My daughter is 4 and loves learning. I'm very much not a teacher. She's ready to learn to read, but I'm not really sure where to start. Any recommendations on books or resources?
I've looked through the beginner/learn to read books at the stores around me, and they are definitely not beginner enough-most that I've seen start out with words involving 6+ letters and several word combinations.

My son picked it up at preschool using sight words.
They used the Dolch system, with him working on 8 words at a time, until he got them down, then moved to the next 8 words.
When he got to kindergarten, they continued with the sight words, but I couldn't tell you if they used Dolch or a different system/ guideline.
I will say only working through Dolch, my son was able to recognize enough words to be reading before entering kindergarten and without really learning phonics he was/is sounding out words he didn't know.
The BOB books also come highly recommended, but they were too slow/not advanced enough for him when we tried to incorporate them. I think his best friend had better luck with them, but isn't as quick with the sight words, so that could be an alternative.

We are using 100 lessons to teach your child to read. She already has some sight words (also 4), but this is a phonetic method.
She is flying through the lessons and loves it. They are about 15-20 minutes long.

Lurking but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. We used Hooked on Phonics for all my nieces and nephews and DD. They were all reading by age 3 with this and luckily where we are they teach reading using phonics in the classroom so it gets reinforced. I attached a link below...not sure it the exact same as what we have but it's probably pretty close:) www.hookedonphonics.com/product/complete-learn-to-read-kit-with-bonus-spelling/
