Welcome to the IVF check-in for January 28! Check-ins will be every Monday (WE NEED A NEW VOLUNTEER) and Thursday (bonzo). If we've left you off the check-in, or if you'd like to be added or removed, please let us know! This is a check-in for those who are doing IVF or FET. Please don’t hesitate to use this check-in for IVF/FET info and support even if you’re not currently cycling. If you are interested in joining, please fill us in on your cycle. Everyone is welcome. Also, please update us along the way! Asterisks will appear by your name if you do not update us in a check-in. After four consecutive asterisks (2 weeks), you will be removed from the list. Don’t fret if you are removed from the list, check in again and we will add you back. Once you get a strong repeat beta, congrats! We eagerly await your 3TIF Grad Check-In posts! We encourage you to intro on PAIF, and while here in the meantime, please consistently use warning tags in posts and siggies, and be mindful of your status, especially on 3TIF outside this check-in. Sorry I didn't get this up on Thursday. While it feels like nothing is moving forward for me as far as IF goes, work has been hectic and definitely keeping me busy! We're still waiting for news on our top two donors, they should be finishing up their current cycles soon so hopefully I'll know more next week or so.

Thanks for welcoming me! Got all the meds finalized. This is our second fresh cycle and 4th transfer total.
I should be starting in the next 3 weeks so in the meantime I’ve just done my HSG and have a uterine scratch and mock transfer next Monday!

Baseline is tomorrow morning. CD1 was yesterday, and FET is scheduled for 2/12.
I am turning 42 Friday, and I have to work both jobs that day so we are celebrating later. I’m terrified of getting older and this not working. I know we could still get pregnant on our own, but after two failed transfers, it worries me. I am just thinking about what I would do next: foster care, adopt, or live with what I’ve got. Or keep trying. I’m the one with the DH that has problems ejaculating, so even though we have a great sex, it is always about me, and baby making sex is really trying for us.

Sorry I haven't been around, it's been a really rough week emotionally. Weight loss has stalled out, which has probably delayed us starting until April TBH. I'm frustrated and annoyed that it's stalling out, despite how much I have been doing to get the weight off. My H got a new job and starts in two weeks which is great - but there was a major loss in my family last week that really has thrown me off. {TW: loss}My cousin's son was stillborn last Monday (they are doing testing, but suspect genetic issues), and the funeral was Friday. The whole service was beautiful, but very triggering for me. She was just shy of 33 weeks, and I was just past 27 weeks when we lost DD.
They were the EXACT same weight and length, which was also a bit triggering. She and I have been talking back and forth via text message over the weekend, which I think is really helpful for her. It's just hard. So I'm still here, still waiting.

fikafairy, I'm so sorry. I can see how the similarities make it especially triggering. Love and prayers to you and your family.

fikafairy, I’m so so sorry. How horrific to go through this with so many triggers. Prayers to you and your family.

bonzo, I hope you get good news on your donors soon! At least work is keeping you distracted, I guess?!? adm11 I'm glad you got your meds figured out. Good luck on Monday! I hope everything goes well. hoosiermama76 I hope baseline went well. Everything crossed for you this cycle. fikafairy I am so sorry. That must be especially difficult with all the extra triggers. AFM, I unexpectedly got AF Sunday, so I'm in my FET cycle! I wasn't expecting to start until later this week, but like with most things ttc my body had other ideas. I'm still waiting on the tentative schedule from the nurse, and the results of the ERA, but I'm guessing if all goes well it will be around the 17th. I have all the feels. I'm so excited to transfer, because we've been at this so long, but I'm terrified it won't work.

fikafairy I am so so sorry for your family's loss and the fact that you had to go through it with it hitting so close. I can't imagine how hard that must be. adm11 yay for starting soon! I hope this is it for you. hoosiermama76 I hope this is the FET that finally works for you. I hear you on getting older. This process is so time consuming and time is so important. We had our appointment yesterday with the RE. She thinks I have an embryo quality issue. Not a genetic issue but just the quality/fragility of the embryos themselves. The vast majority over the 3 fresh cycles have arrested after day 3. Of 25 embryos only 3 got to blast. She recommended doing a transfer at day 3 to see if they might have a better shot in utero. I definitely am on the same page with her with that. She suggested maybe thinking about transferring two at day 3 but recommends one if we are comfortable with that. I am on the fence about this. We have only transferred one because I am already high risk due to a placental aburption at 31 weeks with DS. DH is really only wanting to transfer one but I am wanting two. Also she recommended not doing the PGS. I wanted to do PGS in the hopes of testing at least 3 embryos. She thinks that is unlikely for us at this point and with only having 1 or 2 to test the cost just doesn't seem worth it to us. We have to get back to her with our final decision on how many to transfer on day 3 and if we are for sure not doing PGS. After that we will get a schedule and wait for my period to come to start. She predicted that it would be mid-end of March before we are doing a retrieval/transfer.

jense927 it looks like you have a lot to consider. The only thing you might want to add is what to do if you have good retrieval numbers. I'm on tapa so I can't see siggys and I don't remember, but are you DOR? It doesn't seem like it with the numbers you mentioned, but I thought I'd ask. Would you freeze any that get to blast anyway, or freeze on day 3? Can you decide based on how things go? I'd be tempted to do a day 3 transfer and then try to test any more than 2 if you get them to blast. Or whatever number you are comfortable with. I feel like if you have a bunch that look good on day 3 it's a crapshoot and you want to maximize your odds. It's a tough decision though. Good luck with whatever you decide.

yay! CD1 was yesterday! we are officially prepping! OCPs until March 4th! we have a tentative transfer date of 3.28! Except they need to do a hysteroscopy next week. so back under general anesthesia I go... ugh. It will take longer to get me under than it will to do the hysteroscopy!
