Oh man, I remember the lansinoh ones held like an amazing amount. Like a sickly, amazing amount of breast milk!

+1 for Lansinoh disposable and Bamboobies (heart shape) for reusable.

I was asking my mom friends today about pumps because I’ll get a new one through insurance. I have a ton of choices but I’m narrowing down to Medela and Spectra. From what I’ve read and heard if you pump a lot, Spectra is better so I’ll likely go with that one this time. I still have my old pump so I’ll keep one at work and one at home

I got the Medela Freestyle last time because it’s super small and light. It was nice to not have to lug around a bigger pump. You also don’t have to be tethered to an outlet and you can clip it on your pant (if I recall correctly). The reviews weren’t as good as the PISA in terms of strength but I also had a hospital grade pump at home in the beginning and didn’t necessarily get more output (just took a little longer). The freestyle was a good option for me because I had to travel a little bit in the first year. To be honest though, towards the end, I loved (maybe there’s a better word in the pumping context) using the manual pump. I felt like the whole process was quick and easy.
I’ll probably look at the PISA this time, assuming that my old freestyle still works, and any other new models that have good reviews.
Not looking forward to pumping though if BF works out.

This fits here and I don't feel like making a new thread. Can anyone suggest nursing pads? I wasn't a fan of Lansinoh last time around. Deciding between disposable and washable or a mix of the two. There was one kind of Lansinoh I liked and another that I didn't. The one I didn't like was itchy and rough. I also never actually attached them to my bra because they always got disconnected and stuck to my nipple. I'm pretty sure the ones I like are Stay Dry kind. I also had Medela pads and they were awful. I used reusable overnight and disposable during the day. I really liked the Nuk reusable ones. I think I have 6 sets of them floating around in my sock drawer right now waiting for next time.

FWIW I had a Medela Swing last time and thought it was really average. I got a Spectra S2 instead and it was amazing at getting a much better quantity out in quicker time. Bamboobie breast pads were much gentler on my poor nips than disposables but they did show through clothes so much... I haven’t seen the heart shaped ones!

I’m having a hard time deciding on which pump to get. My ins covers both the Medela PISA and Spectra S2 Plus. Both have really good reviews and replacement parts are available on amazon for about the same price. Why is this so hard? It was so much easier last time when my ins only covered the Ameda Purely Yours and I didn’t get a choice 🙂.

Anybody heard or have experience with the Medela sonata? I am debating between that and the Spectra s1 or s2.

I’m hoping my insurance covers it this time. My PISA was okay last time, but not great.

I obviously haven't used the Spectra yet, but when I got it I turned it on. It's a lot quieter than the PISA.

I had a PISA and Spectra. I struggled with low supply and the Spectra was total garbage for me. PISA did alright but in august I’m eligible for a new pump and I’m hoping to get the new Medela. I’m also considering renting a hospital grade as I really struggled with supply when I went back to work and would like to try something different.
ETA: full disclosure, I have under the muscle implants and we’re unsure if that had anything to do with my pump issues. Baby gained weight just fine with EBF. Once I went back to work after 12 weeks I couldn’t even pump half of what she needed in a day.
