DS1 (6) is okay. It seems like he goes every other day with good and bad days lately. Yesterday was a good day. He earned a little slinkie at school for exceptional behavior, and when he came home, he gave it to DS2 because DS2 liked it so much. He was a little sad about it but wouldn't take it back when I offered because he said it was more fun to watch his brother be so happy, so I'm going to buy him another one this weekend.
He also improved by 30% on his most recent sight reading evaluation!

hawkward - That slinky story is precious. And that's a great improvement!!! J (4.5) is doing pretty well. She's had some slip ups with listening lately, but nothing too major. She has a field trip today and spent a good amount of time picking out her outfit and matching hair tie. Then, her hair had to be just-so to work with her outfit. Dear Lloyd, watch over my spirit LOL She's pumped about K already. I need to look this week about registering her. Cue tears. We also got her performance evaluations and she's mastered all her skills. Her teacher are doing some K-level work with her now and said she's really doing well. They suggested some early reading materials so I need to look into that, too. QOTW: I hardly ever eat drive-thru breakfast... Does Wawa count?! If not, I guess I'd say McDonald's (shruggy guy).

Oh, yeah, I forgot my drive thru breakfast! If I'm eating drive thru breakfast, I'm hungover, and the only thing that's going to fix that is a BEC biscuit, hashbrown, and coke from McDonald's. Taco John's breakfast burritos are good for that too, but #regional.

oldbaylover1024, that's awesome she's doing so well! We really like early emergent reading Reading with Phonics. Each book is very rhyme-y and picks a "skill" to work on, so it's good for confidence building because there are tons of context cues.
