Happy Thursday! It’s my due date. DS is showing no signs of wanting to be punctual. At least I can start freaking people out when they ask me when I’m due. “RIGHT NOW! AAAH!”

We are up. I am keeping G home from school again today. MH is doing a court thing for his friend. When he gets home, I’m going to try and get G into the dr. I don’t want to bring the baby to the office if I don’t have to so it’s ideal for me to wait for MH. I am super nauseous and I have no idea why. I hope I’m not getting sick.

DS only woke up at 2:30 last night & is up for the day now (7:45). DD had a really rough night up with her fever but thankfully H took care of that so I could sleep. Feeling rested & ready to face another long day of sick toddler. Thankfully her fever broke early this morning but it had been scary high overnight so we’re still being very cautious.

I'm so thankful DH helps overnight. I don't like to brag because I know many of you handle it in your own. My seizure activity increases when I'm sleep deprived so he often does most of it so I can sleep. DS2 is slowly sleeping longer chunks at night so that helps everyone.

Hi all.
Just hanging out before heading to my parents so I can go to my drs appt (my mom who is disabled and doesn't work watches her for me for stuff like this).
I'm all up in my feels this morning with not knowing when this baby is going to come and my DD not being the only anymore. She wanted me to rock her this morning "like a baby mommy" and I saw her baby face staring up at me not her big girl face. Totally lost it. And she sat up and said mommy, shhh, it's okay no tears. 😭😭😭😭
It's definitely what I've struggled with the most with connecting to this baby so I'm really concerned about it. While we had intended to have our kids 2-3 years apart, I didn't anticipate any of these feels at all. So. Um. I'm going to go sit in a corner and cry.

sunfrogger, I was having the same feels and then baby was in my arms and all was well. Not to say I don’t ever feel guilty or whatever for not having the same time for DS1, but overall I’m so happy and know adding baby to our family now is perfect. Plus DS1 loves him and it’s adorable.

2 week check-up for little bit this morning! I’m anxious to see his weight. I’ve been supplementing this whole time so it should be fine!

sunfrogger I had all those exact same emotions. As soon as LO was placed on my chest I was instantly in love with her though. I still struggled for the first couple weeks “mourning” over DD1 not being my only anymore, and honestly I still get a little sad and nostalgic when thinking back to when our days were just me and her and I could love and dote on only her. But it doesn’t change my love that I have for DD2 at all. It’s just an adjustment. Feel all the feels you need to over it!

I have one hour to feed baby and finish getting me and DD2 thru 4 ready to go to the doctor. When DD1 was born the thought of taking her to the doc by myself would give me anxiety. Now I’m off on my own with three of them. It’s going to be a shit show I’m sure but oh well. I’ve run out of fucks to give. 🤷🏼♀️
———
TW: heavy emotions?
I had all the feels this morning watching DD1 get on the bus this morning. I just can’t handle these school shootings. I watch her get on from the window in my laundry room, and as the doors closed behind her the tears started flowing. What if she never came home again? How could I possibly cope? Lifting up prayers for those families who don’t get to hug their children anymore.

I caught my husband putting a throat lozenge in his mouth this morning. Cue my panic. He was like oh, my throats just a little scratchy, just dry air. This is how it always starts. 🔪🔪

I am up feeding L, i debating whether I want to go back to sleep for an hour. Eh even tho I don’t want to I should get up and get stuff together since today is a school day. L also has a doc appt, I am pretty excited to see his weight gain and what the doc says. I’ve been bfing him all but 2-3 feds. I should get up and go make coffee before I change my mind.

Our furnace is acting up.
My husband is downstairs with a technician right now and I really hope this is an inexpensive fix.

Last night was pretty great. I'm feeling rested for the first time in like 4 months. H was invited to observe DD at preschool today so I'm home alone with the baby. I am SO excited for him to tell me every little thing DD does all day. I never get any info from her and not much more from the teacher. He texted me this picture. It's a painting of our dog, obviously. DD wears a hat all the time. 🤷🤷

I know we are in an epically bad germ winter but having a baby in January hasn’t been that great for me. I’m very extra on germs so I’m sure that’s adding to it and that’s on me, but I’m longing for my August or October birth months where I could just walk the baby in the stroller or get fresh air with the older kid.
But, it will be nice that these babies are older and off the constant boob and on more of a schedule come summer but they won’t want to crawl everywhere yet which brings its own challenges.

I’m laying in bed. MH took off to Help his friend with something and thank god he did. I am soooooo nauseous and I have bad stomach pain. I’m currently trying to keep down dry toast. I hear the baby downstairs crying and I have no idea why he is. MH needs to get it together.

ajetter even though my kiddos are not school age yet the shooting weigh heavily on my mind. How have we come to a world that our children aren't even safe at school????? I also teach at the university level and have honestly thought of exit strategies in each of my classrooms and get a little anxious if I'm scheduled to teach in one of the larger lecture halls on campus. Depending on how our legislative session goes in our state goes this year I may actually start to conceal carry on campus. I HATE that I have to do that to feel safe.

I'm cranky today. Someone help me. Or better, drink wine for me.
DD1 is being especially challenging today.
I'm 39w1d and still closed. My drs office gave me the run around on even being able to schedule an appt that wasn't idk like 330 next week. I'm just really cranky and it irritated me more than it would normally.

Today is my last day of work! Everyone is on February break next week, and I should have an outside baby before school starts again on the 26th. It feels weird to leave my students with a substitute for such a long time, I am not coming back until the fall. I am super excited about being home for that long, but also can’t help but worry about how everything will go at school.
I think I have been having some contractions, the pain has been radiating down my legs and it’s not fun. I was having a lot while trying to cook dinner and eat last night but I took a bath and relaxed and they went away. I had this for two nights with my son and then went into labor, so we will see! I wouldn’t mind not having to be induced!

We survived well visits! We are being referred to an ENT/audiologist for DD2 to make sure her speech issues aren’t hearing related. She has a large vocabulary, but at 2.5 she is understood less than half the time. 👎🏻 Otherwise everyone looks good.
We are having some serious diaper leakage issues. I thought the bulk of it was because maybe she was too big for the newborn diapers. We tried a pack of size ones that were seventh generation (we had been using pampers, these were a gift) and that seemed to do the trick. I tried a size one in pampers and they leaked so I just assumed we weren’t a pampers family anymore. But the seventh generation just leaked. I’ve diapered three kids plus worked in childcare. I’ve done my fair share of diapers. What the heck is going on?!?! It’s generally leaking out the leg openings. I try to make sure they are as snug as possible but it’s not working. Thoughts?
Sorry for the novel about diaper leakage.

is anyone strictly formula feeding? I have a question on how many oz your LO's are drinking per feed. DS2 is Currently at 40z per feed but sometimes he seems hungry after or a bit later and given our recent stomach surgery i'm hesitant to up it but also don't want to restrict the little guy

Being super pregnant in July and August sucked but it was great when he was tiny and it was early fall and so nice outside. I definitely miss that. I'm not a germaphobe at all but with a tiny baby and everyone getting the flu I have been anxious about it especially with a toddler in daycare who loves to hug the baby.

DS2 is Currently at 40z per feed but sometimes he seems hungry after or a bit later and given our recent stomach surgery i'm hesitant to up it but also don't want to restrict the little guy We're strictly formula feeding, but DD is on a higher than standard fortification than standard (24cal per oz vs the standard 20cal/oz). She eats approximately 3oz per feed, with 6 or 7 feeds per day. She is considered term this week, and will likely increase feeds soon, since she's been on the same volume for a week or so. When she seems to be consistently finishing all of her bottles or waking more often to eat, we try offering larger bottles. DD tends to spit up in her sleep if she eats too much.
