I had a long list of names for a while. Like 10 I think, and then a couple weeks ago I was like let’s start vetoing and just kind of narrowed down to 1. His middle name was super hard for is to decide but we finally settled on Griffin Kalani. I haven’t shared irl yet and may not until the baby is born. PDQ I may edit out the name at some point.

We sat down at lunch today and narrowed a list of 25 names down to 8 so we're getting there. At least we're getting an idea. Maybe we can knock off 1-2 names a week. Also, this is relevant to the whole naming thing (or just knowing too many people with the names):

H has officially, still secret from the world even though many know it's our only choice, agreed to Ly.dia Le.e. The mn is MILs mn and GFIL's name.

We narrowed it down to 3 names: Liam, Ian, and Kai. All sound okay with our last name. We don't have a middle name anymore, but I don't care. I tested the three out on DS and he likes Liam the best, but can pronounce them all. Is Liam still one of those super popular names that people avoid?

I don’t feel like Liam is as popular right now as it was before. I haven’t heard many Liam’s in DS daycare.

All 3 of those names were on my boy list 💙 Popular names are so different than they were when we were younger. I teach elementary music so Ive had up to 625 students in a year. The most of one name I had was 3 Emma's in one grade out of 120 kids. I graduated high school in a class of 300 and there were at least 10 girls with my first name.

I don't know if it's still popular for new babies, but there are many Liams at the MS where I teach.

We are 100% decided so I'll share. Baby boy will be Mo.rgan Alex.ander.
First name is my H's middle name and he's always wanted to use it if we had a boy. And I like it too, so no argument from me. Easy peasy.
H also just found out that his great grandpa had a brother with the name. Which happened with my daughter's first name too, but on my side. I never knew my great grandma's name until we went back east for my grandmas funeral and I saw her birth certificate. My daughter was a year old at that point. So apparently we choose family names without even trying.
My DD is Ell.a J.ean.

I’m leaning towards Frankie Leigh. I know it’s not everyone’s style because of being a nickname and it’s a more masculine than feminine name but I am really digging it. Just need to convince DH.
My nana who is my favorite person on this earth, it’s what she calls my granddad whose name is Frank. So it’s got some meaning behind it and we haven’t honored that side of the family with names. We’ve done my dads and DH side so far.

We narrowed down our choices to our top 5 each. The two we had in common are our front runners.
Savannah and Harper
I really do like both but am not in love with either. I did ask DD to pronounce both of them. She kind of got Savannah but Harper she couldn't get the 'ha' sound. It was more like 'Pauper'. It was so cute though.

ajm, my brother was born when I was just shy of 3 years old. His name is Tristan, but I couldn't say the "tr" sound, so for a long while his name was Pistan lol

itsmemeg as you know I love love love it. My DD has a unisex name and I’m into it. And my middle name is Leigh... so I’m biased!

V can't properly pronounce the name we're considering, but he also can't pronounce his own name at this point, so that's not a huge consideration for me. We only have one name we currently agree on, though, so we're also not trying to cross anything off of the list.
H and I both want to use his name as the middle name, so at least that's decided.

I talked with my nana tonight who totally shot down the name on our list that is somewhat after her name. Magnolia (Maggie). The Maggie part is more after my Nana’s name but she hated Magnolia. Lol old people are so funny. She didn’t say anything negative about Frankie which is after her husband/my grandpa. She asked if we would use Frances and I said no to which she replied good. So I think we are down to Hattie, Essie and Frankie. All with no formal name, just the name we’d call her.

And we didn't have a name picked out until 12 hours after she was born. So I wouldn't worry too much after deciding now. As long as you have a small list to choose from. Lol.
