Hey everyone! I hope everyone is doing well!
1. How did this last week go? Ups? Downs?
2. What is your short term goal for this week?
3. What is your favorite healthy recipe?
4. What is the hardest thing for you to let go of when dieting (i.e. soda, beer, pasta, etc.)?

1. Well I’m down almost 4lbs (almost at my first goal a 10lb loss down to 260lbs), but it’s mainly because I have the flu, and haven’t been hungry. Once I start feeling better I’ll start eating keto again. 2. Short term goal is to not gain weight back after I start feeling better. Secondary goal is to get down under 260lbs! 3. One of my new favorites is carnitas in my Instant Pot! So easy, and only took 45ish min of cook time (and another 20-25min for pressurization and depressurization)! It was AMAZING, and I just want to eat it every day! 4. The hardest thing for me are the carb “sides,” such as rice & pasta. I miss them.

Thanks for starting librariangirl! Yay for weight loss, but sorry it's because you're sick. I hope you feel better soon! That carnitas recipe sounds good!

1. Last week went well for exercise! I worked out 5 times! Eating was not horrible but not awesome. I haven't been doing very well with drinking water. I lost 0.5lbs, which is was happy with because I was bloated thanks to CD1.
2. My goal for this week is to drink 2 bottles of water daily.
3. My favorite healthy recipe is deviled eggs...low carb and a great snack!
4. Carbs are definitely hard for me to let go of...bread, pasta, cake, etc.

orangehibiscus, great job working out! 👏 👏👏 I hate bloat days. They’re the worst. I suggest getting a venti ice water from Starbucks (free), and using that as your “measure” on whether you’ve drank enough. I try to drink 3-4 a day (each is 26oz). I like that I can I can tell how much I’ve drank throughout the day with the three lines on it too. The bottom line is ~12oz, and the next two are ~7oz each.

librariangirl those carnitas sound amazing! Yay for the weight loss, but I'm sorry it's because you were sick. orangehibiscus great job on working out! librariangirl's suggestion about measuring the water is a good one. Another might be getting a nice water bottle with gradients so you know how much you are drinking, but are stylish too 😉

1. Ok. I've been walking a lot but not working out, which is ok since AF started and I'm now in a FET cycle.
2. Make good eating decisions. I want all the bad food dealing with AF.
3. Hmm. Good question. I make a good spaghetti sauce, and if you are off carbs you can use spaghetti squash. I heat up some oil (olive oil or another healthier oil) and cook up chopped peppers, mushrooms, onion, and spinach for about 10 min, then throw in some chopped garlic for 1-2 minutes. Then add canned/ jarred crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, oregano, parsley, basil and garlic powder, then let it simmer for an hour or 2. It's pretty quick to put together and you can add whatever you have. And it's delicious!
4. I don't really diet, exactly, I try to just make healthier choices, but I have a hard time giving up cheese. I love it, I know it's good in small amounts, but I definitely eat too much.

1. How did this last week go? Ups? Downs? On the good side, I got all of my exercise in, cardio and strengthening. However, I somehow gained back the 1.5 lbs that I lost the week before. Not sure how that’s possible considering I ate well and exercised, but I’m guessing AF had something to do with it. Double whammy: not pregnant and weight gain, thanks AF!
2. What is your short term goal for this week? See the scale go in the correct direction! I have given up diet soda. I miss it already and it’s been two days.
3. What is your favorite healthy recipe? Good question! I don’t really have one. MH grills different meats for me and then I eat a veggie, either frozen or grilled, and then usually rice with soy sauce for my carb.
4. What is the hardest thing for you to let go of when dieting (i.e. soda, beer, pasta, etc.)? Definitely carbs. And cheese. Mmmm bread and cheese.

Hi, ladies! I started doing weight watchers a week ago, and I lost 5 pounds! I did it years ago and didn’t lose anything, but now they are stricter with carbs (more points), and I am not eating not bread or pasta (don’t like them anyway.)
I need to step up my water game and try to stop snacking so much (even though I am sticking to it and having fruits and veggies). I have been keeping a journal when I get upset and have noticed I want to eat to pacify myself after dinner. I exercise 4-5 times a week and do Zumba one-two days a week and HITT 3-4 days. I have been working out at home a lot to try to avoid the flu.
Giving up cheese is the hardest for me. The hardest. String cheese doesn’t cut it. I’m allowing myself feta at lunch and trying to be strong. And nuts. I love pistachios!

1. How did this last week go? Ups? Downs? Down one pound! Also proud of myself for choosing higher protein and lower carb options at breakfast and lunch.
2. What is your short term goal for this week? Find a good balance of making healthier choices at my mom's birthday dinner out, while still satisfying myself so I don't crave more treats/rewards.
3. What is your favorite healthy recipe? This week - steamed cauliflower with lime juice on it. Discovered by accident (here's my boring cauliflower - I don't want to add fat/calories - oh look here's half a lime I squeezed on the chicken tacos, let's see how it tastes). I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to someone else, but I loooved it because I only recently could eat cauli and broccoli again (on low fiber diet for crohn's) and I always crave sour.
4. What is the hardest thing for you to let go of when dieting (i.e. soda, beer, pasta, etc.)? First, sugar. I was a b*tch for a few days. Then, chocolate. Life is so bleak without it every day. But now I've realized I feel so much better without them (they both make me hungry, headachey, tired) so it's been a lot easier. I have not tried to let go of cheese, that would be an instant fail, but I am being strict about <10g saturated fat/day almost every day so I am not going overboard with cheese!

I'm super late replying to these...sorry! Thanks librariangirl! Yes, bloat days are terrible. The water cup is a good idea. I do have a water bottle at my desk (2 actually), it's just whether I actually fill them up and drink them. Thanks sally! Yay for walking! I love making spaghetti using spaghetti squash. It's so good! I love cheese too. If I'm going low carb, then my diet is very heavy in cheese/dairy. Great job on getting your exercise in obscureference! Sorry you gained some weight back...stupid periods! How is WW going hoosiermama76? Yay for losing 5lbs! That's awesome! Yay for being down a pound sunshiney! How did you do at your mom's birthday dinner?

orangehibiscus Awesome! I planned ahead, and focused on leaner protein (scallops and steak), two veggies for sides (brocc and asparagus), no dessert, half a drink. Felt pleasantly stuffed instead of sick like I would after a big feast. Decided against anything creamy/cheesy. And still weighed in down a bit more a couple days later.

Lots of success here. I haven’t really lost more but I stared my meds for my FET, so I am just trying not to gain. I have stuck to my diet and it’s getting easier:-)
