I watched This is Us and Grey's back to back last night. It was not a good life choice. Oh gosh, I'm sending you all the hugs!

Did anyone else force their spouse to change all their batteries today? Or just me? I really did. Lol

For real though, house fires are one of my longest and top anxiety-producing concerns. Same. Sometimes I lay awake in the middle of the night and obsess about how to get to V (who sleeps down the hall) and how to get the dog out of the second floor windows if we weren't able to get downstairs. A teacher I work with lost her house (along with her cat) over the holidays, so it's definitely been on my mind a lot recently.

That probably makes more sense lol Although, they had just done the deed and I assume she took it off then but anyway. It's definitely not worth dwelling on lol You are clearly not a yinzer, keeping a Steelers jersey on for sex wouldn't seem out of the ordinary around these parts......only half kidding. Lol I definitely don't football. What's a yinzer?

Yinzer isn’t a football term so much as a term to describe anybody from Pittsburgh who is hard core everything Pittsburgh including worshiping the Steelers.

For real though, house fires are one of my longest and top anxiety-producing concerns. +2 or 3 or whatever. When I was a kid I watched something on how to survive house fires and learned that you should sleep with your door closed. So ever since then, I would close my bedroom door at night. We also had a fire at our last home that was...terrifying. And could have been MUCH worse but the universe kind of aligned and we ended up with just property damage, people and animals were all ok. I always make sure we have several, easily accessible fire extinguishers at all time. H also was in an accident involving fire last year and when he called me from the ambulance and I subsequently freaked in front of DS, DS's first question was, can you show me where are fire extinguishers are? My heart kind of died because I didn't want to worry him but I was also glad that we can openly talk about safety and fire plans and whatnot. Dammit I hate fire.

I was getting emotional because you want to yell at the kids "no, hang out with your dad for the game, tell you dad you love him" but then I think of all the times I acted exactly like that as a teenager. You seriously never think it's going to be your last chance. This got me too. I have a family member whose last words to her dad were “I hate you” in a fit of teenage rage. He passed unexpectedly that night.

This must also be why Kate has to watch every SB game with her dad. She missed the last one and can’t miss another.
RE: batteries, they removed them for Kate to use her tape player to record (?) because they were going to the mall and could get new ones, which they forgot. 😢😢😭😭😭 And could be why Kate feels guilty, especially if they all started wondering why they didn’t hear the alarm.

This has been bothering me since I saw the episode. So, Jack diligently cleaned the entire kitchen, but didn't clean out the crockpot? If just turned it off, that means there was still chili in it, right? It seems unlikely that he would have cleaned everything else except that goddam crockpot.

I thought at first maybe she just took the middle part out and forgot to turn off the base, but those are just the newer ones that have that right?

MH thinks I'm crazy for unplugging everything. I definitely don't feel crazy now Super behind, but ever since a coworker's house burned down due to a curling iron plugged in and faulty wiring (in her newly built house!!) I unplug everything.

This is one of my biggest fears. Everyone always makes fun of me because I check like 3 times to make sure my straightener is turned off/unplugged. Lol I don't know what made me so paranoid about it but yeah

After buying a new construction home, this does not surprise me. They basically did nothing right in my house. I’ll make sure to unplug everything from now on.

The switch looked to be in the off position though. He turned the switch to off. I believe they're discussing the grossness of leaving whatever food was in the crockpot over night. We saw him clean the whole kitchen but never cleaned out what was in the crockpot or took out the middle part that contains the food.

I follow Mandy Moore on Instagram and she just posted some stories. They must be filming funeral scenes today, it’s just her and the teenage kids and they are dressed all in black.
