For the purposes of this check-in, we will define extended breastfeeding as breastfeeding beyond 1 year. Questions are repeated and suggestions are appreciated! 1. How old is your LO? 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3. Have you had to give up any foods while nursing due to allergies in your LO? 4. Does the thought of weaning make you sad or would it be a relief? Or somewhere in between? Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? Tandem Nursing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any current challenges? Questions for other moms? Non-BFing question of the week: What is your favorite activity to do in your city/town?

Well ladies, after 29 months, my daughter self-weaned. I knew this day would come. It seems like she was leading me up to it. Gradually decreasing the amount of time she nursed in the morning until finally she no longer asked for boobies. Our journey is bittersweet. It started so crazy because she was in the NICU the first 3 weeks of her life and was tube fed most of that time. I pumped until I had a mega oversupply. She had a milk protein intolerance. We had a rough start with her latch because of being so tiny. But, after using a nipple shield to get us started and seeking counsel from an awesome lacatation consultant...we were on our way. This was by far the neatest and most cherished experience of my life and I cannot thank you all enough for enduring love and support. I'm very sad it's over.

1. How old is your LO?2 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 2-3 3. Have you had to give up any foods while nursing due to allergies in your LO? no. 4. Does the thought of weaning make you sad or would it be a relief? Or somewhere in between? sad! dd is winding down some and i know the day will come. i love those special moments and will really miss them. i think part of the sadness is just that she won't be little forever and i won't get all those hugs and cuddles all the time but i'm going to get them as much as i can!
Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? we are doing well. no pain or aversion. dd has decreased her nursing a decent amount. somedays it's only 2 times which is a big decrease.
Non-BFing question of the week: What is your favorite activity to do in your city/town? hiking

Technically I don't really go here until next week, but I thought I'd jump in if you'll have me.
1. How old is your LO? 12 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? On weekdays, just before daycare, after, and at bedtime. But when we're together all day I haven't really kept count. 3. Have you had to give up any foods while nursing due to allergies in your LO? She has a reaction to chocolate - it's just spitting up. It used to be more sensitive but still if I have a piece of cake with real chocolate in it, she'll spit up. 4. Does the thought of weaning make you sad or would it be a relief? Or somewhere in between? Somewhere in between. I think now I'd just like to cut back on pumping.
Non-BFing question of the week: What is your favorite activity to do in your city/town? I love going to the arboretum with our dog, especially in the spring.

1. Almost 2.25 yo 2. 3-6 times per day 3. Yes, she has all the allergies. I still have to follow her diet as well as she reacts through breast milk. Triggers that remain are dairy, soy, legumes, peanuts, rice, eggs, wheat, oats, artificial sweeteners. At least she has out grown beef, fish, shellfish (the latter two she won’t eat, but I can eat and it doesn’t bother her), and corn. 4. Weaning would be so bittersweet right now. Sometimes I long for it, but as we are done having kiddos, it also makes me sad.
QOTW: we have a really cute little Main Street we can walk to with restaurants, shops, and playgrounds. We just live outside during nice weather.

I missed last month, but I just wanted to say thank you everyone for support and providing a community.
DS and I weaned just about his due date for 2, though he was 2 years and 2mo.
He was not exactly willing, but I was done and he is thriving now despite not having “that”.
I BF from November 2013-July 2015 and then November 2015-January 2018. I am very, very excited to enter the next chapter of toddlerhood/parenthood and my DDD are back down to a very manageable, yet saggier, B.
Keep on boobin’ mama’s!
