Sorry for the title but pro football is straight trash. Also saw this and it reminds me why it's straight trash. Amen to this sister. http://instagram.com/p/BewulJ_Ds1i [/instagram] I am sick of people telling me to use my man card and to get over everything. I speak out because it's not right and it's not fair. This work can be better. We just need to remove those who are terrible human beings and remind everyone what decency in 2018 is. Not decency from 1AD or 1956, but right fucking now. Sorry to be charged up. Been really busy. Miss you guys.

To add insult to injury Market Place Morning Report reports wage growth has gone up 2% which is on part with a couple months ago. With the new Republican outlook and the hard line to keep the lower class and the middle class low, the FED will be announcing the growth of interest rates. They believe it is leading to "unsafe" inflation. In reality wage growth has not grown WITH inflation therefore leading to what currently separates Millenials from Baby boomers. Baby Boomers could pay for everything with their jobs where as millenials and people working in the millenial age are held down because prices are way to high while wages remain way to low. The cost of living has gone up so high that most middle class are slowly being pushed down. TL:DR - You have been make a smidge more but the FED wants to raise interest rates so you pay them more; ergo they are getting that money back the promised you in the tax plan. Trickle down turns into fake money; dare I say "fake news" Thanks Trump  02/05/2018: Where millennials stand on immigration

Shame on the conservatives in the district who didn't challenge this guy and were just like "well, he's an antisemite but at least he isn't a liberal."

Look, I know this sounds insane but...even the IL GOP isn’t happy with him. They’ve refused to endorse him and in a prior race they actually got him legally removed from the ballot. They tried to get him removed again this year but weren’t successful. He’s only going to get the nomination because he’s running unopposed in the primary. Yes, by all means part of the issue is that this guy managed to get the requisite number of signatures to appear on the ballot at all- but I really don’t think you can blame that on the IL GOP. Added: Also, this guy I do not think can even win over the Trump supporters given the comments he’s made against Trump.

I finally read this article about Penzeys Spices while playing catch up on all the good reads from last week. I knew Penzey had been vocal about being anti-Trump, but I didn't realize he has a history of speaking up for certain issues. Here's the article: www.newyorker.com/culture/annals-of-gastronomy/ceo-who-called-trump-racist-penzeys-spice-mixWhen I heard the Eagles won yesterday, I checked to see if their owner was linked to Trump like the Patriot's owner (answer: no). It just struck me as a little odd that I even cared, but I realized it's a result of all the crap of this past year. I've been pretty pessimistic about large companies and their willingness to support Trump or at least, not speak out against the things that have been said. It's nice to see some companies actually speaking up.

It’s actually a funny district in that they vote for conservative Democrats. The incumbent (who has been in office for 25 yearsish and inherited the seat from his dad) would be called a Republican in many other places, given his union and social views. He has a progressive challenger in the primary.

Wittes has memos from the week Comey was fired: I'm really glad he FOIA'd these. I'm annoyed all over again that there was even a question about how Comey was flying home from LA after being dismissed hours (minutes?) before. Was he to be stranded there?

No, Trump just expected him to fly home on his own dime. He really thinks the US is his corporation and his rule should be law.

I'm home with two sick kiddos today. The Wittes blog is going to be my ray of sunshine, I can feel it. I'm right there with you. 5 of the last 6 work weeks I've had to take off at least some time to take care of sick kids, and this afternoon I discovered that DD2 has a fever of 103. This is the winter of never-ending illnesses here. I hope yours is over soon, especially the puking part.

Wittes has memos from the week Comey was fired: I just had a chance to read the piece and there's no longer any doubt that Comey was a capable and respected leader. The WH continues to spin fairy tales that are easily disproven.

It may not have been as blunt and flashy as some wanted, but, it was a pretty telling moment IMO.

The incumbent (who has been in office for 25 yearsish and inherited the seat from his dad) would be called a Republican in many other places, given his union and social views. He has a progressive challenger in the primary. as mentioned before, and to be fair, the local GOP has disavowed this guy (they're also not very happy with one of the gubernatorial candidates). It's a shame he's running unopposed in that primary, but there are quite a few local races that go that way in Illinois- you pretty much know the candidate of party X (either GOP or Dem) will carry that ward/district.

The WH continues to spin fairy tales that are easily disproven. I don’t mean to be negative, but what will proving this do? His base won’t care. Republican leadership won’t care. I love that Wittes got this info and we conclusively know the WH was lying, but you know SHS is going to say something about how they were contacted by rank and file members so they wouldn’t be in those emails, Comey is still a Democrat stooge, blah blah blah. Like, this is great and all, but what realistically will come from it?

We don't need the Deplorables to believe the Earth is round but we do need principled conservatives to resist Trump. Maintaining faith in our Justice Department is important for a number of reasons.

I totally get that. I just was so excited when I read the story and then that little voice in my head just started saying “Ok, but now what?” People who resist Trump already assumed this was the case (that he was lying and that Comey/the FBI were upstanding folks) - but it is nice to have proof. Hoping this helps some of those principled Republicans stand stronger.

On the last Lovett or Leave it pod, they basically compared the hard core T supporters to flat earthers. This is where I stand. In 2018 if you believe that the earth is flat, there is LITERALLY no hope for you, not a speck of any scientific finding or facts or arguing will help you. So in 2018 if you believe even a fraction of what comes out of that mans mouth or any of his mouthpieces there is zero hope for you, he really could shoot someone in front of you, tell you the dems did and you would believe it.
I feel sorry for them but I can no longer waste any of my brain cells on trying to convince them that the 'earth is round.'
