want to leave after 4 days. Hopefully recovery will be easier with an scheduled CS this time and having it be in the morning instead of really late at night after being induced for over 12 hours and having a dicey situation all day with DS.

I mean, my nurses were nice & our care was awesome, but it was still a hospital & I’d rather be a hot recovering mess at home.
ETA: I also get that this is totally a "me thing". If recovering at the hospital is your jam, then I love it for you. For me, 5 days would be literal hell & I would most likely be going way crazy.

I went into labor with O on a Tuesday evening, had an emergency csection early Wednesday morning, and headed home Saturday. I was ready to GTFO of there but am looking forward to extra forced recovery time if I go the RCS route. My hospital is pretty good in the maternity wing...the rest of it is meh. My nurses were amazing including one who scavenged real food for me after realizing they gave me a clear liquid diet for an extra meal. She found me a turkey sandwich and a fruit cup when the cafeteria was closed.

If I could safely leave the hospital the next morning after a c section, I would. I hate the hospital.

EVERY TIME I get into the car to start driving home from work, F goes NUTS. It's so distracting lol. Today I had a punch and a kick at the same time even. I'd really like to know what it is about the car that gets him going so much lol

Also DNW to stay in hospital longer than I have to.
UO: Maybe if they had a nursery, I wouldn't mind staying longer. Second night after DS was born, the nurses took him to the nursery for a few hours so we could sleep before going home and it was the best.

My hospital doesn't have a nursery anymore either but if you ask the nurses will take the baby to their station and snuggle them so you can sleep. While they're very 'baby-friendly,' the nurses still do what is needed for your sanity. O wouldn't sleep unless someone was holding him so the nurse came in, adjusted the bed so I was reclining, shoved a ton of pillows around me, put him in my arms, and told me to sleep. The next night a different nurse did something similar. They were saints.

TTMA Braxton Hicks. I've been getting this crazy quivering/vibrating all over my uterus. Goes on for 6-10 seconds, stops, then starts again. Googling tells me people have experienced similar things before, but it seems to be a bit odd?

Sounds like google is giving you good news for once.

My waist line is now officially non existent. I am starting to feel extremely large and I still have 8 weeks of lots of baby growing. I also ate like crap this weekend so I’m basically just feeling great about myself. Ah, pregnancy.

Mine also tends to get tighter on my right side than my left.
