Hey there! Haven't quite caught up for today yet. H is out of town today so just me and A. She's napping now and when she wakes up we will head to my mom's to hang out until bedtime. Going to share some cuteness: Ava has learned the phrase "that's silly." And she always said with a tone that says it like what she just heard was the most absurd thing ever. Some recent conversations- LL: Do you want to help me make dinner in the crockpot? A crockpot is a big pot and you put all the food in there and it cooks it." A: that's silly
LL: What should mommy wear to church today? A dress? A: that's silly
LL: OK, I've taken out the green beans....will you at least eat some corn and peas? A: that's silly.
It may be one of those things that only I find amusing, but it kills me every time.

45thparallel, omg that's the best feeling ever. I love when we go away and we get back after they're sleeping so they get to wake up to us next morning. All of the hugsssss. And then a few hours pass and I'm already looking to book the next getaway.

Betweenthelines omg so much yes. The lovey phase will last for all of 2 minutes until one of them steals the others toy and all hell breaks loose and its screams and tears for days. On the plus, DS is now at a point where if hes upset, he looks at me and says "calin calin calin" until I hug him (french for hug). Then hes ok. THe magic of a hug at this age.

We are in a french area, they do day care in french, all family around is french and their "friends" are french, Id say french is first? I'm the only source of english until elementary school.

Funny story, in French the names of some of the Paw Patrol characters are different. For example: Marshall is Marcus, Rubble is Ruben, Sky is Stella. At daycare, apparently my kids aggressively correct the other kids when they say the french names instead of the english one. So english FTW?

Freaking hormones... I'm watching the "One Love Manchester" concert and the tears are just flowing. I mean... I think I'd probably tear up anyway, because f***, its so with all that's happening, but I'm crying. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I think my hormones are out of control too. I watched this video on FB the other day showing a day from the perspective of the worn out mom and then again from the perspective of the daughter who thought it was awesome. I couldn't even explain it to MH when he saw me crying so I showed him the video and cried again watching it a second time.

I'm the only source of english until elementary school. So I'm going to ask more questions, because we are an English only household, so this is foreign to me. Do you speak French and English to them? Mainly French? Does your H as well? My french is improving but limited, I grew up 100% english. I speak all english to them, with a few exceptions. Some words in French come more naturally to me so I use those: oui, fini, tomber. But I do try to provide both, and am working on using only english. My BF speaks all french to them directly. As a family, we speak english - BF and I speak english to each other and when we talk to them together. They associate english with me and french with BF. Sometimes DD will talk to me in french and I wont understand, so I tell her "what would I (or mama) say?" and will she switch to english (or vv for french). She'll also translate what DS says sometimes if she can tell I don't understand. Sometimes what he has said is english and I don't understand so she will give both the french and english versions until I tell her I get it haha.

booarogue, how's the hair today? Is the colour still coming off on your fingers? My nails are stained a light blue. At least I didn't dye my hair black. 😂 I got my hair cut yesterday and the stylist basically said these kinds of dye are like fancy kool-aid in that they just stain it (and everything else) until they completely wash out. It was fun while it lasted. Maybe I'll do a demo permanent next time so it will Latch on a little better.

jedi , that is so cool! I need to do stuff like that with N on my days off. I always tell myself that I am going to do awesome activities like that, but I pretty much need to stop kidding myself. That's never going to be my strength.

That is so interesting to me and impressive how the kids just switch between the 2! I wish I spoke a second language.

I just got my post exposure tb test placed. Fx that it is negative. I really don't want to have to deal with tb meds while pregnant. Plus the strain has high inh resistance.

avocadotoast, I didn't mean to lt your post and I hate taking them away, but couldn't leave it there because saying I "like it" seems insensitive. I'm sorry for the rough weekend. How sad about your friend's step-sister.

Betweenthelines no worries. For simplicity even I refer to him as MH sometimes. H or BF work for me, I know who were talking about
