Anyone else doing a February Whole 30? I'm on day 5 today and feeling like I've been hit by a truck. I'm nervous about this weekend, it's been such a tough week at work and I am dreaming about beer.
(also Hi, I mainly lurk but am trying to post more!)

I just finished a January W30 earlier this week. I’m not doing an official W30 this month, but I’m trying to mostly stick with the diet with some additions like quinoa and legumes. Giving up alcohol was he hardest part for me, but I have to say, I had my first drinks in over a month last night and they hit me hard. I was hurtin’ for certain this morning (from 2 1/2 glasses of wine!) and I don’t want to think about having another for a while. So the W30 definitely retrained my body there.

Congrats coconutbacon! This is my third (ish) W30 over the last two years and I remember how hard the booze hit me by day 31. I've managed to keep up the eating habits in a lot of way but I love my beer too much to do it more than 30 days. I just tried sweet potato toast for the first time yesterday and it was delicious! Trying to add some new recipes into the mix if anyone has recommendations. Here's the recipe I used, but it's really simple instructions on how to make the sweet potato toast. thezoereport.com/living/wellness/sweet-potato-toast-recipes/?sr_share=pinterest#slide-2

Notarobot I might be doing another one this month if I survive the night. I eat an autoimmune diet daily (Paleo minus nuts/seeds, eggs, and nightshades) but I struggled with an excess of natural sugars (mainly honey). I did well and when it was over I made myself a Paleo brownie cake to celebrate and have gone off the rails and feel like absolute shit. I keep falling asleep while doing normal tasks and am incredibly irritable. I'm currently crying because I want pretzels and cheese. I know it's because of my excess sugar consumption and it's making my body crave foods I shouldn't be eating. Clearly one month did not help me face the issues I have and I need some more time I’m sorry you’re feeling crappy! Sugar is such a crazy beast. I had no idea how much it could mess with you until I actually cut it out. Hope you feel better tomorrow and if you want to join in with whole 30 this month I’ll be here!

That sweet potato toast looks so good Notarobot! I follow a vegan diet about 80% of the time. I have fish/ seafood once/ week and eggs occasionally. I’ve found a lot of great recipes on The Minimalist Baker blog. It’s all gluten free and vegan, and a lot is grain free and legume free too. Some things I modify slightly (like coconut aminos for Tamari) or during the W30 I was omitting any of the soy. minimalistbaker.com
