Good morning everyone!
I stayed up way too late trying to watch the closing ceremonies last night. Finally gave up and I'll finish them on the DVR tonight. Should have given up way earlier and gone to bed!

Oh, and I think I mentioned before that my brother is getting married in June and I'm a bridesmaid. Originally the plan was to TFAS after the wedding but obviously things changed. I'm mad at myself that I was not more secretive about when we were planning to TFAS because my FSIL has a big mouth and has brought up multiple times how I'm a good SIL and we were waiting until after the wedding.
Well I saw FSIL last night and another one of her bridesmaids is pregnant. Sounds like she's about 2 weeks ahead of me. During the conversation FSIL goes "and here we thought I had to worry about you."
Should be a fun conversation in a couple weeks when we start telling people after the NT scan.

I'm about to send an email to my department letting them all know I'm KU. My dept chair has known from the beginning, as well as a couple of others I'm close with. As much as I don't feel like disclosing yet, I'm tired of walking around like a weirdo in oversized sweaters who has no time to chat and can't make eye contact.

Nymeria wow. She's gonna feel like an ass.... I'm sorry she's talking that way to you. And I sure hope the other bride's maid didn't hear it. How hurtful.

Nymeria wow. She's gonna feel like an ass.... I'm sorry she's talking that way to you. And I sure hope the other bride's maid didn't hear it. How hurtful. Thanks. This was at a family dinner at my parents house and the conversation was just between us to the other BM wasn't around for it. She hasn't been bridezilla at all, so I'm hoping for surprised but in the end realizes it doesn't impact the wedding at all. I've never been the type of person to do so, so hopefully I'm worried for nothing, but I can't help worry people might think I'm trying to steal other family members' thunder. This is the second family wedding in a row I was a bridesmaid in and ended up pregnant for the wedding. I make sure to make it 100% about the couple at wedding events, but I still can't help but worry. I usually don't care what people think so I'm a little surprised this is even on my mind.

I haven't watched any of the olympics. I feel a little guilty about it. But we don't have a tv.
I ate way too much this weekend while family was visiting. It made me feel so sick.
I chickened out and didn't tell my family this weekend because they already were dealing with a bunch of crazy family drama, I didn't want them to be upset at me too.
I also learned about SO's brother wanting to get married at the end of October and possibly wants DD in wedding. They live 4 hours away. I'm bummed because I will most likely have to miss it and I've been so excited for their future wedding. I selfishly hope they pick an earlier or later date so I can go.

pixiepink24 I had to miss my sister's wedding (I was the matron of honor) because I had DD (6 days late) the night before her wedding. It sucked a ton, but we knew the whole time it could happen where I wouldn't be there, and they just tried to include me by video chatting, sending pics, etc.

I also don't want to miss out on my daughter's first possible flower girl opportunity. I can't even imagine those emotions 😭😭😭

Nymeria my best friend and matron of honor had a surprise pregnancy after we ordered the dresses. She was so worried I was going to be upset and of course I was not. Her seamstress worked magic on the dress. brenna that must have be so tough! I'm glad they tried to include you. pixiepink24 I would be sad to miss that too, I hope they go without a different date. Had our first appointment this morning. One babe tucked away nicely with a flickering heartbeat. Measuring a few days behind (6/1 versus 6/4) I didn't confirm ovulation so not too worried. I really love my new OB (maybe even more than my old one and we were very close). Very easy to talk to and seems laid back (even felt sad for me that coffee now tastes bad haha). She also said we can have an appointment to just discuss VBAC vs RCS. I've made no decisions and would really appreciate hearing all sides. All in all really happy and things feel "more real" now.

Hello all!
This pregnancy is really kicking my but between the nausea and exhaustion. I feel like my meds are starting to not be as effective and am more nauseous lately. Ugh.
My grandpa (94) is currently having a procedure done to open up a valve in his heart. The outcome looks good and should help his quality of life for the next few months, but he's old, so there's always the chance that things go badly. I'm trying not to worry too much though.
We announced at church yesterday. DS was so excited when I showed him that he was going to wear his big brother shirt. MH wants to tell his aunt in person, and then we'll go FB official! This is starting to get more real.

I found ramen at the grocery store and had that for lunch yesterday and felt like a new person. Carbs and salt- great combo baby lol.
This morning I had to go get some bloodwork done and a vaginal swab for I have no idea what. Thankfully I went early and was in and out in 20 minutes. Have my first ultrasound on Friday and next appointment next Monday. Can't believe I am 11 weeks tomorrow.
My boobs were so sorry this morning and and realized they have def plumped up a lot already. I'm a dairy come post-birth so this doesn't surprise me.

getdownplease I definitely have to tell my bosses sooner thank want too. My immediate boss I want to tell as soon as we have a good ultrasound. But the company as a whole is keeping her dark as long as possible, but because I'm the first employee in Portugal I know they will have to figure out the paperwork. I have low expectations that they will get it done in time if I don't give them as much time as possible. Lol.

Busy day today. Going to the park, then my SO returns (he travels pretty consistently for work), the girls have a Gymboree class, then we have a sitter coming because we have a counseling appointment, then going to an open house for the practice I used with DD in case the birth center doesn't work out.
Have you guys used Usit before? It's basically an app that uses only university students. This will be our third time and we've never used any sitters before that. I'm actually liking it, though you pay like a 9% fee each time.

I have to say, I feel a lot better now that I'm "out." The HR shenanigans should be interesting, but at least I don't have to be secretive.

Last time I didn't know until I was 6+ weeks along and that seemed like forever, and this time I found out at 4 weeks. ugh. I'll probably tell my direct supervisor early like I did last time (I think about 8-9 weeks) and then we'll go public with everyone else at the 11 or 12 week mark. I'm going to be doing a lot of fake drinking in the meantime...

I'm not a big drinker in general, but people still jump to pregnant when I turn down a drink. I should be able to say no without it having some reason behind it!

It's my husband's fault for telling everyone and their mother we were trying for a second. It's so annoying when everyone jumps to pregnancy. There is a woman in my office who has been driving me crazy the past few months with asking me nearly every time she sees me when we're having a second baby. My standard answer has been a deadpan "you'll find out when there's news". but she still won't give up on it. It was especially frustrating in the months that we were TTC and I was having issues with my cycle suddenly being irregular and having a lot of feelings around how long it was taking. Imagine if I dealt with actual IF. One of the pitfalls of being one of the few married women of childbearing age in my office (most of them are middle-aged or grandmothers and therefore have the baby rabies).

I'm officially crazy. An incredibly close friend who was in my wedding is getting married November 17. I'm planning to go to the wedding in Chicago with the baby. Sushi will be 2 months old approximately. It will also be achanceformy mom and step dad teeth the baby without having nto fly to Portugal. Chicago is a much easier trip!
