It’s taken a little over 2 weeks to finally get this typed up.
Anywho around 5am on Sunday, February 11th (37+2) I woke up with some diarrhea and just felt off. As the morning continued some contractions started picking up and growing closer together, however they would start to fade and come back. Nausea kicked in about 9am and by 10:30 we made the call to our parents that I should be checked out. (DD1 was born at 34+4 so my midwife had said early on to head in if I felt necessary)
We arrived at the hospital by 11:30am and I was monitored for about an hour and had 2 bags of fluid for dehydration. At this point they figured I had the GI Bug possibly causing contractions, but I was 3cm.
Suddenly, the baby’s heart rate dropped below 70 for 8 minutes. They had me rolling in the bed trying get it to come up. Thankfully, it did but at this point they called everyone available and prepped for an emergency C section. It was 1pm and at 1:45pm Th.ea Clem.entine came out screaming weighing 6lbs 6oz 18.5 inches long.
Finally, they brought my husband in the room after everyone was deemed healthy. I had asked so many times where he was and was told he was getting in scrubs until then. The doctor also determined I had a beginning of a slight placental abruption during the section. It all happened so quickly! I was so glad to of made the decision to get checked out. I can’t really allow myself to think about the what if’s.
The next morning I had a bad reaction to the pain killers, so I could only be on Tylenol and Motrin which was pretty brutal. Things are great now and I love seeing my girls (17 months apart) together!
