Planning a Disney trip seems completely overwhelming. BUT, J's teacher just went and now j knows about it and I know he's going to love it. I kind if want to do a Disney cruise bc I have heard those are great. Or my SM mentioned santa maybe should bring tickets for the whole family one year (yes! Assuming she's santa). Or we have thought of doing a Cali trip with a DL day or two. I want to go before it loses it's magic. My best friend goes this week for a week with her 18 m old and her neice and nephew, that seems a bit aggressive for me. I've heard great things about a Disney cruise. I don't really do cruises, but I would make the exception for a Disney cruise. Thinking about doing that instead of Disney world next year.

Amex sent me a summary of our spending for 2017. It was pretty eye-opening. We eat too much. Ugh we spend so much on groceries for the four of us. We have a good 'inventory' but it's frustrating when there arent many ways to lower that. THIS. I did great for my modified No Spend January, except for groceries. I was hoping to lower that bill, but I spent more than I would have liked to. I can't really see how to lower it, either. I even shopped and meal planned off of things that were on sale and still spent a good bit.

Hi! Busy day here. I have an appointment a couple hours after work. I forgot my workout clothes but can't run home because FIL is watching the kids, so I'm thinking solo Target trip and a stop for a whopper Jr. will be in order. I'm pretty into whopper jr's lately which is odd.

I save a significant amount of money there vs a traditional grocery store. Generally I spend about 75-80 per week. We both bring lunches to work and rarely eat out. I average about $2 per meal (per person.) I don't have to provide lunch for Layla but I feed her a small breakfast before school when she gets real breakfast. I meal plan weekly and cook every other night so I always plan for leftovers.

The only thing I can think to do to lower my bill is to buy things that we use in tremendous bulk (like bigger than Cosco/BJ's) like beans, quinoa, brown rice, nuts, pasta, canned tomatoes. I was thinking about trying the jet app. We get slammed at the grocery store because we shop the perimeter. Dairy, fruits, and vegetables probably make a good half to 3/4 of my bill.

The mint Oreo shake is a delight, but it's only there for a little bit of time I think to compete with a Shamrock shake (which is gross, and I know this is an UO) Burger King doesn't have cones? If I were going to McDonald's, I really only ever want a filet-o-fish with a ton of their barbecue sauce. Isn't that a disgusting combo? It's my favorite there.

I love fast food but I would starve to death before eating anything Burger King. We once had it while on a family road trip and my sister got car sick all over me. Can't even stand to drive past and smell that place.
I just reached out to re-make a friend. A good friend from high school who I haven't seen in years had a baby boy 6 days after I had C. Just messaged her to see if she wants to have a baby play date. Hopefully we will still get along. She was a friend from my wild days of clubbing and fake ids.

mskatiep No Aldi's here. I do only cook 2-3 meals a week, too. During the week it's usually 2 meals that will have leftovers. I bring my lunches to work, MH eats at the school cafeteria for free, and I have to pack M's lunches and a snack for school. We do eat out at least once or twice on the weekends. I'm trying to change that and only eat out once and cook a meal on the weekends, but the last thing I want to do is cook on my days off.

I don't think BK has cones, just shakes. I'm not a huge shake fan. Also, I can't get my sandwich and a cone at the same time anyway because I want to eat the sandwich first, but don't want the cone to be melty. It's a struggle.

Wait, are tix to Disney really $150+/person per day to see all the parks? Or else you just have to pick one for $100? I just looked what it would be for my family and it was like $800 if we went today.
My enthusiasm continues to wane.

Hi! N screamed all night..we tried adding 1 ounce of lactose free whole milk to her bottles, so it seems like it's maybe a dairy issue and not a lactose issue. I gave her a bath at 6am and she looked like she was in labor leaning forward with her pot belly in the water, poor thing. But after some gas she seemed fine and ate a big breakfast. Who has done something besides milk after formula? She's on Gerber gentle and still nurses, which are both containing cows milk. We do pea and soy milk.

lahdeedah oh man, Aldi is my lifesaver. I read they are expanding rapidly, so maybe some day! I hear you on not wanting to cook on the weekends. I normally just throw something in the Crock-Pot. I don't think I ever really appreciated the amount of money my parents spent on food feeding 6 sometimes 7 of us all. My sister has 3 teens and spends almost $300/wk on food. DNW.

If you do meat, you could look into Butcher Box. Basically they send you a box of meat however often and you stick it in your freezer. I did it to try it out and it came with quite a bit and will last in our house for quite awhile. I think it was 11-12 lbs of meat for $100. We got 2 ny strips, 2 sirloin steaks, 6 skinless chicken breasts, 2 lbs of hamburger meat, 2 packs(idk how many are in there, they are vacuum sealed) of pork loin chops and a pack of bacon. Since mh didn't want to participate in this purchase he still has to buy protein for his shopping weeks, so it will last probably most of the month for us.

Hi! ladystrat I’m glad you took some time with your family away from electronics. I think it’s a good thing for everyone to do, but especially in a time like that to really reconnect and grieve with each other. peachsmama MH has...ehm....HAD a go pro and a drone. They both went by way of a pond. 🙄. But it was pretty easy to use. He replaced it with one from Amazon that only cost $79 and I think it is just as good, if not better than the $500 GoPro. So if your ever in the market to buy one I can look up which one he got. I just got notice today that I will return to work in a month! I should probably start weaning off of my afternoon naps to prepare. My first day back to work I will be traveling. Flying into DC, then driving to Shepherdstown, WV for a conference for work. What a way to be welcomed back.
